I grew up in Dublin during the 50's and 60's. In 1954, we lived on Bridge Street, across from us lived the Sells. I remember hand pumps set in the sidewalks, about every third house. I don't think they were functional at that time, though. My father was a contractor. He later built us a house north, on Dublin Road, on the river. In 1965, the state took our land, eminent domain, in order to build 270. I still miss my childhood home.
Thank you for this, I really enjoyed it! I grew up going to Dublin High School and now live overseas, it's wonderful to learn about the history of what I consider my hometown! I didn't know a lot of this.
Transportation folks in Columbus appears to be WORK-SHY!! They should have built light rail system throughout the metropolitan cities long time ago! Cities Like Seattle, though less in population have erected pillars throughout cities on which light rail run and transportation is abundant like street cars, mono rail, express buses. light rail you name it!!. Even Charlotte NC has a light rail system!! Columbus Transportation office workers , please wake up from the deep slumber, roll up your sleeves and do for Columbus what it deserves__Build light rail system that connects Columbus with Worthington, Delaware, Pickerington, Reynoldsburg, Westerville, Pataskala, Blacklick Estates, Whitehall, Lincoln Village, Hilliard, Powell, upper Arlington,, Grove city, Channel Winchester etc..............It is high time and Columbus deserves better as a home to a million people!!
I've actually been to that Wendy's Innovation Center where takes Dez where I got paid like 30 or 40 bucks just to eat half of some new cheeseburger they were trying out

Samuel Davis helped build Benjamin's Sells house on Hayden Falls and Dublin, the red house. One of Mr. Davis's married Mr. Sells.
More proud of the Wendy's test items and Dave's old house, than the Irish festival and a stupid field of concrete corn.
The only real Dublin is in Ireland
