Wow...great work! I just got a 1993 Ranger 4x4 in straight, rust free condition and I'm going to make a crawler out of it. This video really helps! Thank you!
I have a 2 wheel drive Ranger Edge , I always like the newer Ranger . I finally got one , I'm going to keep it mostly stock because it's a sweet little Sport's truck as is . And the 4 liter gets up and goes so well I don't even want to V8 swap it .
Badass I have an old 1994 mazda b2300 I keep thinking about doing a solid axle swap on. The 2.3 died at 330k and can't decide if I should 4.0 swap it, 302, or 5.3 ls
Hello I love your video could maybe list all the parts put in to your ford ranger please I would really love to do the same thing but I don't know all and understand all the parts you listed thank you so much
If you go to explorerforum.com and do a search for rockrangerII you should find my build threads on just about all of the modifications I made. Some of the parts I have on website Northpeak4x4.com
Why didn't you flip your shackle hangers if you were already custom fabbing them? I hear it gives you a ton more travel and articulation, especially with long shackles like you have.
If I flip the shackle then I would need a leaf with significantly more arch to keep the lift height I need. No doubt it would give me more travel if I did.
@@northpeak4x4 Indeed. Or... and hear me out: Low CG build :3 ((Just a side note: you could've make the shackle hanger extra low while still being flipped. I mean, you WERE already custom fabbing stufff, which is extra cool and the perfect time to min-max design philosophy :D ))
@@northpeak4x4 yeah I bet.seems like a lot of the heavy hitters are west coast.alot of cool stuff out that way.ive got a 93 explorer.havent made much progress lol but have been knuckle deep already.ttb is a funky system but I dig it.still love solid axles tho.thanks man
Just the factory block. But since I made this video I made new frame mounts for the spring and shackle that gave me 2.5 inches of lift. Then I removed the block and kept the same ride height.
The front is all custom built by me. I used 8 inch Skyjacker TJ coil springs. Shocks are cheap 14 inch travel (they suck). Then I modified the factory upper coil mounts to accept the TJ coils. I cut the stock shock mount off and welded an F250 shock mount in its place. The rear is 6 inch Skyjacker ranger springs with a longer shackle I made to the same length as a belltech 6400. I am still using the factory block.
thats a great truck
