You can just feel that Kyle isn't one of those people who just do it for clout, he's doing something he loves, and you then see the story behind each song and the emotion with it.

Man this song made me cry, my dad left me and my mom when i was 18. Making my mom feel helpless, and so I had to help her throughout many years after. This song catches that feeling I've had throughout the whole experience, thank you for creating this

These lyrics are downright depressing, but why does it sound so good?
"Now I know the reason why you were gone every night" the line is from an older song BLD made, but it's also fit in this song well and makes the song for me even better.
yes, it was the same concept in the original version of that track (which was written probably 15+ years ago), and it always stuck with me. That's why I knew it had to be there when I went in to make 1990. It was part of my history, and needed it's moment. Here we are. Much love.

@ponkypink3147 when I just read that, it made sense. 1990 was the first album I did after I got sober, and the thought was that it was going back to the roots, hence the use of a few of the old songs.

I always loved bld and all their albums but 1990 hits on another level. It’s the most consistent album with every track being some of the most focused and well written songs of his career, breathing life into 2 songs from their debut ep and having some great melodies, hooks, and guitar solos. I’m looking forward to the XL version with great expectations and the BLD album deluxe as well. Loved this band since 2017 and will forever.
