  • My good mate Jack wanted to make a video showing how to replace the Turbo cartridge of his Discovery 2. So we got down to business & came up with this!
    Shot on a Canon 5dmkiii with a 24mm 1.4L & a 50mm 1.2L
    Song: Bensound - Funky Suspence

Hi, good video, worth mentioning to remove and clean the oil feed and return pipes, also to prime the turbo with oil prior to starting the engine

This is so well made I'm wondering why you stopped there. More of these please, whether mechanical videos, Landrover Discovery 2 videos, instructional videos, whatever, you have a natural talent.
No comment questions answered either I see. Maybe you gave up.

Hey mate, I’m Daniel the guy that runs this channel, I’m a videographer not a car enthusiast.
Jack however (the guy in the video) has his own channel that he has been doing for a while now, no cars though! Just motorbikes.

If anyone is watching this wondering how on earth to get the small bolts out the hot side…
    • whack the casing around the bolt with a hammer and screwdriver
    •douse it in wd40
•then hammer on the open end of a 9mm spanner in the best position which it grips best. So as to give the least possibility of them rounding
•using a brazing torch heat up the turbo housing around the bolt (not bolt itself)
•then tap the end of the spanner around with a lump hammer and hopefully it comes off.
What an absolute nightmare they were!

Nice tutorial. One question though, no need of feeding some oil in the turbo before starting up the engine?

Hello.Daniel. I'm dreading this job, not because it's difficult but because it's an issue finding a good quality, reliable cartridge! Is yours still going well, no problems?
