In the buildup to the Goodbye Random Jean ep I was convinced I was initially wrong about her and that she was actually a lovely person who's simply awkward. It was a great lie. This is the one that finally convinced me that The Human Fish was right all along, and my first instincts were true: Random Jean is a narcissist who's only 'fun' if she's the center of attention. Otherwise she pouts and sabotages. A real drag.
lol. anthony atamanuik is always late. I remember in an early episode he got pissed and denied it when someone said that about him and he has proven them right in every subsequent appearance.
It's not just being awkward, Jean never laughs or engages with anyone unless she feels her ego is being fed. Bad timing is one thing, this episode seems to reveal she has bad intentions.
I feel like everyone gives Random Jean a hard time but like, 99% of the people who give her shit would also not be funny when stacked up against a dozen professional comedians.
The problem is she didn't know how to pick her spots and when she did it was cringe worthy. She got greedy with piping up and it rarely added anything. She also came off very pretentious.
They invited Jean to be the show, they should have trained her up a bit in improv... at least to know not to step on people. Seems like they immediately knew it was a mistake when they invited her to be a regular but rather than adjust and accept, they despised her from the onset.
This reminds me of that video where they remove the laugh track of tv shows to show you the show isn't that funny. The whole awkwardness of you laughing while the panel has dead pan expression can stifle the laughter. If they do it again I will skip that episode.
