Today for the ABC Art Challenge I will be drawing Gengar for the letter G! To add more to the drawing I will also be drawing Haunter and Gastly as well. For today's discussion I talk about the importance of sketching and knowing when to take breaks as an artist.

The hyper focus thing you are talking about happens a ton to me. I love that feeling so much, I always do my best work when I get lost in it. Sometimes it worries me because I literally forget to do things like eat/sleep/get up. I got so lost in the last piece I worked on that I didn't look at a clock for 6 hours on a work night, ended up going to bed at 3AM and then not being able to sleep lol. Just got back up and worked on it again before work.
Anyway, nice piece and great commentary!
I completely understand how that goes, I have pulled soo many accidental all-nighters because I simply went into hyper-work mode and didn't leave it until it was finished. Some times it's a good thing and other times i'm like... AH SHOOT I had other things I needed to do today! Haha! Thanks as always for watching the videos! Good luck with all your projects!

Great video man Gengar is my favorite ghost pokemon. Actually all 3 forms are my favorite. For H it's obvious you have to draw Hank Hill with his propane and propane accessories lol. Keep up the outstanding work Chad.

What do you mean you don't wanna draw Hawkeye? Okay I'll admit, Hellboy would be actually really nice, but Hawkeye, he gets so very little recognition from the general fandom and world, but he's amazing :0 Alright alright, I'll admit again, he's my favorite and I am very happy to hear you have a figurine of him because I rarely hear such a thing, so I may be biased as fudge, but .. yeah pff Also his general color scheme is purple, that would be a lot of purple, following this amazing Gengar (and co.) video :p I'm just.. Hawkeye man, Hawkeye!
Hawkeye is my favorite Avenger. I really liked him in the 'Earths Mightiest Heroes' animated series. I always picture him as a snarky yet likable kinda guy. I also LOVE the Hawkeye comic from 2012 by Matt Fraction and David Aja, such a fantastic read.
Aww comics , I haven't read enough of them, but yes, they are great. Amazing story and amazing art style, a love of coffee i can relate to..! And Hawkeye in any animated series is just the best, definitely more true to his character in there, and the comics, than what they unfortunately made him in the mcu (gosh that makes me smad). His sense of humor and snarky self, you cannot not love him for it. He also has a very touching and interesting backstory, which not many people know about, but gosh I love him, and I'm happy to hear you love him too! (Alright, Hawkeye fangirling over, for now..) I wish you great continuation of this challenge, and I hope you enjoy doing every piece! (:

Very nice! I actually had another commenter suggest Hiccup from How to Train You Dragon so I am probably going to be drawing him and Toothless for the next one! I will have to draw something Harry Potter related in the future! Thanks for the suggestion!
