  • Nobody likes latency. Nothing pulls you out of the creative flow like lagging audio. The good news is that the new Quantum audio interfaces are super low latency down to ~3ms at 96kHz, 32 samples.
But, did you know that you can go even further with a zero-latency monitoring mode when using one of the new Quantum ES or Quantum HD Interfaces and Studio One?
In this Studio One tutorial, PreSonus software specialist Gregor Beyerle demonstrates exactly how to do this.

When you press the blue z and what happens is you do monitor the signal that is coming through the Quantum but if you play back audio you cannot hear anything. Is there a way to to monitor playback and then monitor yourself? I can't figure it out

Great sounding interface, but what happened to the listen bus? I used to be able to have a listen bus that worked like the main output, but could be assigned independently to a headphone out, which is critical when wanting to have different plugins on the listen bus. This was a feature on the Quantum 26x32.

Whaiting for the new rack miunt digital mixer series with build in dps. I hope they are 32 bit.

zero latency is great, but I'm not sure how new this because my presonus studio 68 has "blue Z" (or was it a "green Z" sorry, I can't remember?) for a while. Getting away from latency, does anyone know what real world improvement the 32bit processing in new HD2 has over the 24bit processing of the new ES4 (or for that matter, the 24b in my old studio 68)?

It's the better converters man and new preamps that is bothering me... SO if we still want the 2626 real near zero latency!!!!! we have to use old tech now... :(

Why couldn’t they have just added a blue z button on the interface itself? Direct monitoring is a must have feature tbh, and this works but this works with studio one… I use Logic Pro. Does that mean I have to use the universal control app to start direct monitoring?

so [essentially] when you scrap all the bulk & fluff, you took 6 minutes to explain direct monitoring; but in a roundabout way 🤔

I am disappointed at how all these guys are ignoring our Latency questions... What happen to the Thunderbolt version? Why did they stop because this is not a Quantum! I have a lot of money invested in PreSonus too so that makes it much worse... How could you all go backwards? We improve technology we don't go backwards... You say Zero latency but if you use amp sims or Irs on a real amp, Latency becomes a HUGE issue...
Who forgot about that type of user? In my conditions here I live in an Apartment, and I have already had complaints trying to record with my real cabinet, so I have my speaker turned off and am using the built in load box for the direct out that connects through the 2626 which goes straight to a track with a speaker IR. Without that IR the tone is AWFUL MAN.
I used to use that on one of the "cheaper" PreSonus interfaces that had that zero-latency monitoring, but you have to have the amp speakers working in the room so you don't hear latency... SO crazy they are ignoring us. Feel like I'm talking to a wall here :(
Thinking about Universal audio or something that still uses Thunderbolt... It makes a difference... closer to ZERO the better!!! For now, I only need 8 tracks, but I wanted another 8 for recording my Acoustic guitar with 2 mics plus a second guitar for blues stuff so yeah...
I am ready to expand BUT PreSonus has let me down...:(

I have this feature already with my Presonus Studio 1824c and it costs half as much. Thank you Gregor, but you need to tell Presonus to tell Fender that they need more innovation than hardware monitoring. How about some DSP onboard?

This 👆 . I sold my Presonus 1810c because it didn't have any dsp. My Steinberg UR44C has no latency DSP. It's so nice to put some fx on an incoming signal and not take any latency hits.

You can't do all that for AMP SIMS MAN... Tellin ya PLUS WHO Mixes at 96Khz????? Most people I know use 48 which is even slower in the new interface! because we need tons of tracks and at 96khtz We can stack maybe 16 tracks for all the effects and everything else required for METAL MUSIC!!!! This interface is useless to me because of the SLOW latency!!! Where is the upgrade for the 2626???? That thing runs 10 amp sims with no latency issues!!!! The new one won't run 1... :(

Along the same lines here, Im confused. Didn't we have blueZ mode with the Quantum1 and Quantum2? Then those TB interfaces were scrapped, as Presonus moves to all USB? Leaving the 2626 ...where... in the lineup?? How about blue z for us (vs Green z)?!?! I don't understand the product lineup, and frankly, the way the Presonus handled the transition of their "flagship" line of audio interfaces was pretty poor. And Im a longtime Presonus convert and have loved Fender guitars for 40+ yrs. I got optimistic when I noticed that the "updated" Presonus Quantum 2626 User Guide on Presonus website, finally seemed to indicate DAW addressable mic preamps (like the Quantum1/2 had) had come to the 2626. Really??? Nope, my Sweetwater rep confirmed with Presonus, that the Presonus website and the updated manual were in fact, both incorrect. What's going on at Presonus? (As an experience technology leader and customer, I would love to explore ways I might be able to help. Just sayin. 😁)
So again, @Presonus, please help existing Quantum 2626 customers understand current product positioning of the Quantum2626 in mid-2024, and please help me understand the upgrade path for existing 2626 customers from a 2626 to a ... slower USB interface?? I understand the Fender acquisition is bound to cause some bumps, but I just genuinely don't understand the "sell" to existing customers. Would love a DM if that's possible. --------------- Gregor & Joe for President! Keep up the great work and INVALUABLE constant sharing of knowledge and enthusiasm! Love you guys. Cheers!
