In this lesson, you will learn about the atomic theory of matter as put forth by John Dalton at the dawn of the study of chemistry. In Dalton's theory, atoms form the foundational building blocks upon which all matter is made. This explains the vast variety of substances found in nature, and forms the basis upon which we can understand how chemical reactions can proceed, to rearrange the atoms in various substances (reactants) to for products.
I'm always blown away by the enthusiasm and the humanity and care shown by this teacher, his patience, let alone his professional skills. He strikes a special fiber of gratitude in me, I'm moved in a very special way by his focus in the "transmission" side of his work. I think he could teach me whatever matter and make me still listen to him. He's a lucky man by being able to connect himself to something essential in people who are eager to learn, which belong to the brightest side of human spirit. Thanks ! 👌
I really appreciate the kind and heartfelt message! Ultimately we’re all on this rock just trying to make it a better place and I am extremely lucky to be able to teach and reach an audience like this. And I very much appreciate the nice thought, please do stay in touch! Jason
I agree with you. He makes everything tangible and real and easy to understand, unlike my professors when I was in college.
His humble humanity is what makes him a grand teacher.
@@samirayadgar8197 Really appreciate the kind words!
I love how you explained in detail how the force holding atoms together are millions and millions and millions times stronger than force of gravity holding us to earth. I’ve been looking for the video where you drew it out using 10 to the 36 power.
He will live forever with humanity in the group of "TEACHERS"
If someday UA-cam would make "Best Online Teacher Award", I would definitely choose this guy. Sir, I just thank you so much!
Inspired by your passion and enthusiasm, this year, at the age of 42, I am starting electrical engineering college in October. I live in Eastern Europe, in a former communist country. I graduated from high school of fine arts, and I was firmly convinced that I was too stupid for the field of exact sciences. By watching your channel I discovered that I am in fact quite intelligent, and I have a surprising love for numbers and math. I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Christian.
Thank you so much and good luck in your studies!
Bravo, Cristi!
Dear Sir,
In one video you said you are not a genious. I swallowed all the videos you have posted! Who am I to judge your statement but a person that explains a math in so poetic way, for me is a genious! Being one of a very very few in the history of Earth who was a flight controller of NASA Challenger space craft, is compared to Mozart, period!! Your heart and soul is in total equilibrium with Math and Math poetry is a function of genious! Dear Sir, thank you so much!
You getting more and more interested in your teachings. I'm learning a whole lot from you sir. God bless 🙏 you for such great knowledge.
these lessons are truly satisfying thanks, i do hope you carry on with the basic chemistry series
Atomic Theory explained very well. Thank you.
Oddly enough, I am learning a lot from you. Very interesting material.
Ahah! When you're an awesome Science teacher and you can't teach cuz the kids don't listen, you take it online so the knowledge is still out there!! Love those courses, mostly the one about the periodic table.
I think you are the best teacher that I have come across on UA-cam so far ... Your knowledge is profound and unparalleled..,.. and you are doing a really wonderful job❤❤❤
I can only say you are the MASTER of teaching techniques.
Best teacher I know 🇳🇴
Thanks so much!
Your videos are a great solution to address the teacher shortage. If only we could get school board members to view your videos.
Thanks gibson for the well-explanation
Learning so much from you thank you
When will u make a video with atomic theory problems . Also a big big thanks for these amazing videos ♥️
Você faz parecer fácil aprender química!
You are the best teacher ive ever seen☆
This is interesting. Thanks for sharing your knowledge to us Sir Gibson!
Welcome!
@@MathAndScience Either too much Hydrogen or too much Oxygen - your figures add up to 101%. Maybe modern chemistry has changed since my first foray into it last century or maths has expanded like the Universe.

This is great!!!! thank you!
Wow thank you 😊 professor for this information 🙏🙏❣️❣️
Hello, great teacher
I really agree with your positive view of him. I cannot get your numbers of percentage to total 100%/ is this meaning that I missed the point?
You are a honest man
THANK YOU
THANK YOU... SIR...!!!
With utmost respect, I'm so sorry for any inconvenience I might have caused here and some videos are hidden videos how can I get access to it
Nice 👍
Nice 😊
@Maths and science pls couldn't understand how to download your videos, sir
I need the very first videos. I just wanna start learning chemistry.
Will be very glad if you can help out here, sir
Thanks in advance sir
Not only great but getting better too ....
when i read the 'law of multiple proportions' for the second time, i was thinking of NH3 and NH2... Is that a wrong example?
Shouldn't the mass percentages of H and O add up to 100% ( ? ) if I add up the percentages shown here: 11.11% plus 89.99, it gives 101.1% ( please help me with this )
Sorry should have written 88.89!
@@MathAndScience thanks ..
It's all about proportions
I think this multiple proportion rule doesn't apply to molecules with different composition.
co2 3 g c+4g o +4 g o =11 g co2
Atoms can only bond and connect together only in a whole ratio 13:50
18:16 law of constant composition

co 3 g c +4 g o =7 g co

co 3 g + 4 g o = 7 g co
