You deserve all those dollars for this question. That should be the first thing to appear on the manual and it should be written for the technically challenged people like me. Thank you very much. You made my life so much easier.
Sr. If I had more likes to give you I would. I've owned the PX-5S for almost 3 years and have never explored all of the available options. Thank you for the time you took to make this series.
This did help a lot. I’m still trying to program a slider or knob to change octaves….I can’t seem to get any function without a CC in front of it to work…
Hi Chuck, and thank you for these great, informative videos. I based my PX-5S purchase mainly on your videos and recommendations. I love the sound of my PX-5S using headphones, but can't get a good live sound to save my life. How do you amplify your PX-5S in a live setting? Many thanks!!!!!
True... but for me, I want the knobs to be used for EQ only. Each knob's physical pointer shows me where on the turning radius I am for EQ. If I use K2 to adjust any other parameter (for the sake of speed), that knob's physical pointer position changes.... that's what I don't want... but that's me.
Yes, that's a faster way... but I prefer the minus key because Knob2 is already where I want it to be (I'm one of the few who actually looks at where the Knobs are set at).
I've found that it works better for me to use CC7 - Volume instead of CC11 - Expression because I'm able to set the initial volume on each zone to a default starting value such as volume = 000. Then I can "touch" each of the sliders to adjust the volume up to where I want it. When I was using CC11-Expression each of the zones came in full blast at the set volume in the zone mixer. I was previously using the volume in the zone mixer as the maximum volume for that zone. Now, I'll have to change the max value of the slider controller in the common menu.
Thanks for commenting about CC7! I also wasn't fond of all tones starting at full volume, but turning down the stage zone volume limited the maximum volume available to CC11 expression. CC7 is the solution; its maximum volume isn't limited by the stage setting volume, letting me configure the initial volume setting per zone.

Works 4 me..Thanks Chuck
nice one chuck! how did you figure this stuff out?
Yes, that's a faster way... but I prefer the minus key because Knob2 is already where I want it to be (I'm one of the few who actually looks at where the Knobs are set at).
Thanks you so much for figuring that out! What about controlling the volume of an external midi keyboard?
Thank you very much!
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Thank so much! very clear!

When you're in Edit mode, the knobs have no other function other than data entry, so it wouldn't matter what position they're in.
Thank you!

(thank you!=)
Use Knob2 for data entry instead of "holding down the minus key"
