Thank you for this. I live far away now and spent many a Summer at my grandfather's home at the tip of Calves Pasture Point, down Scudder Lane.... great memories... and my dad's and uncle's ashes went in the large harbor.

Next time you're in Barnstable, check out the Sturgis Library. The building it is housed in is the oldest library building in the US and is the former home of Rev. John Lothrop, the ancestor of 6 presidents and dozens of other historical VIPs.

@@PierreRepooc Interesting note about Rev. Lothrop: from 1632 - 1634, he was imprisoned in The Clink prison in London for preaching outside the organized church. His wife died while he was in so for a time his 7 children lived on the streets of London as homeless. In 1635, shortly after the family arrived in MA, his 2nd child Jane, married Samuel Fuller - The Younger, who in 1620 at 12 yrs old, arrived on The Mayflower with his parents, Edward and Ann Fuller, who died that first Pilgrim winter.

My pleasure. I do have to get back to the Cape to finish filming all those quaint old towns there.

Way too many American flags there for my comfort. I'd hardly want to spend time in the right wing capital of the country!
