Is this located in what used to be the heavy rail overhaul works at Acton Town? If so, that’s where my father spent most of his working life. I still temper telephoning him at work, asking the telephone operator for Acorn 3262, the the switchboard operator for the “drawing office, please”.. He retired in 1973 after 46 years of railway service.
Amazing!! Thanks for sharing. Yes the depot was the central overhaul workshop for the London Underground when it opened in 1922, and continues to play a major role in underground stock maintenance today.
If you keep an eye on www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whats-on-calendar you'll keep up to date with the open days and other events at the Depot. Tickets are bookable online.
Nice video. Terrible annoying music though. There must be something better available for free. And don't edit the video to whatever the music is but to how you want to viewers to see things (like after 4:15).
Nice tour!
Great video! It’s such a treasure trove there. I loved visiting.
The standard stock ran on the Northern City line till 1966, this was the stock that went to the Isle of Wight
Thanks for the clarification :-)
Flicking the pictures to the beat of the background music means we missed out on some good pics, not the best idea, A senior moment, I guess !!!
Yes agreed. Bit of an experiment but won't bother again!!
I was literally at the open day I loved the Q stock
Tho I left Acton mainline so I had to walk 1 mile to it

The subject matter is interesting but video is spoilt by that irritating background music!
