We all know Rumple was NEVER going to hurt Henry. Even in season one before he knew Henry was his grandson he still liked him and wished him no harm, he came to neverland to give his life FOR Henry. The only thing rumple did was put Henry to sleep.
I agree 100% with you! He was going after Henry to get the crystal not to hurt him. Everyone was making a big deal about it and worrying about Henry when I kept thinking "that is not the main concern here guys!"
Thank you and why did all these so called heroes immediately go after the Crystal when they knew what he was using it for. I was thinking couldn't you at least let him wake Belle first?
+Tevin Jackson I thought the same thing. Why not let him wake Belle then take the crystal? As for Henry, even though he found out Henry looked like the boy who would undo him, he never did anything. In fact, didn't he let Henry destroy the world he made in the book? True, he was fighting him then Regina got in the way, but I really don't think he would ever kill him or hurt him.
Well, in Season 2, he KNEW Henry was his grandson but was willing to kill him anyway because he thought Henry would be his 'undoing'. So he is capable of killing Henry, just saying.
Ok, enough debate over Rumple picking the crystal over Belle. I just want to say this. Robert Carlyle is amazing! It doesn't matter if he's Rumple, Doctor Rush from SGU or even Begbie from Trainspotting. What he can do as an actor is what makes characters like Rumple so real that you get mad at him, you like him, he makes you cry or he makes you want to shake him so hard and scream "Knock it off!". I honestly believe Rumple wouldn't have been as interesting, even with good writing, if he had been played by someone else. True, they could be talented enough to pull it off, but Robert Carlyle just has that certain something that makes it work.
Actually this isn't Rumple picking magic over Belle. He sensed something was happening & esp. since the crystal was already stolen once, he went for it because there's no indication that Belle was even in danger. C'mon, I'm pretty Rumple critical but this is ridiculous.
Exactly! I defend Rumple, but I can get so mad at him. This isn't one of those times. He picked the crystal because he needed it and thought Belle was safe!
This is one of those times when a person needs to make a quick choice. The Lady or the Tiger. He thought the box was safe on the bed, but the crystal is what he needed to wake Belle up. So, yes, he went for the crystal because it was more important. But that doesn't mean he loves Belle any less. In fact, his reaction shows he loves her more and is devastated that she's gone. If he was truly the evil shit most of you think he is, he wouldn't have cared. He would have just taken the crystal and gone back to Storybrooke or gone anywhere in the world. So, please, stop hating him and try to think how you would have reacted. Yes, the safety of the person you love comes first, but not if you think they're fine and something that can save their lives is in danger. What if that had been some life saving organ that was in danger of being destroyed or taken? Would you rather have Belle die or have Rumple save the thing that would save her life and the life of their unborn child, who he also cares about?
I really don't like the "heroes". They all go after Rumple because he is "taking all the power". But what he is using it for is love! So, it's alright for heroes to do certain things, but the second the Dark one does anything everyone is concerned and will stop him without hearing the whole story.
I love Hyde and this music! And for everyone who says that Rumple chooses power over love, why would he think that the portal would want to take his sleeping pregnant wife in a box while there's a magical crystal the can kill gods in the room. Of course he would run for the crystal, plus, he needs it to wake Belle
At first I was mad because he choose magic or belle but then I relized he actually didnt. He had no choice. If he had picked the Pandora box then the crystal would have been lost and he wouldn't be able to wake up belle.
My heart is still breaking for Rumple though. All the poor guy wanted to do is wake up his damn wife. And then the herocrites keep trying to prevent that and so naturally the guy is gonna assume that the portal is going for what the herocrites keep trying to take from him. I mean where's Cruella when you need her to punch Emma in the face, damn it. Also I hope sleepinging Belle and Belle in a Box keeps hearing EVERYTHING that Rumple has been telling her cause I would love to see her yell at the herocrites again. And don't even get me started on Snow, didn't she learn her lesson the first time damn!
I think all of these arguments fall flat when you realize that if he really wanted to wake up belle, he could just decide to try to change for real, to let go of his lust for power for at least an instant, and true love's kiss would wake her up. So all of this is not really a man desperate to keep his wife, but the desperate acts of someone trying to have it all, consequences be damned. This is still pitiful, hence why rumbelle are my fav characters, but this means that the true problem lies in rumple more than in the others. He is an addict who has given up trying to sober up, and not even love can reach him anymore (yet)... It is so bad, when you think that he was the one telling regina in season 2 that one could not have it all. Even his cries that he just cannot believe that someone could love him(therefore explaining why he keeps clinging to power) has been destroyed: he now freely admits that he wants power because "that is who he is". Really I love rumbelle but it is starting to get more and more unbelievable that belle would ever want to even tolerate him/
+spikelilgirl I didn't say I wished for belle to abandon him, just that it would be understandable/normal if she were to do it. I did say that rumbelle were my favs andI like when they are together, but I really hated how immature and selfless Rumple was in season 4. He betrayed her trust so many times and in the worst ways possible in the last seasons. And now he doesn't even wanna try to change, even for their child. She had her heart broken so many times by Rumple and now she also has to consider the child. If it makes her miserable,if she can't even hope that he'll change from the beast, that he can truly love her selflessly, then there would be no point at all for her to stay with him.
He chose a chance to save Belle over a box that he didn't think anyone would try to take because not many people knew she was inside of it. How Dr Hyde knew is beyond me. A mistake by the writers. Like how there's never any blood on the swords in this show.
I believe rumple knew something bad was happening but I do not believe he chose power over belle. think he was going to use that crystal to wake her up. He may love power but I believe he chose the crystal because he is going to do what he has to, to get her back and use that crystal that he saved to wake her I don't believe it's about the power at all I believe he did it for belle because he knows he can save her and always has saved her even if hurting her
If y'all are keen to listen to the soundtrack heard towards the end, you might wanna check out this link isham.com/ (OUAT Season 5 - The Jekyll & Hyde Suite). Its Mark Isham's official page and he posted the suite there. Enjoy!
I don't think he chose crystal instead of Belle. He just couldn't imagine someone is interested in pandora box more than in the crystal. And I really don't understand how the heroes got known that Belle is in the box? Probably neither does Gold.
He chose Light before and Belle left him anyway. And he already kissed her to wake up and the kiss didn't work. And in the very first rumbelle episode he didn't stop to be Dark One after her kiss. It seems to me they are not soulmates. They had good time together but now it's just over. As for me I hope for an honest divorce since 4x11. Lie is bad but leaving a crippled man in a night forest without cane, coat and probably money is terrible. He could die.
What infuriates me is that so-called heroes and even Mr. Dragon Goody Old Shoes won' t give a damn about Belle and her innocent baby. Oh no, they're related to the Dark One, let them die!
Do not say he chose power over Belle! It made sense for one of his enemies to be stealing the crystal. He had no idea that they were going to go for Belle. Also, if he lost the magic Hyde would have been extremely powerful so he did a favor to everyone.
I'm sorry, but this is kind of hilarious now. I hope someone keeps track of all these shenanigans so they can tell Belle when she wakes up how brilliantly her magical coma plan worked out. I wonder what kind of prenatal effects this will have on the baby.
I was wondering the same thing. I mean, if the baby turns out to be perfectly healthy, then I will be confused. But, I remember Rumple freezing time on the child and Belle. Maybe that will have an effect on how the baby turns out. I just hope this baby grows up, and becomes so much better than Henry.
ztslovebird I am fine with Rumpelstiltskin, he is at least fessing up to his mistakes by trying to save Belle. Everyone else views what they believe is evil and fight them. They have a false sense of justice now a days.
Rumple is absolutely NOT choosing power over Belle here. He simply NEEDS the crystal to wake her up and didn't thought somebody will take her over the crystal. When he realises his mistakes he immediately reached out to her but it was to late
i understand why people are upset that rumple, once again, chose magic over love, but look at it this way. for the first time, he actually needs the magic to save his love. if he just took the box and the crystal was gone, he had no way of getting belle back. and he, just like us, didn't know what was happening. he knew that someone was trying to make a portal to take something. this most logical answer was the crystal. why wouldn't it be? we certainly didn't think someone wanted the box. so he had to go for the crystal because, like i said, he can't save belle without it. TLK didn't work so he needs another option. so he was surprised when the portal took belle. i don't hate rumple's decision in this scene. he had logical reason to chose magic over belle this time. as for the others times, sure, that was him being an addict.
Daniela Müller true, but i'm sure it will be harder to get the crystal back than it would be to get belle back. he could have belle and not the crystal, meaning someone (like hyde) else have and do something like set armaggedon. concerning this situation with something as powerful as the crystal, you have to think more logically, not emotionally.
***** Who the fuck said that you had to be 'pure' and 'light' for TLK to work?! please, let me know so I can punch that person. This is again going back to belle vs. power. IT'S NOT A FUCKING COMPETITION!! He shouldn't have to chose between belle and power. he should be able to have both because he loves them both. there's no law in the universe that says you're only allowed to love one thing or person. He wants the power to protect belle because he loves hers. and you know what? belle should accept that. she's being an utter bitch. what she is doing is forcing rumple to give up his magic for her. well you know what that does? it makes him feel weak, cowardly, and inadequate. JUST LIKE MILAH MADE HIM FEEL. he should haven't to do that and lose his new found mental stability for belle. LOVE IS ACCEPTANCE. which belle clearly has none. rumple accepts that belle is a hero and will always want to do the right thing and care for everyone. yet belle won't accept that for the first time ever, rumple has finally found a balance in his life. he finally has come to peace with himself and isn't fighting against himself or the world. yet she can't accept that. he's not good enough for her if he's the not the perfect light heroic hero she reads so much about. they both have their flaws, and it's time belle fucking accepted hers. honestly, i don't blame rumple for lying. belle has too many fucking high expectations of what love and her husband should be. that's not right. all she wanted was honesty. you know what? HE GAVE HER THAT! MANY TIMES ALREADY. and still, it wasn't enough. still she walked away. even when his heart was pure and he defeated hooks without killing him, belle still walked away. rumple honestly deserves someone better than her, not the other way around. after what his father and milah did to him, after how bae kept throwing his father's apologies in his face, and everything in between, rumple deserves someone who will accept him no matter what. someone will love him and HELP him become better for HIMSELF, not TELL him what to do and be better for SOMEONE ELSE. rumple doesn't deserve belle, but not because he's not good enough for her. but because she's not what he needs. she's only making him for what she wants. how the fuck is that true love?
***** and he has the right to love the power. why? he has been abandoned, emtionally and physically abused more times than he can count, and everyone he ever loved, including belle, has left him. power doesn't leave. It makes him feel strong. it doesn't make him feel weak and cowardly. with power, no one can hurt or abuse him again. no one can make him kiss their boot in front of his son. do you have any idea how emotionally devastating that would be to a person who has already experienced so much much pain and abuse? as for merlin's prophesy, i don't think he literally meant change the dark to light. that's actually not possible. rumple was right in saying it's possible to use the dark FOR light and good reasons. of course that's still not good enough for belle. and i'm not saying belle needs to indulge his every dark whim like lacey. that's not what acceptance is. acceptance is saying: "I know you are addicted to this power and that it makes you feel good. I know for the first time ever you have found peace with yourself and finally know who you want to be. But I know you can be more than that. I know you can become better for yourself, not for me. I am going to help you along the way to fight against this addiction and power." That's acceptance. not saying "You like your power, i'll let you do what you want with it. it's okay if you hurt people." that's being an enabler. lacey was, belle is not. and yes, he needs belle. but belle isn't going to be good for him if she just tells him what to do rather than actually helping! you cannot tell an addict to 'do this' and expect them to do it. you need them to help 'let go'. not 'force it' out of their hand.and that's what belle does. she gives him so many fucking ultimatiums that she is trying to force the power out rather than help rumple understand that he CAN and needs to let go. belle can be goo for him, but at the moment and the way she is acting, she is not. if she wants to help rumple, she needs to change first.
***** no, it doesn't give him the right. but it does explain his actions. so you can't say he does it all just because he's evil and power hungry. that's what pisses me off the most. everyone just simply says that he's evil and all he wants his power without ever looking at the background and evidence for him, while they do for everyone else. it's sick. that's a double standard. and take it from someone who has fought hard against depression (lets replace darkness with that for a moment to help understand this better). it's not fucking easy. if you ever had hard depression in your life, you would know how many times you go through each day just wanting to give up. here's what the most important thing you need to know. NOT EVERYONE IS THAT STRONG!!! there is a reason there are people like rumple and people like belle. those who are weak need someone strong to help them. we can't always fight ourselves. and when those who help support us walk away (as belle as done plenty of times to rumple) we keep losing confidence and quickly lose more strength. not everyone is that strong. not everyone can keep on fighting and not everyone win. that's where suicide comes in. so if you give up on someone with depression, it's easier for them to give up on themselves. so now that belle has officially said that she won't be with him just because he's the dark one again, he's given up fighting. what's the point in trying if the one person you're doing it for doesn't care about you anymore? if belle could understand that he feels stronger with the power, it might be easier. again, this isn't about belle vs. power. he shouldn't have to give it up and that's all belle is saying. if he has any dark power, the deal's off. that's shitty. as he has tried to say. darkness and evil is a matter of perspective. rumple can easily use that dark matter for good. and it doesn't have to be light. belle lives in a black and white world and that's hurting her. she needs to understand that if snow and emma both murder, and regina and zelena both change, than rumple can do good with dark magic and belle isn't perfect herself.
wow im so glad to see all these fans fight it shows how much they love the show. but i wanna say on one hand rumple needs to get it together. and im not saying he needs to get rid of the power im just saying that he neess to stop choosing power over the ONLY person alive who believes in and loves him. if it comes down to losing power to do that then so be it but he shouldnt jave to lose his power to become a better man.
I just want to say in the time he took deciding which to pick he literally could’ve grabbed Belle first and then the crystal cuz he was closer to her and wasting time thinking 😂
Can you imagine his neighbors in the hotel though. Who is he yelling at? As far as they know, only one person went in that room. 😂 But seriously, this broke my heart.
Rumple choosing the box over belle reminded me of season 1 when he chose to abandon baelfire for his power. The way he looks back and forth between the two, but always ends up choosing power
Honestly, I do not feel bad for Rumple at all in this scene. Once again, he decided to choose power over love, over family. I see peoples comments about how he only went for the crystal because he thought belle wasn't in danger and how he thought that someone was after the crystal, I call bullshit. Without Belle, the crystal is fucking useless. His supposed "main reason" he wanted the crystal was to help Belle, but yet, he knew a portal was opening. Shouldn't his first instinct would have been to protect his wife and unborn child first? He obviously learned nothing with Baelfire. I would think that if any kind of portal was opening up and your wife and unborn child were in the same room, I would think you'd want to at all costs protect them first, because without them, all you plan amounts to nothing. Instead he chose the damn crystal instead of saving his own wife and child. Even if it didn't seem like a possibility, I'm sure most fathers/husbands would instinctively reach for their spouse and child first. You would think that after losing Bae he'd be so absolutely protective of his new child that he'd do anything to make sure nothing happens to it, but apparently Rumple will never learn from his mistakes. The only person I feel bad for is Belle, she deserves so much better than Rumple.
I don't think he really loves Belle. He just loves the fact that Belle loves him. But really, all the characters are being so poorly written nowadays that Rumple is my hero on this show.
I'm so excited for season 6. Rumple is turning badass. I know he won't be the final villain, but imagine for later on, that he is, considering he always wants power, to not go back to his other life. His past is very sad.
Of course he'll be the final villain, who else wóuld it be? They've done the Lord of the Underworld for heaven's sake. Rumple has been gradually slipping away from all the heroes for a while now and from what I've heard, he and Belle are permanently breaking up next season too. He has nothing left to lose anymore.
DarthRushy I would. Though The dark ones were not used appropriately during their arc, there is a chance that the Dark One that we know may come back to his old self.
when he feels the shaking notice how he goes to save his power first (the crystal) before going to grab the box Belle is in. hmmm Oh rumple. still love him.
Okay, but you do realize that in most cases the portal would have opened up for the crystal right? And if he lost the crystal he wouldnt have been able to wake up belle, even tho thats BS considering he still loves her and she loves him so true loves kiss should still work, you can love multiple things. Rumplestiltskin had no way of knowing Hide was going after Belle rather then the super mega powerful crystal that had all of storybrookes magic in it.
He didn't choose power over Belle. Didn't you watch the Rumple scenes? They were pretty clear on what Rumple wanted from that crystal. NOT once did he talk about gaining power for himself. At the beginning of the finale he said that he had to find another way to wake Belle which was the crystal . The same crystal that Emma, Regina and Henry were trying to get. Gold knew a portal was coming, now THINK ABOUT IT: Gold had NO reason the portal was after a sleeping woman in a box, why would it? It more sense that it was after the crystal full of power that was going to wake up Belle. Maybe you should stop listening to what the "heroes" are saying. GO BACK & WATCH THE BEGINNING OF THE FINALE!!!!! HECK! GO WATCH ALL THE SCENES INVOLVING GOLD & TELL ME WHEN HE EXPRESSED HAVING ALL THE POWER FOR HIMSELF!!!
+xCaptainLadyAcex look closely how he wants to choose belle or the box he runs back and forth but ofc goes to the power maybe you have a different opinion but it just proved he choose power over belle even if it was to save her
Yes I saw that & do have a different opinion of it where I believe that Rumple was thinking what exactly the portal was for? His wife tucked in a box or a magical crystal? Honestly, he JUST got it back from Henry & knew people were after it. But let's just agree to disagree. If you want to ignore what Rumple said that his whole purpose it the beginning of the episode was to wake Belle, then fine.
So Hyde opened the portal, but how did he immediately know that someone was in the box, and more importantly, how did he know it was Belle, and that she loved the dark one? Is there something I'm missing?
The heroes told him that Rumple had a wife. And with portals, it seems like all he had to do was think "dark one's wife" in order for it to open underneath Belle. Once the box fell through he put two and two together.
on rhe other hand. in his mind all the evil things he does is to be with or help belle( but its still not ok ). but if u think about it isnt kinda just like emma when she was the dark one. he is a coward and power is the only thing he knows to use. he doesnt believe in himself to be good. i mean he even said that darkness is a part of him and it always will be. in his mind hes doing the right thing. ( check other comment for other side)
No. That was rumple being a coward and being too scared to let go of his power, this was Rumple choosing to save the thing that was most likely going to be taken, thr crystal with all of Storybrookes magic in it, he had no way of knowing that the portal was going to open up to take his wife. Not even the Dark One is all knowing. And its BS that he needed the Crystal to wake up Belle in the first place, they both still love each other, true loves kiss should wake her up, him also loving power should have no affect on that.
0:51. To 2:51. Sam Witwer was Truly Perfectly Casted as Mr. Edward Hyde. I’m always going to be pissed off that Mr. Hyde was Killed off So Soon. He had So Much Potential. Mr. Hyde was Originally going to be The Man Antagonist’s of The First Half of Season 6 of Once Upon a Time but of Course they wanted more of The Evil Queen so Mr. Hyde was Killed off. I feel Mr. Hyde to actually would have worked a lot better as The Main Antagonist’s and still have The Evil Queen still could have her own thing as well.
Dina M I strongly believe the writers wanted to show what I said. Also he couldn't be sure about the size of the portal, in any case pandora's box would also be at risk.
That's funny because what I saw what the writers wrote was that Rumple needed to wake up Belle using the crystal (said by Rumple & the OTHER characters )because her father refused to do it. Having Rumple know the portal was after something important, which would be the crystal NOT the woman in the box.
+akuma930 he wanted to protect the thing that would save belle, he didn't actually think that the portal would b for belle since no one knew where belle was and everyone was after the crystal
Rumple will never change. I don't like the direction the show is heading. The first few seasons were awesome, now it feels like this show is reaching soap opera.
This is BULLSHIT, wrters, stop it, just, stop it, everyone has gotten a happy ending except Rumple, he has sufferred, like, a lot. And for those still convinced it was power over Belle, no, he needed the crystal to fucking wake her. And what could he even do with the crystal? He had familiy plans. This is BULLSHIT, but it is for the sake of a 6th season... i guess i need to forgive.
Someone needs to get a tragic ending soooo they went with the original villain. Maybe he will sacrifice himself soooo it will at least some kind of satisfaction. He's better this way. And Robert is sssoooo good at acting as a bad guy :))
Ok, how awesome is that music? Awesome sauce! And Rumple...he just doesn't learn and he can't change. This reminds me of when he chose power over Bae, after Bae was gone and the portal closed he started to dig frantically calling his name. Just like now.
+Jacklyn Lawson I was thinking the exact same thing! A swirling portal, a choice between saving your loved one & grabbing an object of magical power, making the wrong choice, & then digging around when you realize what you've done. As Rumple himself once so eloquently put it, "There's irony everywhere."
He deserved that!!! He was closer to the bow than the crystal! He ran half way across the room instead of just picking her up! Told you he would pay for the "This is MY kingdom" comment
+Zoe Sherwin People were trying to get the crystal throughout the episode, the crystal he was going to use to wake up Belle so of course he thought someone was stealing it again, but the portal was actually for Belle , he didn't know.
+Zoe Sherwin The CRYSTAL was going to be use to WAKE Belle. Gold knew that's all the heroes wanted. Henry already took it away once. Just because the heroes assumed he wanted power doesn't mean they were right.
+That Tuba Guy Ok.. raise your hand if you believe sam will get impaled in this role.. because everyother role hes played hes been impaled at least once..so hands on who thinks sam will get impaled!
In what way? Ok, let's put it this way. Say the crystal was something that would save Belle's life. Belle is safe and sound in the hospital bed, but someone is about to steal the organ or medicine which will save her. Do you really think Rumple would risk her life by letting it be stolen? No! he would save it then protect Belle and their unborn child! Does that make sense?
spikelilgirl Yas I see that but he could've just grabbed the box first THEN get the crystal . AND he would've had time to get both if he didn't hesitate on getting belle.b/c she isn't on a hospital bed and I doubt that the crystal would've helped her more like him plus they were after the box, not the crystal and just like last episode proved, TRUE LOVE is when you care about the other person more than yourself
Rumple senses something magically bad was going to happen and the first things he grabbed was the crystal knowing Belle is in the Pandora's box. Rumple does not deserve Belle choosing her and his baby life over his love for power and darkness.
+Saira Ramjit No, he doesn't deserve her because all she's done is force him to be what he can't be at the moment. He's told her time and again he's not a hero, but she doesn't listen. And it was BELLE who put her under the curse not him and forced him into this!
+spikelilgirl Yes, Rumple made it clear to Belle that he loves power because it had given him everything he ever wanted which is power and Belle understood the man he choose to be. But she is pregnant and wanted to protect her baby from a deal Rumple was not able to keep. Yes, she took the chance to be put under a sleeping curse because Rumple had proven once more he can not be trusted with her well being or their own child. Rumple does not do anything he does not want to do and had failed again to honor Belle's wishes in reuniting her with her father. It is Rumple who would not let her go and it is Rumple who keep putting Belle at risks.
Also, he did let her go before they went to the Underworld. She chose to come back when Henry called her. She didn't have to. And it was her choice to stay with him. Rumple has never forced her to do anything.
How many times has he asked her why she stays with him? He knows his faults and his need for power, but she keeps coming back. So she's the one whose really putting herself at risk.
Guys, get over it!!! Eddie and Adam can't give a happy ending to everyone... and Rumple is better as an addict to power and as a character on his own :))) I loooooveeeee that writers know that.... in real life many addicts don't change either. The only one I'm feeling sad for is Emilie de Ravin ... they don't give her a character so she could have been a great character on the screen (but well, it was her choice to become pregnant irl) If she wasn't just a tool to saying that even though love is a great and a good thing to have some people (many people in this world) are better on their own and they don't need to have someone to be fine on their own even as characters on a evil/bad side (Rumple should have never got some lover in this series cause in the original tale Rumpelstiltskin was just a villain and he didn't need to have a lover) cause their fans want to have their happy ending and they won't get it. So just like with True Blood's ending (HBO) they will hate Adam and Eddie for doing a tragic ending for Rumbelle forever.
It makes no sense to say what he did in the original fairy tale when the entire show is about the characters that you THINK you know. So that's why that rumplestiltskin is not the O.U.A.T Rumple. If that's the case then Hook shouldn't be with Emma either and Snow and charming shouldn't have had emma because they didn't in the original fairy tale
Tevin Jackson O.k. villains can have a lover but it's clear that writers have never intended to make this relationship last now looking back to the first seasons it should have always been clear to me that they would have always intended to ruin this relationship between these two. Can't blame all those fans of them who don't want to watch anymore. Lol I think that Eddie/Adam going back and forth with Rumbelle was one of the reasons why I stopped watching back in season 3 and now I'm dissapointed again and again in how they're going back and forth with his character but this time get it while the others don't. Power is Rumple's addiction and another thing: just my opinion but yeeah they can have heroes and good guys of all character of this story sooo yeeaaaahh they choose Rumple for doing bad things. The main problem is even a character from Robert's movie Trainspotting called Renton (played by Ewan McGregor) was trying to give it up soo hard and it certaily worked but I get this kind of feeling that writers of OUAT have never tried to make Rumple give up his addiction to power he/they was/were just going back and forth over and over again soooo now it's clear what will happen sooo sorry but Rumple will always be meant to be a bad guy of this story with his addiction of being the Dark one. It won't be different from the original tale. ps: Snow and Charming had a baby in the orig. tale but we don't know his/her name. And Hook was a hero in the original tale. It was Disney who made him a bad guy :)))
+LifeInPink999 no, I dont think he picked the crystal over Belle. I think he just felt a portal opening somewhere in the room and knew that the only way to wake Belle was with the crystal. But sadly he didnt think the portal would be small and appear under the box. He missed judged the situation
DarthRushy maybe, but i have to say its most likely Belle's fault due to the fact she cant expect the fact that Rumple loves her and loves his power. She just cant accept him for who he is. I hope they write him a new love life. someone who will love for who he is. Darkness and everything
DarthRushy I want him to have one. I mean he is suppose to be both Rumple and the beast. And the Beast ends up with Princess Belle. And since Belle doesnt want to be with him he deserves someone else. After all the heartache he's gone through he deserves it more than anyone
I'm not sure if Rumple will ever change. He chose magic over Belle yet again. The moment she needs him the most he chose power. What's sad is that he didn't even consider his unborn child. He doesn't deserve his family.
+xCaptainLadyAcex he wanted to wake Belle that's true but if it was all about saving Belle then he would have grabbed the box first and then the crystal. Everything he's doing is exactly what Belle didn't want him to do. Yes, her father refused to wake her and now he's doing the opposite of what Belle asked. He loves the darkness which is why TLK didn't work. I know he wants to save his family but as usual he's going about it the wrong way. He doesn't care who he hurts just as long as he gets what he wants. If Rumple had succeeded do you think he would have gave back the magic he stole????
+shonte lagrone He didn't grab the box first because nobody was after Belle, Gold assumed that they were after the crystal, the only thing in the world right now that can wake up Belle. I don't see how he's "choosing" power when the whole finale with Rumple was about Belle. Getting the crystal was FOR BELLE.
+Aleksandra Markovic Maurice's kiss wasn't going to work. What makes you think it was? I don't care if he hated Rumple, you would think a parent would care more about waking his child from a sleeping curse than wanting to spite Rumple.
Of course Gold would choose to grab the crystal before Bell! The decisions he makes drive me crazy!! I have a love/hate relationship with him. I hate him because of what I just said and I love him because the show wouldn't be the same without him and in my opinion the actor who plays him is the best on the show.
Why is Belle always being used as leverage? It's gotten very annoying and repetitive, I love Rumbelle and Belle is one of my favorite characters, I just wish that Rumple would stop doing the things that Belle doesn't want him to do in regards for waking him up, and that Belle gets much more development along with their relationship. Fingers crossed, next season they will but unfortunately I highly doubt it.
+PriceyMashups$ But it's his life. Why can't he live it the way he wants? And it's her fault this time. He wanted to deal with Hades his way and she forced his hand. Also, Snow ratted them out to Hyde. He had no idea Rumple had found love.
+spikelilgirl You're right, he should but it's just that the way the writers make it is when he tries to do his own thing it affect people around him negatively. And how is it Belle's fault, what do you mean by that? And I know, I'm just upset that Snow would do that. It's like no one truly cares about Rumple and Belle.
She didn't want Rumple to deal with Hades his way so she placed herself in the sleeping curse. I know she was saving their baby, too, but, if she would have trusted him, she would be awake, safe in Storybrooke, because he wouldn't have brought her with him to NY, and Rumple wouldn't be off trying to figure out how to wake her up.
Then again it's short of karma how many times have rumple used someone's love ones to get what he wanted or even killed them he's a very evil man and he gets what he deserves its just sad it's a belles expense
Sassy, so you're saying he deserved to be Zelena's prisoner for a year and have his son die? Are you saying he deserved to die saving Belle and the others just so he is blackmailed by Emma to go after Hook after she turned Hook into the Dark One?
+xCaptainLadyAcex I know, but...she clearly asked him to do a favor- have her dad wake her up. And the one thing that she asked of him was the one thing he didn't do. And to top it off, he went for the crystal versus the box when the room shook. I just...I hate the writers right now....
+Jay P. I keep repeating myself about WHY he went after the crystal & just can't anymore. He thought the portal was targeting the crystal because why would you or Gold think anyone wanted Belle? Snow sold out Belle to Hyde & SQ wouldn't let Gold wake her up or at least express they will help him wake her. The crystal however; was shown to be the target by the heroes. There was NO indication in the episode that it was also about power from Rumple. That came from THE HEROES & look at the proof on how they treated Belle in this episode.
I really like the violin in this theme. It fits well with the new characters.
I like it because it sounds nice XD
Same here I'm actually trying to find this track
Found it the name is "From Jekyll To Hyde" by Allison Geatches
The way Rumple acted in this scene reminds me of how he acted when Baelfire jumped through the portal and into the real world.
In the words of Britney Spears, Rumple's all like "oops I did it again" when he chose to save the crystal first over Belle 😂
+Tevin Jackson but did they know?
Well, in Season 2, he KNEW Henry was his grandson but was willing to kill him anyway because he thought Henry would be his 'undoing'. So he is capable of killing Henry, just saying.
The violin music is awesome!
IKR? Shows need to have more scores like this.
"How do you lose a woman"
"You forget to cherish her" Only 90s babies will be able to know where this is from and how it ties into this scene
oh my god yes
OMG. Perfect.
Good timing
LOL
Ashley Nerette Suite life of zack and cody
But there was no way for him to open the box without the crystal.
Exactly!
+spikelilgirl I mean, come on. Give him some credit. He has grown up since his greedy self.
I think that if Hyde had had the crystal he would have had power of all realms, but with Belle, he only has power over Rumple.
Yet again Belle is being used for leverage against Rumple.
I know that is what here character is used for
Hyde's voice is velvety perfection!
They had to make it so everyone thought Hyde was after the crystal, anyway.
To lead the audience down the garden path.
I really don't like the "heroes". They all go after Rumple because he is "taking all the power". But what he is using it for is love! So, it's alright for heroes to do certain things, but the second the Dark one does anything everyone is concerned and will stop him without hearing the whole story.
because while he will use it to wake Belle up, he is going to use it for evil things after that.
+Rachel P Exactly!
WAT. -____________- ' "That meant she wanted him to die." bad troll is bad
I love the villains and hate the heroes.
He may love power but I believe he chose the crystal because he is going to do what he has to, to get her back and use that crystal that he saved to wake her I don't believe it's about the power at all I believe he did it for belle because he knows he can save her and always has saved her even if hurting her
I love the music that is playing in the background
If y'all are keen to listen to the soundtrack heard towards the end, you might wanna check out this link
isham.com/ (OUAT Season 5 - The Jekyll & Hyde Suite). Its Mark Isham's official page and he posted the suite there. Enjoy!
When rumples patting the bed looking for belle it reminds me of when my attacks the wrinkles in my bed 😂
I really love the two episode ! but now we have to wait :p the music in the Hyde's scene in the world of the untold story are just amazing
I don't think he chose crystal instead of Belle. He just couldn't imagine someone is interested in pandora box more than in the crystal. And I really don't understand how the heroes got known that Belle is in the box? Probably neither does Gold.
+Lana Lanina yeah It got me thinking how they knew...
Mayby true Her dad?
Did Mo see the box? He only heard about the sleeping curse if I'm not mistaken.
And he can't wake her up without crystal, so he really needs it and not because of lust to power
I know right? Belle is nothing to them. The only time they even notice she's there is if they need information or leverage against Gold.
They didn't give a damn about Belle when she was kidnapped by Merida in Camelot so I'm not surprised.
Do not say he chose power over Belle! It made sense for one of his enemies to be stealing the crystal. He had no idea that they were going to go for Belle. Also, if he lost the magic Hyde would have been extremely powerful so he did a favor to everyone.
i felt like screaming at rumple in this scene
Great callback to season 1.
this scene reminds me how he lost he child once again F... history repeats
i love once upon a time
I'm sorry, but this is kind of hilarious now.
Szayel Granz Hope the baby's better than everybody. They've all devolved into horrible people.
ztslovebird I am fine with Rumpelstiltskin, he is at least fessing up to his mistakes by trying to save Belle. Everyone else views what they believe is evil and fight them. They have a false sense of justice now a days.
ztslovebird Pssh, Snow was posssesed and Neal turned out fine. Gideon is healthy if a bit murderous.
If I were Belle I would punch Snow in the face for selling me out to Hyde.
The music sounds so much like GoT - Light of The Seven! :O
Bro spent more deciding when he literally had time to grab both 😂
i'm crying why am i crying
IM REALLY HOPING RUMPLE WILL CHANGE AFTER THIS!!!! OR ELSE IM GONNA BE REALLY MAD!!
Aiden from Being Human!! YAAAASSSSS!!! :)
This scene with Rumple walking was what I imagined would happen when he cleaved himself from the dagger.
But Whats the use of the crystal If he dosent habe belle
Румпель вы мой любимый монстер и демон 😈🎃. Почему вас бояться люди́, а я не боюсь вас нет. Вы не сделаете мне ничего плохого.
Hyde blackmailing the Dark One.....
Hi! What's that song...? Thanks
wow im so glad to see all these fans fight it shows how much they love the show. but i wanna say on one hand rumple needs to get it together. and im not saying he needs to get rid of the power im just saying that he neess to stop choosing power over the ONLY person alive who believes in and loves him. if it comes down to losing power to do that then so be it but he shouldnt jave to lose his power to become a better man.
I'd KILL for the OST playing when Jekyl got the box...
I just want to say in the time he took deciding which to pick he literally could’ve grabbed Belle first and then the crystal cuz he was closer to her and wasting time thinking 😂
2:05 best soundtrack ever MrHyde
although how he could open the portal without magic
Can you imagine his neighbors in the hotel though. Who is he yelling at? As far as they know, only one person went in that room. 😂 But seriously, this broke my heart.
Rumple never learns
attetion everyone next season is "Save Belle"
Sadly,i don't think anyone cares about Belle, but Rumple
Rumple choosing the box over belle reminded me of season 1 when he chose to abandon baelfire for his power. The way he looks back and forth between the two, but always ends up choosing power
FFS he literally needs the crystal to wake up Belle and has no reason to believe someone will take Belle from him instead of the crystal
DarthRushy That would be so cool to see his real power. We have all known of his power since the beginning but we never saw his true fighting skills.
Szayel Granz They had ALL the Dark Ones together and did nothing with them, so I wouldn't get too hyped.
What season?
Of course... Chooses power over the ones he loves this is so sad he is never gonna change
+xCaptainLadyAcex You obvious did not watch the episode if you think
Tell me what did I miss?
+Kyra H Snow White told Hyde that Rumple was trying to save Belle and that she was in th e box. Then he used Zelena's wand to locate the box.
The heroes told him that Rumple had a wife. And with portals, it seems like all he had to do was think "dark one's wife" in order for it to open underneath Belle. Once the box fell through he put two and two together.
This is one more reason why Rumple shouldn't have anything to do with portals. :)
oh you know when the violin kicks in it's gonna be Mr Hyde gonna f**ked something up
2:00 he knew he had to choose between one of them and he chose the crystal....
The "heroes" are acting as if Rumple is doing some shady evil shit when all he's trying to do is to wake up his wife smh
first and wow he choose magic over love
that thing was the only way to wake up belle. he knew people were trying to take it away from him. that's why he went for it first
He thought that the portal wanted the crystal
+dark oncer Exactly!
+Henry Jackson Surprised he would?
+Analia M.B. But he dosent need the Power If he dosent have belle
on rhe other hand. in his mind all the evil things he does is to be with or help belle( but its still not ok ). but if u think about it isnt kinda just like emma when she was the dark one. he is a coward and power is the only thing he knows to use. he doesnt believe in himself to be good. i mean he even said that darkness is a part of him and it always will be. in his mind hes doing the right thing. ( check other comment for other side)
Sound from 2:05 ????????
Ridiculously late, but for anyone else wondering: “Jeykll and Hyde Suite”- Mark Isham
I think belleza will travel around the world .... un the pandora's box

Did Rumple choose the Olympian Crystal over Belle? A repeat of what happened between Baelfire and his Dagger...
I don't understand: He has TWO hands! Why didn't he take both?!?
Someone now the music at the end ?
i want to know too
this type of music i love ! you know same ?
+Floki i really liked this i guess it is mr hyde theme song but it hasnt been released yet
Yeah waiting :'c
+Floki let me know if you guys learn what the song is!
I feel so bad for Belle. She'll come out of that box with at least three broken limbs.
This scene was so great. Showing that he really cares more about the power then belle
Why? He thought the portal was going for the crystal so he reached for that, if he knew it was after belle he would have saved belle
@@danm5925 FFS he literally needs the crystal to wake up Belle and has no reason to believe someone will take Belle from him instead of the crystal
Rumple will never change. I don't like the direction the show is heading. The first few seasons were awesome, now it feels like this show is reaching soap opera.
You right. It's turned into a soap opera.
FFS he literally needs the crystal to wake up Belle and has no reason to believe someone will take Belle from him instead of the crystal
_Dr. Hyde's assistant looks like Dr. Wilks from Agent Carter....hmmm...._
He already sacrificed himself when he killed Pan.
+Teresa Gonzalez Yes!
yeah because rumple doesnt deserve to suffer... like 90% of all the bad things in this show can be traced back to him directly or indirectly
I thing Jakyl aculy ha steh same powers as Hyde but becaus he is so afraied he cant use them! i mean he is just his oposite side
Wow, I never thought about that!
That's all I think about every time I watch this.
And he still have the same cowardice that he had from all those years ago. With the same crazy movements of frantically trying to find his love.
Chose the crystal over Belle...
+xCaptainLadyAcex so pick up the box, then go get the crystal
+Zoe Sherwin The CRYSTAL was going to be use to WAKE Belle. Gold knew that's all the heroes wanted. Henry already took it away once. Just because the heroes assumed he wanted power doesn't mean they were right.
Surprise surprise! Rumple once again chose to protect his power over the woman he claims to love and the child they created together!
FFS he literally needs the crystal to wake up Belle and has no reason to believe someone will take Belle from him instead of the crystal
After all this time he dontg learn
who is that giy that now has Belle?
+Jadon Huzzie That's Mr. Hyde (From Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde)
+That Tuba Guy Ok.. raise your hand if you believe sam will get impaled in this role.. because everyother role hes played hes been impaled at least once..so hands on who thinks sam will get impaled!
+That Tuba Guy
This story is very interesting.
idk
Mr. Hyde from the story "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"
WHEN WE ALL HATED RUMPL R CHOOSING POWER OVER HIS WIFEY AND BABY!!!!!
+MOLLY JONES Not me because he didn't!
+spikelilgirl In what way did he not? You could see that he had a choice : Belle or Power/Magic
Rumple haters are just as clueless as the "heroes"
spikelilgirl Yas I see that but he could've just grabbed the box first THEN get the crystal . AND he would've had time to get both if he didn't hesitate on getting belle.b/c she isn't on a hospital bed and I doubt that the crystal would've helped her more like him plus they were after the box, not the crystal and just like last episode proved, TRUE LOVE is when you care about the other person more than yourself
sorry what
I don’t mind saying, I don’t feel sorry for Rumple at all. He had it coming.
But he did go to Maurice and told him what happened. Maurice is the one who refused to wake her up. So how is that not honoring her wishes?
The only one I'm feeling sad for is Emilie de Ravin ... they don't give her a character so she could have been a great character on the screen (but well, it was her choice to become pregnant irl)
If she wasn't just a tool to saying that even though love is a great and a good thing to have some people (many people in this world) are better on their own and they don't need to have someone to be fine on their own even as characters on a evil/bad side (Rumple should have never got some lover in this series cause in the original tale Rumpelstiltskin was just a villain and he didn't need to have a lover) cause their fans want to have their happy ending and they won't get it.
Tevin Jackson
O.k. villains can have a lover but it's clear that writers have never intended to make this relationship last now looking back to the first seasons it should have always been clear to me that they would have always intended to ruin this relationship between these two.
It was supposed to be a show about hope
Ok rumple... The same mistake than with Bae...
+LifeInPink999 no, I dont think he picked the crystal over Belle. I think he just felt a portal opening somewhere in the room and knew that the only way to wake Belle was with the crystal. But sadly he didnt think the portal would be small and appear under the box. He missed judged the situation
+Emily Dinges It was obviously meant to be a callback, don't spoil it. Rumbelle is dead.
DarthRushy maybe, but i have to say its most likely Belle's fault due to the fact she cant expect the fact that Rumple loves her and loves his power. She just cant accept him for who he is. I hope they write him a new love life. someone who will love for who he is. Darkness and everything
***** I don't think Rumple needs a love interest. I just want him to realize that his only true love is himself.
+shonte lagrone He chose magic that was going to wake up Belle, he thought someone was going to steal the crystal, that's why he went for it.
+shonte lagrone exactly, the only right way was to let Maurice wake her and let her go, not like this
+Aleksandra Markovic Maurice's kiss wasn't going to work.
FFS he literally needs the crystal to wake up Belle and has no reason to believe someone will take Belle from him instead of the crystal
This scene should speak in volumes about Rumple and what he cherishes most in the world. And, it's not Belle, "Wow, I'm so surprised".
Not gonna lie, I'm starting to dislike Rumple because he has been a jerk this entire season, but the acting in this scene is truly wonderful.
I don't blame you. I seriously hate him at the moment since Season 5 episode 11, though he does have his sympathetic moments.
Rumple is the hero of this show for me. I want him to win and without Belle.
He could have easily grabbed both.
Bellevue still not going to be happy, about rumple did with the magic, bella hasn't decided to stay with him yet,
Belle is the one that told him to do whatever it takes so this is really all her fault lol.
+Tevin Jackson to break the contract and bring her to her father, not steal all Storybrooke magic and try to hurt Regina, Emma and Henry.
Once again Rumple chose power 😐
FFS he literally needs the crystal to wake up Belle and has no reason to believe someone will take Belle from him instead of the crystal
And this is when i stopped shipping Rumbelle
has anyone else just lost all faith in rumple? Because I have lost all hope for him. He's regressed too far....
+Jay P. How? All Rumple wanted to do was save Belle & the heroes kept trying to stop him (knowing that he was trying wake up Belle)
That came from THE HEROES & look at the proof on how they treated Belle in this episode.
xCaptainLadyAcex
I'm just hoping that the relationship between Belle and Rumple gets repaired because I just can't take it anymore. My brain hurts!
+Jay P. after 5A finale. I lost it all.
i'm crying why am i crying
