  • On 10 August 2024, the rugged terrains of DeWildt Koppies in Mmakau played host to the inaugural TUFF ONE Enduro Challenge, a game-changing event that redefined the spectator experience in off-road racing.
Organized by Brett Stevens, known for his work with the South African National Enduro, The TUFF ONE was designed to bring fans closer to the action, creating an environment where spectators could follow the riders throughout the course.
Unlike traditional Enduro races where riders disappear from view shortly after the start, The TUFF ONE kept the action within arm's reach of the spectators. The course featured a series of challenging loops, including the Iron, Bronze, Silver, and the formidable TUFF (Gold) Loop, each pushing riders to their limits on the unforgiving terrain.
The event wasn’t just about the thrill of the ride; it also emphasized community involvement. Spectators turned out in droves, making it a family affair, with participants encouraged to bring donations for local community initiatives. The TUFF ONE’s strong focus on charity and community support added a meaningful layer to the event, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.
With sponsorship from Maxxis Tyres, KTM Raceworkx, and Leatt Protectives, The TUFF ONE was a resounding success, setting a high bar for future Enduro challenges. The next The TUFF One Hard Enduro event is scheduled to take place at ODI Stadium on 14 September 2024.
