其實沒必要做無謂的爭執。檳島歷史比威省久遠，也是英國殖民時期較早開發的地區，後來大馬獨立的時候檳州政府也花比較多資源在開發檳島。隨著檳島的開發到了一定程度，威省近期也開始被重視，也越來越發展了。檳島的道路到了高峰時期較窄較擁擠，威省更有很多開發空間。檳島有世界教文科組織認可的歷史古蹟，還有古色古香的建築和風土人情。威省的工業和港口對檳州的GDP 也做了不小的貢獻。大家都是檳城州人，只是隔著一道海灣，沒必要分得那麼細。檳州少了檳島，就失去了檳城的歷史文化特色，少了威省，就失去了重要的經濟來源和人才。檳島和威省都是檳城州不可分割的部分，一塊也不能少啊。
