When I realized that the ancient spice road was really about medicine and not just spices for cuisine, it was such a revelation. Herbs were our fist medicines.
Lovely ! I agree entirely about the use of spices. I use Myrrh and Frankincense daily. I know now why they were taken as gifts to the Holy Child. Cinnamon, ginger, cloves etc. all magic. And a bit of star anise in a stew lifts it to another level. Love your intro music. It soothes and settles. Keep warm and safe.
I love to use mixed spice, together with extra cloves, ginger and fennel, in my chai. I make it on top of my wood burner and it fills the house with a wonderful smell. It's my go-to when I'm not feeling 100%. I grow my own fennel, had the same plant for the last three years and it produces the biggest seeds I have ever seen. I didn't collect them this year, I'm hoping it will self-seed all over the place as I love the look of it, so tall and feathery. Plus the insect love the flowers so I want to give them more food.
This is a wonderful video for all of us, thank you so much for sharing it. I make the traditional orange stuck with cloves and use all those spices most of the year in Moroccan and Indian cooking. Oh life is so full of such beauty and marvelous gifts from Mother Nature, they feed the soul and body. Merry Everything to Everyone!!
Hello Terrie. I wanted to tell you how much benefit your videos can bring. Last Friday evening, I was rushed from my GPs surgery to hospital. I was in A and E, in a private room for 8 hours. My wife and my brother in law sat by me all that time, as I had a range of tests. I don''t remember anything, not even arriving at the hospital. A senior registrar diagnosed pneumonia and said that my body was shutting down very quickly. The first thing I was aware of, was Saturday morning, hooked up to a collection of equipment, I was on oxygen for 4 days, and given all sorts of treatments and injections.. On Wednesday, the patients were told to go home ,if possible. There was an outbreak of MRSA. Having developed CAP after I've just suffered 16 weeks of Covid has left me incredibly weak and at risk at risk. I was out of the ward like a flash. I was sitting here at home, watching your video just now, when it dawned on me that I was smiling and relaxed. Thank you Terrie, you will never know how much you helped me. I was at a low ebb until I watched you.. Christmas is looking better all the time. I hope you all have a wonderful time.
You poor love, I am sorry to hear you have been so sick and feeling vulnerable but you have proved now that you are tough stuff and just about invincible. I am delighted to hear that you are on the mend and have Christmas to look forward to with your lovely wife and family. So honoured to think we have helped a bit in your feeling better. Wishing you many blessings of health and happiness for Christmas and the coming year xx
Greetings from Michigan! Thank you for "My nature therapy" 🤗as we've had some freezing rain here and I won't be walking in the for... rest 🌲today. I love all the spices you have mentioned. My mother would use clove mixed in a bit of water to form a paste for toothaches. Your videos always give me joy and your dogs are wonderful companions. Much love and many blessings. 🕊️💝
what could be more christmasy than a brisk harvest of holiday greens and a warming spicy chat and exploration w/terri and the 'dogs'. thank you and my warmest wishes back for a 'luvlee' holiday season to all the conroys...furries included.
I totally agree with you: herbs can help us these days and they give flavor to our food, which makes us happy. Thank you. With love from Netherlands. ❤ 🙏
Cinnamon is my favorite, and I'll add it to my morning coffee and hot cocoa, oatmeal and on toast. I've also been drinking hot peppermint tea more during the holidays. I have plenty from my garden.
I have started adding cacao powder, cinnamon and cloves in my morning coffee. Stomach is better and my taste buds aren't complaining either.😊 I use allulose to sweeten it.
Have a beautiful Festive Season Terri, Lol and family. Just made my crazy wild wreath foraged from my garden and the local woods. I also love fresh Holly in the house. ( I must buy myself a eucalyptus tree one of these days😂.) Lots of love to all 🎉❤🎉
Beautiful tree! I always try to “find” a tree, collect windfall branches or snapped trees after a windstorm. I love the winter spices too and found your information fascinating and helpful. For some reason I absolutely love cardamom. I’ll often crush a pod or two and put it in my teapot or with loose tea in a tea infuser. The aroma is lovely, peppery-cocoa-ish.🐇♥️
HELLO,,,,,YOU.........thank you for this beautiful video with all the informations.........have a good Week and a peaceful sunday...............Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel,Germany☘☘☘
Hi Terri - Thank you for all the great info on spices. They truly are magical for our bodies. The smells and tastes are so wonderful. Enjoy that beautiful tree that nature gifted you. Wishing you, Lol, and your family a very Merry Christmas filled with love, laughter, peace and joy. Big hugs to the dogs and cats. ❤️🎄🐾🌠🙏🏻😍
Cinnamon, peper, clove , nutmeg , anise, all come out of Indonesia , introduced in the golden centurie, I wonder what we used before we had Indonesian spices? Loved the film and love the spices ❤, have a great week ❤️🙏🏻
Seasons greeting Terri and Lol. I've always enjoyed the aromas of Christmas spices. It's a good thing to be able to use a tree that Mother Nature provides. I'm interested to know how the kittens react to the decorated tree. You might be surprised, and have to remove ornaments near the bottom boughs. You also might have to anchor the top boughs if near a staircase or otherwise, to keep the tree upright. (voice of experience here). I look forward to the next video folks. Maybe you will have snow again. Blessings from Ontario Canada.
Yay for these spices. Natures medicines. I’ve made pine needle tea, not spruce but real long needle pine. very good for colds coughs etc. .Love those and anise stars. Imhave holly growing out front thanks for an idea.Back in medieval days the ppl would carry and orange prickled with cloves as an air freshener or to sniff as they walked thru the dank smelling castle etc. very uplifting these spices. Each year I make an orange ginger cake with home made candied orange peels shaven and cut for the decoration on took of it. I live how you present the videos and have lol to help out.we have cinnamon brooms here for decoration in fall. Intake cinnamon for my diabetes as well as gym ja slyvestra. Great knowledge Terri and happy chrsitmas to you lol and children and pets😊

Terri, lovely film. So many ideas and history. We are so fortunate to have all of these spices and herbs. I'm loving the music 🎶. Blessings to you. Cynthia🌿🌙💚
Happy Solstice greetings to you and family. Decanting peppermint extract today. Already did vanilla extract, raspberry extract for gifts. Powdered blueberries, blackberries, strawberries. Set for the winter months ahead. Next is to make a simmer pot. Blessings sent to all.
Beautiful and amazing we all use them and at times never think of what they can do for us,. My kitchen jammed packed with spices and herbs its my haven. Happy Yuletide Merry Cjristmas dea friend.
Gosh Terri such helpful info on herbs. How lucky finding that tree! How nice having your own holly, I had a couple bushes at another house, miss them. Happy week to you and Lol😊
Don't forget Fennel seeds. Grind them and they make a lovelyl fragrance. Best spice for flavour in your lentil stews is cumin seeds, grind in small lots to preserve the flavour. I put drops of Frankensense in my moisturisers. Eat a clove a day if you remember. Stick one in your lemon and ginger tea. Thanks Terri. Great video as usual
Hi Terri! This was such a great video. My nightly beauty oil (my own mixture) includes Frankincense and Myrrh, mixed with organic essential oils of Rose Hip, Helichrysum, camelia, and my carrier oil is Jooba. Helichrysum is found in very expensive creams as are all the others. I love using these beautiful oils on my skin, it feels wholesome and empowering, leaving out all the chemicals. Thank you for all this great information! Blessed Be Sister )O(
Merry Christmas from Michigan. I use all kinds of herbs and spices. God gave them to us to heal our body most people don't know how to use them. Thank you for your informative video I really appreciate it I love seeing your beautiful Ireland.❤
Herbs are lovely when simmering in the house! Frankincense and Myrhh essential oils are a wonderful for facial application before Yule and grocery shopping to help keep germs at bay. An annual tradition in my home consists of a shot or two of Jägermeister after a full feast! Jägermeister is also useful during cold and flu season. One or two shots at night and zzzz! Merry Yule to you Terri and Lowell + Family (kids, dogs. cats)
I am so delighted every time I see your beautiful surroundings, it is so beautiful the scenery! Thanks to your cameramen 😊! Is true, our beloved spices have long journeys behind them. In my language, cloves are actually called "nails," small nails, it's used a diminutive term. I love spices, but I didn't know their extended benefits until now, always learning new information from your beautiful videos. What a blessing that tree! Thank you gratefully, love to your dogs and kittens and have a great week too, you all! ❤
❤ great episode , thanks so much. Your explanation about the clove spice was great because as a Dutch born (living in Canada) I always wondered why it is called “kruidnagel” which translates to “herbal or spiced nail” , now I know 😊. Happy to hear I am not the only one who doesn’t want to chop down a tree for the Yule tidings, I collect spruce and pine branches from the forrest , and I have to be honest that I am a bit envious that you can collect Holly and Ivy. With love from the Yukon
Another wonderful video today, Terri. I appreciate your knowledge and I am so grateful that you share it. Blessings to you for a peaceful holiday season. Stay safe and warm. ❤
Most of these spices are also wonderful calming spices. Thank you for your beautiful videos with all the useful information. Merry Chrismas to you and Yours.

Went to my local woods to gather cuttings for my xmas decorations. So much better and natural than all the plastic tat. ❤❤❤❤
Yes and still with live in them and a beautiful fragrance xx

How nice that the universe gave you a tree! I agree, no need to kill a tree just for the holidays xo
We are so lucky! xx
I love that, Merry Everything to Everyone 😊 and same to you xx

First! You need goats to clean up the garden.
