Mary passed away in 1991 at the age of 57. Josie passed in 2010, she was 64. Those ladies were the backbone of our family and made us the strong ladies that we are today. Their memories will continue to live within our hearts. Thanks Dave
Thank you for the update i was just wondering if they were still fishing but it's a super hard life I live in ma I e and a lot of my friends passed away from the fishing \ logging industry
They died so young, seems unfair somehow. Makes me a little sad. I grew up seeing hard working people like this. A totally different world now. At least in the western world.

I love these old episodes. Amazing people
What fascinating lives! I'm so sorry to hear of their passing. I love their way of life and in such a beautiful place. This show is quite a gem.

Very cool and interesting show.
Impressive women.God rest them.
The man playing the accordian is my grandfather. i got the music talent from him.
That music is so awesome to listen too
When was this filmed? I'm guessing 1970s, maybe early 1980s?
1979
They're woman, not girls. Great program, as always.
Girls is a term of endearment...not disrespect!
wade saunders yes, it was a different time...girl wasn’t derogatory. Neither was “maid”, as my pop called me 🙂
