Thank you so much for the countless hours of entertainment last year Jack. You have not only entertained me you have given me fuel to pursue my dreams and on that note I will be back in the stats next year to buy my new truck and begin my adventure. Take care mate, and once again thank you
Jack, I'm going through all of your videos one by one and liking a lot of the music added in. Like this very video and at 40 minutes you play this song once again. I wish your music selections were posted for each video. So many of the songs I have not heard and would like to be able to find those songs and hear them in full. Thank You
I like to watch these videos while I'm working in my studio. I don't know why but it inspires me to watch others at work. Keeps me going at what I'm doing.
These vids get better with each passing day. I started from the beginning, and am playing "catch-up". I love the long vids. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Another free ride and loved every minute of it...looking forward to our next Trip...Take care out there and never drive faster than your Guardian Angel can Fly...
Lol ... I was just coming down to comment on the guy to your left who turned his markers on for you for you, and you mentioned it. It's good to see professional consideration and courtesy!
We are loving all your films Jack, keep them coming please (can't get enough). Thank you for sharing your travels and tribulations - be them good and bad. Wishing you a wonderful and prosperous year ahead from Australia.
Happy new year!! Greeting from Belgium, I love your life, I love your vlogs. Those 46 minutes just flew by, Nice camera angles, nice music, great editing. Keep on trucking. Keep on filming.
Thanks for th e ride Jack you are very entertaing as you drive. Not to sure how old this is but with all the pressure issues you are having with your coolant tends to make me think you have a Water pump on the way out as the worn impellor creates an air pocket and then dispurses as you slow down to increase in the Header tank. You can buy a pressure release cap to speed up the air build up with out loss of fuid. Keep up the good work and as always keep safe from Australia. BOB.
Happy New year Indiana Jack!!! I still think your gonna break down and end up getting a new truck. LoL. I smell it in the air all the way from Cleveland Ohio!!
Thanks for another great video! Would sure love to hear some cb jabber! Brings back memories riding with my dad and with my grandpa! Keep them coming and keep the shiny side up!
Firstly, Happy New Year!!! Excellent video! Great journey! Wonderful experience riding along. Sure looking forward to all your videos in 2015...so keep doing what you're doing and be safe.
hi Jack,,, happy new year to you, hoping 2015 is a good trucking year for you,,, fingers crossed for your coolant problem,, great video think it is the best one i have watched, all the best drive safe,,,,,,,,
Jack I would agree with those who say check the simple stuff first, and if your temp gauge isn't showing an overheat condition then the first step is the cap. That is where I would start. Safe travels to you, I enjoy "riding along" with you.
Your videos get me excited about potentially starting a career in trucking! I'm saving up money, and researching everything I need to learn, before I give Knight a call. I think I will be all set in about 4 months, or so. =D keep on trucking!!
Good Morning Jack I hope your truck is much better and I know what you mean by knowing the difference in performance of an engine after you have driven her for so many thousands of miles , I wanted you to know that i'm an older driver like you and we are like our vehicles the older they get the more aches and pains we get just like they do the more miles they get on them , I like your style old man and style is something we only get over the years so be safe and I look forward to your next run. God bless
About your comment about I-40 curving around the city of Memphis. The reason for the detour is back when they were building I-40 the environmentalist threw up a big stink because the route was to go through a park by the name of Overton Park (Overton named after one of the founders of the city) and the Memphis zoo is located there. The city had purchased the land and quite a few resident had to move and their home were demolished. Some of those lots are still empty to this day. Years of court battles ensued over the project and in order to complete the project so that you could go coast to coast TDOT proposed the detour to I-240 around the city with a connect back to I-40 on the east side of the city. Just a little history about why I-40 through Memphis is the way that it is. I am originally from Memphis.
I had a long conversation with Ean Hannah today and he is so happy with his T700, he tell me the saving in fuel from the truck and the apu are working very much in his favour. I can see you in Kenworth
That's a big question I have with trucking. Where do you park when there is not a rest or truck stop close. can you do a video on that question? Thanks...
Jack I get that brain freeze to at times. It's a age thing all right. You went to the town where I was at my last Duty Stationed, I retired from the Navy in Corpus Cristi.
You're right about the I 40 turn. It was originally supposed to go straight. But, they would have had to destroy the Memphis Zoo and Overton park (most famous/beloved park in the city). The citizens sued and won. So, half of the I 240 loop was simply renamed I 40..the half you drove on in this video. The few miles of what was *going to be I 40* was renamed "Sam Cooper Blvd." Typical, that the government started construction before right of way concerns and litigation were resolved. The unused pillars that were going to carry 40 over mid-town Memphis were only removed a couple years ago, some 30 years after they were built. They were never used, only served as a monument to incompetence. LOL
I feel that it is not easy to understand how the air braking system works in a combination vehicle. Is there no parking brakes in a trailer without the spring brakes? Need to chock the wheels everytime they park because they have no spring brakes in them?
Jack at your next oil change have a oil sample sent to a lab to see if anti freeze is in the oil that would tell you if you have a more serious problem but I am thinking that the thermostat is not opening all the way causing the overheating problem. HAPPY NEW YEAR
another great vlog thank you for doing them for us , i not watched your 1's yet i hope & wish you nothing but great luck. t..c. stay safe , watch out for idiots that don't watch out for our truckers
I wasn't going to put my pennyworth in regarding the coolant loss problem as I am not a vehicle mechanic/technician but then I thought I might as well! If it's not visibly leaking via hoses or suchlike then it must surely be loosing it via the cylinders? Or is it compression getting into the coolant system and causing excessive pressure?
I heard you say you went to Volvo in El paso?...there is a cummins in El Paso as well. I don't know if you knew or not...just thought I'd bring it up for future reference.
Hey Jack, Love your videos. I'm living in Ireland and would like to know who the music was by on your video 'Keeping Old Red Cool". I hav'nt heard that music before and would like to get the name of the artists. Again, I enjoy your videos and keep it up> Kindest regards Brendan
happy new year for you and your family.........we have original Volvo engine in our European trucks,.......America have commons diesel?? keep on trucking..........
Good morning Jack, I cant believe nobody can fix you leak problem.. I am a 45 year radiator repair shop owner. now retired. OK here goes. "if you are not overheating on the temperature guage and it is coming out of the overflow tube and dropping on the ground then it is only one thing. THE CAP IS BAD! Simple fix , buy a new cap. NOTE: it cant be anything else if it is coming out of the overflow..Caps are only good for a couple hundred thousand miles..
I been trying to find out what Volvo model your truck is, but, i cant seem to find a video where you tell it. It looks like one of those VNL670 or maybe a 780?
I really enjoy your videos, and I'm wondering what's the criteria for when to decide to park it and move on? It's always nice to have no payments, but starting fresh is good too if you're beset with breakdowns.
I have a 2008 Volvo. It's a Knight truck. My company bought a bunch of them a wile back and every problem I have had with my truck has been with the coolant. I have had the egr cooler replaced. I had a crack in my tank so it had to be replaced . I had a coolant hose burst open and just recently it has been leaking again and know body can figure out what the problem is.
Happy new year Jack. Perhaps old red is passing coolant thru the block. Time to shave the heads and replace the head gaskets and hoses...i just guessing Jack.
Awesome film (this isn't really a "video" or "Vlog"). Excellent editing and great camera placement. Once I start OTR I'm going to have to borrow some of these. ;) I also hope your engine troubles come to an end. It's a shame these new trucks are so touchy and are constantly "warning" about this and that.
if you read at the end or he may of had it on other vlogs is that he sends these to a company ( professional ) to edit it for him , only reason i trying to help you is ive never ever seen him answer any 1 , he even says that in 1 of vlogs to ask ( blah blah bah bah) he will answer questions , only reason i stay sub'ed is like you said he stuff is awesome there is another trucker this guy will answer anything you ask or want to know great guy name of his channel is trucker jukebox best guy he does every thing for us like i said great person and good luck ZEVIANDER with your trucking a great job if you like to drive see country
Zeviander yes he is 1 of best if not the best ive ever watched with the different angles & great views , but i do know takes a lot of work to edit / clip/ put together for us , i really appreciate all the hard work .
Enjoy your videos. Your over-flow tank hose is split where it connects to the tank. Cut the end off and push it back on. That is not your water leak problem, but also needs to be fixed.
Been a diesel mechanic for 24 years and unless you are having a noticeable power loss or a cylinder miss of any kind (which I have not heard you say) the trouble is most likely a heat exchange problem of some kind. It could be either bugs and or trash obstructing airflow from the front, which appears to be on the borderline of causing your overheat depending on engine load and road speed. Or you could have a partially stuck thermostat which is another possibility. I think your leaking coolant is a result of the overheat through the overflow tank, which is doing exactly what it is supposed to be doing. So I would first suggest making sure that your radiator is not packed full of bugs or anything like that go from there.
blown head gasket. cracked head or o-ring from the sleeves. Any of them, means a head removal. Do get it fix soon or it will get worse. If the coolant leaks back in motor if could cause engine to fail !!!
indiejack in australia if you are going to be pulling big hills that day ,we up in a pint of casteroil in the fuel,it give you more octane and power.dont use it all the time.
Next time you come into longview, tx for the night, let me know, I know the manager at the Denny's next door, I may be able to get you a nice discount there. He usually lets me eat half price.

If you had only known then what you know now about that engine. Great videos, I'm watching a Indiana jack marathon Saturday. Ha Ha.

I work at cummins and have you had a oil test to see if it's a cracked head/block or even the air compressed
Love the Ft.Knox comment! I know what you mean about those type places! Great videos!!
Thanks for taking us vagabonds for the ride and oh yes thanks for that good subway sandwitch
I feel that it is not easy to understand how the air braking system works in a combination vehicle. Is there no parking brakes in a trailer without the spring brakes? Need to chock the wheels everytime they park because they have no spring brakes in them?

How much diesel do u burn and hour on idle with ac and electronics on?
Enjoy your videos. Your over-flow tank hose is split where it connects to the tank. Cut the end off and push it back on. That is not your water leak problem, but also needs to be fixed.
hey jack what software are you using
Does it have a thermostat like a car?
"Volvo always wants to replace the most expensive part first" haha copy that!!
Hey what phone plan are you with
Is knight transportation elogs or paper?

Next time you come into longview, tx for the night, let me know, I know the manager at the Denny's next door, I may be able to get you a nice discount there. He usually lets me eat half price.
We're those 🚗 honking there horns
Water pump could be going bad or bad thermostat causing coolant to boil out.
why are all the lamp posts bent over
Why did he put a lock on the air line?
