Couldn't get a more Aussie couple! Great to see your workmanship and mechanical skills- should be proud of yourselves!

Glad you got your aircon fixed! Wow you had to do it yourself. Interesting history to Darwin and the air attacks

Yes it was a big relief to be cool again. Without even really trying, we discovered a lot about the attacks on Australian soil in places like Kalumburu and Broome. A lot of people suffered, and we didn't really know much about it. Very eye opening.

Thank you, and I bet you can't wait. The inspiration is sort of why we started with the videos. Sharing what we have learnt. When we first tried to find out about these vans, and how suitable one might be to go off the beaten track in Australia, we couldn't really find anything on the tube. Mostly just the odd German tester driving in an old quarry where a Falcon wouldn't get stuck, and one Aussie van that didn't really go off road. It was a bit of a leap of faith.

Good to have the aircon fixed. I have the same vehicle and am converting to camper as well. I also had an issue with my aircon, only one place in my area would look at it. Luckily only seals. I think your name for your van is a little harsh, as it is certainly not as fugly as some. You said in a previous post that you made your spare wheel carrier. Are you going to manufacture them.

It was a bit fugly,... No a lot fugly, when we first it on tiny little tyres in the car yard, and it's just sort of stuck. I agree, he looks much better now. Almost macho if I squint. Yes, I am making the wheel carriers and some other things. No website yet, it's coming soon, but for information now you can contact me via another website of ours www.jamescorbettart.com

At 2:03 sounds like a great camp...see what I did there?
At 20:00, did you find any human bones on the beach...I'm a southerner and crocs and Irukandji are not part of my experience.
    Great about the A/C...at last.

Just saw my earlier reply didn't stick for some reason. No bones. The water is very clear there, and shallow for a long way out, so some of the locals were having a quick sit and splash in water about a foot deep or less. When in Darwin, do as the locals I guess...We survived...refreshed.

Both my fathers fought side by side in Darwin.. My adopted father, a white man and my biological father, an indigenous man. After the attack and upon return to Victoria my father (adopted) was able to secure a war veterans loan in which to purchase the family home. My biological father (indigenous) was not afforded the same opportunity, even though they both worked in the same profession for the same wage and fought under the same flag.
My father, (adopted) is buried in a war veteran’s grave and received a war veterans pension, my biological father never received a veterans pension and nor is he buried in a war veteran’s grave.
The attack on Darwin was kept very hush, hush at the time as the government didn’t want to alarm people, so much so that many had absolutely no idea until years after the fact.

Yes, things weren't right, but I will thank them both for their service to the country. There are lots of things to learn about our history, good bad and secret, in some of the little museums around the top end, in places like Kununurra, Wyndham, and Broome

You sure can, if it's a good one. We had one at the start of the trip that developed a screeching mind of its own after we fixed it to the inside windscreen camera mount and drove on corrugations. We have some collar ones too, that seem very unreliable. Really annoying when you look at a video later and discover the sound isn't there or very poor. We are not professionals and I do try and play with the sound in editing. Maybe next trip.

@@ArdashMuradian We are very basic, we mostly use our iPhone SEs, and and sometimes a DJI mini pro 4, and of course the drone on occasion. So certainly not very flash. It's just a bit of fun for us. Glad you still enjoyed the video.
