What I don't get is that if Alita is the real killer, why would she frame Wocky and hire a defense lawyer for him? If Wockey was found guilty, she'd never get to marry into the family like she wanted. And if he was found innocent, then surely the fact she was the actual killer would come up. Either way, she loses. What was she hoping to gain? Just to distance from the blowback of her involvement in the unfeasible surgery? She'd have already known Wocky was a dead man walking, she'd have known that when he inevitably died- she'd get part of the blame, and yet she wanted to marry into the family anyway. Was she hoping to already be in their good graces enough to be forgiven, like if she were bearing Big Win's grandson? Was she hoping they somehow wouldn't find out about her involvement? I don't see how considering they already knew she was the nurse and met Wocky at the surgery. Any way you slice it, her plan was half-baked. Best case scenario, Wocky would be found guilty and die, Kitakis wouldn't find out, and she's be out of a job and the mob aspirations. She'd be right back where she started, no upward mobility.
I know it's been 2 years late, but from what I understand, Alita hired Apollo because she thought that because he was a rookie lawyer and very inexperienced, Wocky would be declared guilty

Alita reminds me of a less interesting and compelling Dahlia Hawthorne. Facial expressions and all not to mention getting close to a guy just to get something. Alita it was for money Dahlia it was the necklace and poison. It seems a little bit like they are copying little bits from the original trilogy

Admittedly, Alita was just small time for a schnook who would do anything for money, compared to someone like Dahlia whose circumstances were more layered, and complicated due to being a footnote in the unexplained supernatural phenomenon/tragedy that is the Fey Clan Family tree.
If Stickler hadn't drawn the attention of the victim when he did, Dr. Meraktis would've been shot in the back of the head. That in turn would've given away where the perp had been when the murder was committed. Bad timing almost screwed Wocky over. He already had a death sentence hanging over his head as it was.

They did a little. His robe has better shading than it used to. In the original trilogy, it was outlined in stark black and now it's more subtle.
