Ace Enders offers the Ever So Sweet History of The Early November in 2004 in this APV Exclusive interview. WhenThe Early November frontman #AceEnders came in front of the #APTV cameras, he reminisced about his past and the impetuousness of his youth.
“#FallOutBoy were probably one of our best friends,” reveals Enders. “We toured a lot with them in those years. We were very close with them: We would do skating rinks, we would do VFWs, sleep at people’s houses. Whatever DIY-booked places, we’d play. It was a really cool time.
More importantly, he discusses the new leases his band have, both to live and to give.
“Now it’s a much different thing,” he reveals. “Instead of people being 16 who are finding out about us, people who are finding out about us now are in their late twenties. It’s a different world, but I still try and be thoughtful in connecting with them. Everything I do [in public] affects everything I do [musically]. You put social media into that, and it’s a crazy thing.”

2004 I discovered emo. I started driving and my friend made me a mixtape for driving him around so much. Underoath, Say Anything, Spitalfield, Saves the Day, and Hot Rod Circuit were all on there. Thanks, Coco.

I saw TEN in Chicago tonight and he’s still one of the best to ever do it.
There was a time in University, back in 2010, when I discovered the The Mother, the Mechanic, and the Path. It was around 1 am on a school night, but I could not stop listening to it. Once I finished listening to the album, I started it back up focusing on the third disk, and repeated it a few times. Once the sun rose, I passed out and I ended up missing all of my classes that day.
No regrets. That third disk is something I still listen to, start to finish.
I will never forget buying the cd at Best Buy when it first came out. Listening to it in my living room with my girlfriend. 2006 was a good time. I miss those days.
That whole album is a journey
hes talking about studio sounds. "The rooms too cold" basically needs to be the benchmark gold standard snare sound for all recordings. sooo damn good!
Chris Badami of Portrait Recording where the album was tracked is a drummer. When you have a drummer running a studio the drum sounds are just better and the entire Drive Thru catalog that was recorded there is a testament to that.
Every time I start to obsess over a band, I learn about the band members. The thoughts behind specific songs, how they felt about this song and how they were mentally challenged writing for that song.
This band is so underrated and under appreciated for the through that goes into every song. This band is awesome.
I heard “I want to hear you sad” loved the sound and listened to every album except the 3 disk in one night. I woke up it was dark out. No regrets.
I like his honesty when he said if I can't sing on tune I want people to know it. How many singers would be honest enough to say that
Most singers these days use auto tune. But Ace always uses his weak voice to make the music that much more emo.

Honestly I love For All of This, that record stayed in my friends old 88’ Volkswagen Jetta for probably the entire school year. I remember listening to that on the way to school every morning, but I do like all the other albums as well especially the rooms to cold!

I was so excited for the 3 disc release. But even still, looking back. I could pick maybe like 15 or 16 and it would have made a great follow up. But asking any fan to dive into 3 discs, was a big ask. And I'm a huge TEN fan. This is just my opinion, a lot of people like it.
The mother, mechanic, path album REALLY got me through some shit when it cam e out...its funny, now its 2020, almost 15 years later and that album is still getting me through ahard time...im so drunk and, I love this fucking band. Thanks for always being here for me
Love the authentic and real ness he brings to this interview and you can truly see happiness pain and every emotion in between in his voice and facial expressions not hiding it or trying to be fake... Ace you’re the man! Love the music and always have since i first heard it in the early 2000s...

Big shout out for Ace to give props to Copeland and Count the Stars. Sad that those bands dissolved before they got started. Wonder what he's talking about with the drama around Baby Blue. I've never heard that before.
It was a controversy with The Get Up Kids, since they used the line “I Don’t Want You To Love Me Anymore” it seems like the management of TGUKs sued them and basically got money from them
