14:14 that was me and my wife at the Cartier in the Miami Design District. We were straight up ignored for a long time. I wanted to go to Cartier to figure out which Tank my wife wants so I can buy it when the time comes (milestone anniversary, I get a big bonus check, etc.). Compare to the Breitling boutique a few hundred feet away. Guy saw I wearing a 38mm watch with a small-ish wrist. He said, “I have small wrist, too. There are watches too big for you here, but don’t be afraid of watches over 40.” Tried on everything and I gained a new perspective on Breitling.
Wow….the hardship of not being able to walk into Cartier on your European vacation. Can’t imagine what that struggle must feel like. Lol just fucking around lighten up ladies.
The new Air-King has such a nice case, it makes sense they would use it for the Milgauss. Superior case, movement and clasp. If only they would get rid of the polished center links I’d be thrilled.
Awesome video!!! totally agree with several poitns especially with the whole luxury going experience. Also I don't know if its me but I feel like the portrait behind Christian is crooked. My OCD was killing me haha
I wish Rolex re-released the 6062. If they did I would think they probably wouldn't create a new model, but instead adapt the day date into a triple calendar movement, and in that day date case with the presidential bracelet, yellow gold, would absolutely destroy the watch world. OR they could introduce it in the Cellini line, put it in a slim osyter case, it already has the moonphsase so they can add the triple calendar, keep it on a strap or introduce a jubilee, and that would be killer too. Unfortunately I'm more likely to get struck by lightning than for any of these releases happening.
I think your points are valid, but in many ways have had the opposite effect. I just don't "aspire" to own anything in the Rolex lineup. They are just uninteresting and (in my opinion), have kind of turned the brand into something I don't even care to own. Boring and "snobbish" for lack of a better word. If I happen to bump into someone with a Rolex on the wrist, it's "hey, nice watch" then you don't know what you're going to get conversationally. If I see a longines, nomos, Tudor, even a Tissot out in the wild, there's a person I'm interested in a conversation with. I know the brands I listed are not "on par" with the all mighty Rolex, but really who cares. To me, they have turned their brand from the aspirational or "retirement" brand into the owner that won't shut up about Rolex.
My dad had me selling gems and African art at his flea market stand to fund a trip to Europe. Well, he lied. But I got good business insights 🙄🙏 R.I.P, probably currently scamming someone in hell, love you dad.
A rainbow Milgauss with different sapphire indices would be a fun thing, think Ball rainbow, since the tool aspect is no longer what not that relevant to the watch than the pop of color it offers by the second hand, thoughts?
On the topic of how luxury brands treat customers in stores, I recently had an afternoon to kill and went to a bunch of watch stores in a mall in my city, ranked them best to worst- best was rolex, worst was cartier
Too bad 19:51 was a fake, I was on a list for Z-blue Milgauss and would have welcomed a thinner Milgauss with crown guards. Instead I'm left with an option to go second hand only...
I suppose it is fitting that the Milgauss contributed it’s case to the previous Air-King, and now it may be receiving the case from the latest AK. Personally, I prefer the old case over the new.
The epitome of not nice boutique staff is Hermes. Neither my wife nor I will ever set foot in one again. Cartier - fantastic. Gucci -- super nice staff. Hermes....sucks EVERY time in every city.
My Place Vendome Brequet story. My wife and I were looking in the windows and a sales guy came out and INSISTED we come in and look. He was so nice. He knew we weren't buyers that day but brought out all sorts of tourbs etc and talked with us for 45 minutes.
It’s interesting how many watch UA-camrs talk about these high end brands when in reality most people can’t afford this, including me. I mean there are interesting things about the brand but I don’t really understand the whole hype behind trying to guess what comes out next. Too fanboyish for me, but then again maybe if I could afford it I would also be the same.😂
I like walking into luxury stores in my shorts and flip flops and messing with the nasty attitude: no one ever says anything--which makes it all that much more delightful!
I’m so sick of walking into luxury shops now honestly. I work in an ad for a few Swiss brands and some others and it’s so obvious people feel the same about asking to look at stuff.
I collected my Datejust from the Rolex Boutique today, when chatting with the assistant about the new releases coming up, she mentioned that the 70th anniversary of the Daytona they’re definitely doing something with Platinum - whether she knows that from internal information or simply through rumours is a different matter so it’ll be interesting to see if the Oyster Flex plat does come to fruition
Go to a sub 1000 watch store. And you will see nothing but Rolex inspired watches and knockoffs. Porche hasn't really changed their design. It works for them. Usually ppl hating on Rolex can't get Rolex..

Michael: "I thought you were realizing I was rising to god status"
Christian: "No, quite the opposite."

I might be wrong but when the 116600, last of the 40mm Sea-Dwellers, was released it had a unique case and it was only in the catalogue for 3 years.
Great episode gents, looking forward to seeing what actually releases.... Maybe we get an all gold explorer 1 in 36mm 🤔

When you make 1 million + watches a year efficiency is a must.
My predictions: every watch is now left handed like the sprite

Wow, Theo has his fan on the show as a guest. 😅
The milgauss that was based on the Submariner would be a crazy reissue (ref. 6541).
I'd get one immediately. It would be an anti magnetic dive watch. Especially if it was 38mm.

Milgauss doesn’t get updated, the entire line will be discontinued and the leaks, the whole thing, is fake. Can’t tell you how I know I just know.
Called it about Milgauss case. Look my comment under the previous video on the topic ;)
All Rolex's look the same, especially from a distance. They only have basically two models, the Submariner and the OP.
I have a theory. I think Rolex gets homage so much and replicas are all over Instagram that I think Rolex watches get spoiled so fast.
