This song is awesome. I can't understand a single word but as a musician, I can kinda "understand" the tone of the music and the emotions from it. Makes me feel happy but at the same time, a sad, yet hopeful tone. Beautiful

MultiAsianpower I was wrong in my first reply. The song is about Luka giving farewell to her lover as he was called to war. While he leaves she tells him that she will love him for all eternity. however it could also be interpreted as her remember the times they shared right up until his departure. And could also be interpreted as Luka having lost her lover to war and mourning his passing. The official one is her giving farewell to him.
This would make an awesome anime and anime opening.
Just my opinion.

I can't express how much I love this song. At 3:24 the buildup, and the beautiful words, and then she just starts crying on the forest floor.... this is one of those videos where it just expresses the meaning of the music perfectly. I love the song so much. It's just so beautiful. And I love how the video just shows enough to express what's happening, like at 3:06 where he's leaving in a soldier uniform. That's all we needed to see to understand the situation. And then Luka just starts crying curled up in a ball. It's so raw and realistic. Luka is so precious. You can't help but feel her emotions in this song and video.
Also, I think this song is one of the ones that highlights the beauty of Luka's voice the best. Miku's version is wonderful, of course; it's Miku, but Luka really captures the feeling in this song so so well and the maturity of her voice really shows how much time has passed since 1:19 when they were children.

Well, Vocaloid is actually a singing program with different voices that can be synthesized. Luka is one of many Vocaloids. Utau is another program like Vocaloid, but Utau is a free program. You can "tune" a Vocaloid, and because of this, there are many "appends" or voices that sound different but are actually from the same Vocaloid.
I could go into greater detail, but you can just Go Google It. :)

I know Miku's was first (I found this song through a friend of my doing an English Cover, and she linked to both songs). It just feels like in this version, her vocals are faintly still there, just over-powered by Luka's.

It's all Luka tho. There's no need to include Miku when only one voice can handle it. That's how rumors and theories get started. The producer has his original music, he just swapped out the voice...ALL of it.

Yes, but "original" usually counts as the first one made of it's kind. Miku's version was made before Luka's, with the intention of becoming pretty famous. It didn't get that famous, so they made a Luka version. And Luka's is more popular, because her voice fits it better.
