@@billseron2391 Whether you like the music or not, it doesn't matter. They're on a show for TALENT, not good music (unless of course the song writing is a part of the talent that you are demonstrating, which even in that case sometimes you can still see their talent in singing and not just song writing). She clearly has talent, and that is what this show is about, not individual taste in music. This was a clear case of letting your bias cloud your judgment and nothing else. I personally am not a huge fan of the song choice or musical theater but I cannot deny that she has talent and deserves to go through.
Something I noticed with Simon is that he usually gives actual critisisms, hes not super rude or disrespectful and he knows a good voice when he hears it and thats something I respect about him

The difference is that he tends to at least be in the ballpark with his insults. He might be blunt and cruel to people he thinks did badly, but he is generally right that they did bad.
It reminds me of the difference between Gordon and Joe in the US masterchef. Gordon has his quirks and can be extremely abrasive, but the combination of his charisma and the consistency of his criticism makes him tolerable even when he is roasting someone. Joe on the other hand oozes sleaze and dishonesty, and his criticisms are often bizarre and inconsistent. So he is almost intolerable.
Same kind of thing here. Simon commands respect with his opinions, even when they are harsh. Howie comes across as a buffoon.

This is being a bad judge. He literally stated that it’s not HIS type of music and that’s the only reason he said no. She had talent and it was obvious. Sometimes the hard part of being a judge is seeing talent in skill even if it’s your personal entertainment

There are so many singers on this show that it's silly to give a singer a golden buzzer because there's gonna be another singer who's at least just as good. Also it's a scripted show where they always use the buzzer for children so it doesn't matter.

Yeah, Simon's never mean to anyone who is talented. If a contestant has real talent, but it's in a category he's not super into, he still recognizes the talent and supports it.

I think Simon used to play up being a dick back in the day more before these types of shows were so established because as much as people like watching talented Acts they equally liked if not more the acts that were terrible and would get ripped apart or when some awful singer was delusional and would fight back against the judges it was a big part of the show but now it's more about the talent than anything else and even back in the day Simon used to say all the time that he was very knowledgeable about pop music and knew everything about what a pop singer should be but was not as knowledgeable when it came to the other genres but either way people know when they hear Talent like this and saying no is just

I hate when the judges say that they dont like the act just because it's not their personal preference. Theirs lots of things in the world that are amazing but may not be your personal preference and that doesn't mean that it's not worthy of being good. For example a person might think their husband or wife is beautiful but not everyone thinks their beautiful. Their are amazing cars and movies and everything else that some people dont prefer but others do so why can't they see that.
They are what audience is about...you cannot please everyone that's why they are searching for a good act what evet that is to be enjoyed by everyone even by surprise, thus, a las vegas worthy

Howie's behavior tonight raises a serious question about his ability to judge contestants. To not vote for an incredibly talented young woman because he does not care for the genre of music she performs, is not only ludicrous but was so rude, immature and just inexcusable. It goes against the premise of the show to advance talented people with promise to continue their journey in the competition. His taste in music is irrelevant and has absolutely nothing to do with the talent of the contestant in this instance. As a judge, he should have known better.

It’s staged, he’s acting like that because he is the “grinch” for Christmas, the other judges were in on it and that is why he was green
I remember when I was at my grandmas and my grandma was watching this and called me over to show how Howie was green. I miss her so much ❤
This is why I enjoy BGT a lot more than America's GT. AGT got so much drama and the judges are not as sporting as BGT judges. And most importantly, BGT has Ant & Dec.
