GLORY OF GOD! This is about the 10th video I've watched on this and I can finally turn a simple stomp box on and off in FL Studio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the record, these instruction work in there too. The key was making sure the thing you want to turn on and off is set to "off". THANK YOU! This is so clear - I actually understand this thing now to do what I want it to do and what I got it for! I can't tell you how happy I am that I don't have to send this back as it seems quite powerful and just what I needed. Got it for about $80 too. Okay, I'm rambling - but thanks.
I really have to thank you, this is really the only video I found that really explained me why I could not make it work the way I expected! Behringer should hire you to write their manuals
Your video just taught me how to get it working with Amplitube 5. I needed to set it so that buttons 1 thru 5 selects the presets, and buttons 6 thru 10 turns the stomp pedals on and off. It works perfectly now. Thanks a million.
I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much!!!!! I've been struggling with this for days. More and more suspecting that it was the programming of the FCB1010 that was messy rather than Ableton and other programs. Again, you are a true hero!
Made what looked like a complicated process relatively simple. This was really very good, I was very quickly able to do what I needed with Guitar Rig using your methods. Thanks
Thank you very much !!! you're the only one person who explains the hidden power of this pedal board :) You success where Behringer fail to be clear in the possibility of this gear.
Thanks for sharing this, it helped me to decide to buy one. I look forward to using it when it arrives. You made this process look simple, thanks again...Ray
Excellent video! Thank you. Well explained. I needed to do this for a Uni assessment. I've watched a couple of other videos but this explained the process really well. Thanks heaps again.
Thank you so so much for this video. You brought me closer to understanding this thing after a very frustrating couple of days since I am a total MIDI noob.
Great video. I followed this and was able to program the buttons to toggle effects on and off in STL Amphub in ableton 11. I had a problem when I turned the fcb1010 off -it didn't hold the settings. I thought I must have done something wrong wrong so reprogrammed it and had the same issue. Has anyone else had this type of problem? Is there a battery somewhere on a board that needs replacing? 🤔
Thanks for this superb video. I used to use the sysex editor (two different ones) for the FCB1010 that people made... one day, they stopped sending my changes directly to the pedal. And I have no idea why. So, the only solution was learning how to program the messages directly on the pedal itself... and while it's time-consuming, it WORKS. Your video basically explains how to set a pedal to Toggle mode, which is really helpful. The one thing I hate though, is the LED light on each pedal doesn't reflect the Toggle state. It stays on. Behringer thing, I guess. That said... I know how to do Note Mode, and CC mode (Trigger, not Toggle or Momentary). This was the missing piece I needed. If you feel so inclined, maybe you could do a few other videos showing how to program Notes (Momentary), or CCs (Trigger, not Toggle)... this video was definitely well-explained and useful. Thanks so much!
This and the looper vid are a brilliant! Thanks 🙏. I actually found that it didn’t quite work with the CC 127,0 values. It was alright when you pressed the footswitch on and off - the effect toggled on and off as expected. The problem I found is when using more than 1 effect and toggling one on then the other, then switching the first one off. It would take 2 pedal presses to get the 2nd effect off. I don’t know if this is a firmware bug or some such. I actually found it better to use a single note value per effect. So for 3 effects you’d have notes 0,1,3. Resending the note value would toggle the effect to on or off and no worries if another effect had been engaged. That said, this video and the your looper vid were pretty much essential for me to set my FCB up and learn how to set it up. Thanks!
Been running into an issue where it says I am conflicting with the previous mapping. I was able to set buttons 1 & 2 to trigger audio clips 1 & 2..But when I try setting it up for clip 3, it gives me that error and the option to overwrite.
Would it be possible for me to press pedal 5 one time to launch a clip (say a drum loop) and then press it a second time to pause the loop? Play and pause are different buttons in ableton so basically want the “on” button press to activate the loop and the “off” to deactivate the loop
Hi I really appreciate the video. I am having trouble getting from the programming of the fcb1010 to having it be read by Ableton. When I am in the midi screen I am not getting input values or any response from the daw. Am I missing some step here?
Great video - I bought an fcb after watching this as it seemed doable. I programed everything as per the video but couldn’t get Ableton to work with it. Not sure what else to do!?
i did everything as you did in the video but my fcb1010 doesnt seem to be sending any signal out at all. i verified my midi input with a midi signal from another instrument but when i try the 1010 i see nothing, ugh please help!
Can i send this midi messages through the pedal-switch-kable? Or did i have to use the midi in and out? What Midi-Remote-Script i have to download. Can someone help me to bring that stuff working?
how to connect fcb1010 to ableton? do you use midi to usb or midi plug to soundcard... sorry for my english... i need enlightment for this... thank you...
Thanks very much, you allowed us to get to work immediately rather than hanging ourselves with guitar cables trying to figure this thing out! Question: Can you use the FCB 1010 to advance to the next scene in Ableton? We don't want to advance to a specific scene, we want to advance to the next scene, hopefully with only one footpress. Any ideas?
Hello Thanks for the video. I have a question. do we need an upgrade before all of this. The FCB1010 ı have, hasnt got an upgrade. thats why I guess it cant communicate with the computer.
Thanks for the video. Useful to see your worked examples as the user manual from Behringer is sorely misses this, no wonder there are so many how to videos of the FCB1010 as the user manual is poorly written.
Amazing help, thank you. I’m having this issue however: the fcb buttons seem to turn off a midi mapped parameter fine, but when turning a parameter on I have to press the midi mapped fcb button twice if a different fcb button is already “selected” (red light above the button). What’s up???
Hi Guys, I need help. I'm using FCB1010 with Amplitude 4 in a standalone fashion and thanks to syx files I get from online, it works perfectly. However when I open AT4 as a plug-in on Logic Pro X, it does not see FCB1010 and when I press buttons on FCB, nothing happens. (Btw I am new to Apple and Logic Pro) is there any way or settings on Logic to solve that issue, or do I need to do something else? Any help is much appreciated. Update: I've changed my FCB1010's midi channel as "2" by using on-board controllers (footswitches, no editor used) still, no joy 🙁 Cheers
Hey man the fcb1010 is not showing up in Ableton I already did the whole setup on the device but now it’s not showing up in the program. I connected it midi to usb. Is there something else I need too do
Hi There, How can I use my newly bought FCB1010 with Amplitube 4 in my windows 10 PC? The User Manual is so complicated. Is there any easy way out there? I saw some editor videos but not sure which one should I use? Any help is much appreciated
Hello Phill, thanks for the video. I reset and configure the pedal as you showed, but I can't midi map with Abbleton. I am using a MIDI to USB cable as well, but it doesn't work. I also downloaded a FCB1010 Mountain Utilities, but I don't think I have to fill all the charts with numbers right?. I already did that with the video. So, I don't what is going on. It would be great if you could help me. I am currently using MAC. Have a nice day. Thanks.
I would like to know if you can launch drum loops from the behringer pedal, so you can release the intro, chorus and ending. Sorry if the query is badly redacted, I'm doing it with a translator from the Spanish language. Thank you very much!!!
At least in live 11 you can use Midi notes instead of cc Messages, and you need only one per button, and it allows you to click in things. So with just one button you can turn stuff on and off, start and stop clips. Maybe things we're different six years ago, or maybe I missed the point of using CC messages instead of notes?
Bought ages ago when it first came out. Looked at the manual and couldn't understand a single word how it operated. Even if I did, having to remember what seems like a convoluted mess of arcane button pushes, was too offputting. Went right into the closet. These days I would like to see what uses it could have in Live and Logic so I'm glad to find this even if only use my feet for Play, Stop , Record, lol. I'm wondering how midi channel choice comes into play as you didn't explain. Can I use any midi number and it works? Would using midi #1 interfere with anything? Does the FCB show up as a controller choice in Live & Logic?
Hi I have a strange problem, when I'm in che midi function menu for the setting the numbers are all wrong: if I press 1 on the screen appears the 2, if I press 5 on the screen appears the 2, if I press 6 on the screen appears the 1, if I press 7 on the screen appears the 0, if I press 9 on the screen appears the 1. I don't know if it's for this but I can't get it working with ableton... I tried to reset the fcb1010 a lot of times and nothing change, I tried to press the 6 for have on the screen the number 1 but nothing, I tried to press the 1 but nothing... I'm desperate!!!
When I program my FCB1010 with your method and want to activate or deactivate an effect, track arming or tap tempo I have to press twice. Moreover, all the tracks of my Ableton remain armed at the same time. How to fix it ?
So If you turn on the delay then turn on the compressor then go back to the delay, you do not have to hit the delay switch twice to turn it off? I was trying to apply this technique to the Avid Eleven and it doesn't work like this. I need to load Abelton and try it. Maybe the difference is in how the power button works in Abelton?
hey man thanks for your tutorial. I was wondering if you can give me an info on how to program the expression pedal. I was following the other tutorials which does not work for me and I sort of meshed your and theirs but its not working normally. Whats happening on mine is when ever I press other buttons the expression pedal A returns its range value to 128-127.
Thx a lot for this video. I already watched it a hundred times! One question: Is it possible to program a bank for looping with the numbers 00 to 09? I tried it out and the first switch resembling number 00 doesnt work. Greetings
Very helpful thanks. Now my problem is when I try to map effects, Ableton Live 10 (free trial version, but also other versions I think) always shows Pitch Bend and some value range to go with it. I expect it to show a CC number. It never turns the effect on.
Question: Can you use the FCB 1010 to advance to the next scene in Ableton? We don't want to advance to a specific scene, we want to advance to the next scene, hopefully with only one footpress. Any ideas?
great video, nice to have the functions actually explained while you go through them as opposed to blindly going through a sequence of button programming! I still seem to be having issues with my setup though. I'm trying to get my fcb1010 to play clips in ableton which it is managing to do but it is sending a repeated signal through ie it seems to be repeatedly pressing play on the clip, then there is no way of stopping it other than to delete the midi assignment. have you had any experience of this issue/know how to solve it? Thanks
You also have to select the midi/usb input device in the midi options. Ex. in Live 9 Click: Options>Preferences>Link Midi. Then set Input/Output and Track/Remote for whatever you're using to link the fcb1010 to your pc. Hope that makes sense.
Man I hope you’d come back and do the Logic Pro setup How are you connected to your computer? Using midi into an audio interface? Or using a midi to USB cable?
So say I'm wanting to use this for ableton so I can control things while playing a physical acoustic instrument. One can I map the pedals to control volume and tempo in ableton, so I can simulate a live rubato with my acoustic playing? Or is it only possible to use the buttons to turn effects or loops on and off or playing other ques? Last what if I were to want to still use the FC1010 as a general guitar pedal with my electric sometimes. Would I then have to reset it every time for that and then reprogram it for ableton every time I want to use it in my other projects?
To answer your questions: yes you can control sliders like volume and tempo with the expression pedals in ableton. You also don't have to reset it, just use a separate bank for different applications
Great video. I'd love to see how you implement the expression pedals and control pedals (8 and 9)... I only wish that the pedal LED turned on and off with your plugins, so you could see what effects are on at any one time.
Hi friend, can you share your sysex, i'm having some problems when configuring the pedalboard which don't allow me to turn on and off audio effects. inb4, thanks for the video.
Hi, thanks for your well-explained tutorial. I understood it easily. One problem though - I did everything as you described but after setting up the power icon in EQ Eight (I used this Audio Effect as a test) with MIDI map mode to respond to switch 1 on the FCB1010, it only turns the Audio Effect on. When I press the switch again, it doesn't toggle the effect off. I've read that this is because I need to get the UnO chip, which allows you to program 'toggle' messages. Does your model have the UnO chip installed? Many thanks!
Hi, no, mine is an absolutely stock model. The only thing I can say is to recheck the settings - especially that you have it set to send 127 in CTL1 (button 6) and 00 in CTL2 (button 7). Also, do the midi mapping when the effect is OFF.
Okay, so I've double-checked everything and it's working now. I must have missed something the first time round, so thanks for clarifying that for me. The only thing that I realised I did differently to you was that when I was in Midi Map Mode, I set the min/max value fields to 0 and 127. When watching your video for the second time, I saw that you left it on 64 and 127. Maybe that's what I did wrong...? Anyway, thanks agin for your help. I would love to see another video from you showing how you like to control the Looper in Live with the FCB1010. I've subscribed, so I'll look out for your videos. -Simon

I wonder how many people you've helped in the four years since you published this video.
You helped me today.
Thank you.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. YOU HAVE HELPED ME MAKE A DECISION. SORRY FOR YELLING I'M JUST SO EXCITED
I really have to thank you, this is really the only video I found that really explained me why I could not make it work the way I expected! Behringer should hire you to write their manuals
Thank you so much, I could not figure out my FCB1010 and this is the only video I found that actually explained it and worked for Ableton! 😁

oh my god thank you. Spent so long watching other videos and this got it where I needed it immediately.
You sir, are the man. Scour the whole internet and this is this most helpful video. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this. Had read some guides but I couldn't make sense of it. This really made me understand.
Wow. This is excellent dude. You really broke it down and helped me decide whether this was the product for me. Nice job dude.
THANK YOU! You made it simple and clear for exactly what i wanted to do! Couldnt find any videos quite like this. You're the man
You are a LIFE SAVER!! Thank You!! Took a lot of videos to get to you but well worth the wait. NOW I UNDERSTAND!!
followed from start to finish. Works exactly as needed. They should include a link to this video in the manual ffs. Great work man.
Made what looked like a complicated process relatively simple. This was really very good, I was very quickly able to do what I needed with Guitar Rig using your methods. Thanks
This setup was exactly what I needed to get the FCB working with Guitar Rig 5, THANK YOU!!!!!
Thank you so much Phil, this helped me get to work straight away. Worked like a charm :)
Thank you very much !!! you're the only one person who explains the hidden power of this pedal board :) You success where Behringer fail to be clear in the possibility of this gear.
Wow, I'm glad I found this video. You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman!
Man this is the best video to set this up ever, thank you SO MUCH!!!
Thanks for sharing this, it helped me to decide to buy one. I look forward to using it when it arrives. You made this process look simple, thanks again...Ray
Did you buy?
Excellent video! Thank you. Well explained. I needed to do this for a Uni assessment. I've watched a couple of other videos but this explained the process really well. Thanks heaps again.
Thank you so so much for this video. You brought me closer to understanding this thing after a very frustrating couple of days since I am a total MIDI noob.
Awesome, This was the only tutorial that worked for me. Thanks for taking the time to explain things so clearly!!
Glad to be of help!
Thank you- thank you-- im a noob (54yrs)this worked for me- i appreciate it-
I have never got the expression pedal B to give signal.
thank you for aiding my illiteracy!! this made the process achievable, thank you!!
This is what I was searching for, thanks for the great videos!!!
Thanks!

does something have to be set up in the preferences? mine still isn't working
Thank you so much for this. Literally nothing helped until I found your video.
Thanks for this superb video. I used to use the sysex editor (two different ones) for the FCB1010 that people made... one day, they stopped sending my changes directly to the pedal. Hi @FeralPyg , i have the same trouble, but i don't understand what did you do to solve it. What do you mean by using a single note value per effect?
does anyone understands how to enable live 11 to recognize the fcb1010 as a control surface from the midi preferences ?
i Would like to know too....
thank you...what you did I can't explain in words. I am happy now.
This video helped so much thank you ! now I'm just trying to figure out the expression pedals
I'll look on your channel if there is a tutorial on how to configure the pedals. Thank so much.
Thanks so much for this tutorial. Can you please do one for the FCB1010 and mainstage 3? Thanks

Thx a lot for this video 🙏
Now i'm capable to managed my FCB1010 with Reaper and Bias FX 2 !
hi,would you know why there a dot flashing to the left of the channel numbers it wont go away
I did the programming as you explained however in Ableton the the mini commands are showing up as pitch bends in Ableton. Any idea what I did wrong?
Thanks for the video. Useful to see your worked examples as the user manual from Behringer is sorely misses this, no wonder there are so many how to videos of the FCB1010 as the user manual is poorly written.

Thanks i really had a bad time trying to use my fcb 1010 in windows to controlmy guitar efects, istill working on it
If am programming bank 00 pedals 1-10 with 22-31 what is the sequence for programing bank 02-10 pedals 1-10 since I've already used 22-31?
Many thanks! This is SO helpful!
So you can only assign 18 pedals on ableton? i was hoping to have at least two banks to play with

FWIW, my midi to usb cable needed the OUT plugged into the Input (and vice versa). Following this video exactly got me going.
Can you help me set up the pedal for foot bass note playing using Ableton live?
Really useful and clear tutorial. Thank you :)
My pleasure. If you haven't yet, check out the new video that talks about controlling the Ableton looper.
this still doesnt work for me, anyone got any ideas?
Vert useful tutorial. Do you know if you can change the mode of the buttons on the FCB1010, from on/off switch to momentary?
I would like to know if you can launch drum loops from the behringer pedal, so you can release the intro, chorus and ending. Sorry if the query is badly redacted, I'm doing it with a translator from the Spanish language. Thank you very much!!!
At least in live 11 you can use Midi notes instead of cc Messages, and you need only one per button, and it allows you to click in things. did you have to go to preferences>midi and do anything?
Hi I have a strange problem, when I'm in che midi function menu for the setting the numbers are all wrong:

I don't know if it's for this but I can't get it working with ableton... I tried to reset the fcb1010 a lot of times and nothing change, I tried to press the 6 for have on the screen the number 1 but nothing, I tried to press the 1 but nothing... I'm desperate!!!
I would want to use the least amount of buttons to change parts of a song ie verse ,chorus
When I program my FCB1010 with your method and want to activate or deactivate an effect, track arming or tap tempo I have to press twice. Moreover, all the tracks of my Ableton remain armed at the same time. How to fix it ?

Very helpful thanks. Now my problem is when I try to map effects, Ableton Live 10 (free trial version, but also other versions I think) always shows Pitch Bend and some value range to go with it. I expect it to show a CC number. It never turns the effect on.
same here
Not sure but I think the first part of this video (putting it in MIDI mode) solved that for me.
I've used a few midi pedals so far and I'm realizing that I need more switches for midi mapping in Ableton. Can All switches be mapped?
Can i assign expression pedal to 32 and 33 since you mentioned it accept from 22-31?
Can find the logic setup vid ? Did you go one ? Have you tried mainstage 3 ?
Question: Can you use the FCB 1010 to advance to the next scene in Ableton? We don't want to advance to a specific scene, we want to advance to the next scene, hopefully with only one footpress. Any ideas?
That was terrific sir. Are you still going to do a logic / main stage one?
MASTER WE NEED TO KNOW HOW TO USE THE EXPRESSION PEDAL!!
great video, nice to have the functions actually explained while you go through them as opposed to blindly going through a sequence of button programming! Thanks
great videos ,followed step by step but in midi mode no reaction in ableton, may be someone can help me out on this one greetz rudi
You also have to select the midi/usb input device in the midi options. Ex. in Live 9 Click: Options>Preferences>Link Midi. Then set Input/Output and Track/Remote for whatever you're using to link the fcb1010 to your pc. Hope that makes sense.
@@MindModeApp thanks
Appreciate the video, it was helpful!
Thanks for the help. By the way with Ableton Live 10 it's now working with CC 1 for me.
Man I hope you’d come back and do the Logic Pro setup
How are you connected to your computer? Using midi into an audio interface? Or using a midi to USB cable?
Great video my man ! Any chance you can do a video like this for AmpliTube 4 to help us guitar players?
Great video!
Great videos Phil! thank you!
Hey is there anyway to set this up for Maschine?
SO HELPFUL THANK YOU! Educational too
Great video.
Thanks for such a quick reply. I will double check that I put in your settings and let you know how it goes. Cheers!
-Simon
Did I? I thought I did 0 and 127. Anyway, glad it's working!
