I use a clear shower curtain for the rain. I clip them on the canopy with curtain hooks. Not sure how that would work with an umbrella. I’m pretty sure it’ll work the same. This way- people can still see your stuff from the outside or even step in to shop or for shelter. 🥰. The last market it rained and I got some sales from it. It’s a win win.
Love that idea! 🤩 I actually bought a 9 foot umbrella to plan for any rain events (as long as the organizers did not have size restrictions for our umbrellas) & it actually worked well for me and kept my plushies dry (along with the guests) ☺️
If I live somewhere where it rained a lot, I feel like I would have a laminated catalog of everything I have for sale 😂 a clear plastic tarp is also a good idea!
I love that idea! I might take that with me to my next market. Apparently, there's rain in the forecast again. That's the frustrating thing though! I don't live in a place where it rains a lot. 😓 This is probably the most rain I've seen in Southern California in years! 🥲 We definitely need it, but most of the markets I attend only allow their vendors to use umbrellas rather than tents.
Bahahaha I just imagined a blank table with a laminated portfolio and everything stashed in containers still hahahaha
@@pottymouthedplanter LOL T_T I don't think people would stop by the table if it was just that
Omfg “friendor!” Hehehe I love that. I love the umbrella thing with the lights!! I would have stuck it out since already there as long as another vendor was there too lol
Yes! Friendors are awesome! They really help to pass the time if it's super slow. I usually stick it out because I'm already there and sometimes get last minute sales. I also haven't figured out a nice way to highlight my table without putting the lights on the umbrella so I always set up with it.
Glad you stuck it out. What light did you use ? It was very bright
I'm glad I did too! The light I used was a pack of 2 LED rechargeable work lights with clamps by Easymaxx on Amazon. It's bright because it's 2100 Lumens 😅
I say um ALL THE TIME 🤦♀️ i dont notice it until i watch myself back ughhh lol
Haha I definitely subconsciously fill the space with sound while I’m thinking of what to say next. I think we’ll get better at it with time! 🤭
You might want to look into a clear plastic tarp. Joann fabric has clear plastic and you can buy just the size you need.
Thank you for the suggestion! I'll definitely look into for any future markets where I can anticipate rain.
I'd be a bit too nervous about doing an outdoor market so I might have been scared off.
I am glad that it worked out for you!
@@SoniaB I've only ever attended 2 indoor markets and didn't do as well as I have at outdoor markets. I haven't researched well enough to do more indoor events though, but I really should give it another go!
Hi, I really liked your plushies, could you tell me where did you get your capibara patter? Thank u :)
Thank you so much! The capybara pattern I used is a paid pattern called No Sew Baby Capybara pattern by PlushiCoPatterns on Etsy!
