It's a shame that there is only one Cummins remanufacturing in the U.S. one in Memphis the rest were either in Mexico or across the big pond ! I'm a proud owner of a 2002 5.9 Cummins in a 2500 Dodge pickup ! It's been by far the most reliable motor I've had as it has close to 285000 miles on it am still going strong today no major problems ! Just normal things like starter or water pump & alternater ! I give it 👍👍
Funny thing powerstrokes that I owned far exceeded that mileage with oil, air filter, and fuel filter changes. Transmissions were the failure point in 2nd gear synchronizer at about 170,000. 1995 model had glow plug and starter problems, every other year I owned had no problems like this.
I nearly choked at the start when he said the turbo had done millions of miles. What cummins truck engine in this day and age will do a million miles?? Maybe the old ones, but not now.
Blame the EPA. However, if the research on Ducted Fuel Injection is legit, we may see even more million mile engines without the EPA whining about NOx and soot...
clint puddister workers in many countries don’t have a choice when the government makes it law if someone didn’t use it and say their back and gunna sue cummins because of it cummins will say you were told to use the hoist its not our falt go f ur self and the guy can’t do nothing this way
I have a question, I have a 97 24v I6 on my dodge, 508,900 mi. can you guys "exchange" that old engine, I like the truck since its a one-off tow/recovery vehicle for off roading, building a new truck will cost me over $90,000 USD.
@@JASONHJEFFERSON people donw that to GMC motorhomes and destroyed the damn things (cracked chassis I believe). Have to be engineered for vibration to not cause cracks to form elsewhere.
Most likely won't dienas quick as a chrysler. Unless you have the old inline 6 from the 90s. Which was really something AMC designed before chrysler took them over.
WOW. Just wow. This is what used to be predicted.... to stop pollution they would ban new engines or new cars. So the only remaining ones would be old ones with smoke pouring everywhere. Zero brains in government......
The modern style holeset vnt turbo on the joke of a Cummins isx engine is lucky to last 2-3 years. To many issues with the design for example carbon build up to the point of vgt lockup. I have also saw a 280,000 mile MX 13 with the same holeset turbo fail just because a code popped up for turbo not in synch, just replaced the $4500 turbo without even any actual testing. Computerized mechanical components do not rewrite the laws of physics. Just make more points of possible failure. Thanks for your time.
I've got 700k on my original turbo I do have a reman in the shop but haven't used it yet. But I take all my intake and egr off and clean it every four months Clean my dpf and doc every six Haven't had any derates
Well your a shitty mechanic if you replaced ANY component without testing it prior! Proper maintenance and not abusing them they will last 100ks of thousands of miles issue free as evident from how many are still on the road not rebuilt or touched....
I get that Cummins has to do what they have to do to support customers and make money, but having a guy from China speak about quality and warranty probably wasn’t the best move. With Cummins being a major AMERICAN manufacturer of quality products, myself as an American, I don’t feel to hot about all the products from China. I would dare say many people feel the same.
I thought the exact same thing myself. All good until Mr china turns up then it's like OOOKKKKK.... now all the quality hype in the rest of the video means nothing....
Dear commins sir iam from india get tata3118 truck 2012 model commins 24 volve engine the problem is every 8000 k kilometres oil was thik please give me any suggestions to that complent
Driver error has every thing to do with the life of an engine ,this is true on any engine , you keep lugging an engine and then over roving and you get a faulty engine .
Should have a seperate plant just for the remanufacture of ISX turbos. Should never run out of work. Truly a job for life. 😂😂😂

Bs there is one in Columbus Indiana. And alot more in the 🇺🇸
Cummins is phenomenal- I didn't know they did this

That would be sweet to have that service life back in a truck.
Hell
I might even spring for a Pete then
Does anyone else find it lame the guys are using 1 ton hoists to lift 50 lb turbos.

I was thinking the same thing but then again I’m sure they don’t want to pay workmen’s comp
Best motor period!
Bring back the KT series!!!!
More like bring back the old 5.9L 12 valve

Cjrm3gtr your best bet is a Cummings distributor or the Dodge, Chrysler dealership.
I personally liked the VT 903 Cummins
Any chance the new Cummins R-2.8 for the Wrangler will be able to fit in the Cherokee XJ. It's lighter than my 4.0 and gets better gas mileage.
im sure it can might need to fab some mounts

This going to become very popular soon, in my country no new diesel engine are being sold or produced to cut down on the exhaust pollution.

@Cjrm3gtr How do you have a 97 24v? You sure you dont mean a 98.5?
I’ve been waiting on 2 cylinders, 2 pistons and a cyl head from Cummins for 2 weeks now and they are telling me that it will take up to six weeks
So much for the instant replacement they claim instead of reman the original part
Make a factory like that in Guyana because nothing gets rebuild here

Take it apart and clean it if the vgt doesn’t move. It’s very easy to do.

Cummins has a plant in China and many parts are made there and then imported. The entire 2.8L engine is made in China.

super videos funny..
Add curry powder to the oil fill hole.
Also, if you sell 12 valve engines from 93', what would it cost? In USD.
Cjrm3gtr about $7000 to $8000.
When did Cummins start painting there engines detroit green ?
According to a mate who paints them, the stock engines (those which aren’t being built to order) are painted that colour.
Industrial
Makes them last longer.
Is that why they blow up so often?
Rick Sadler show me where cummins are blowing up left and right you must be mistaken with power stroke
Cody Yellott lol
You must own a 6.0l ford! 450k miles original 12 valve zero issues still hauling
Russian ZIL's with Cummins engines? I realy surprised.
