My Top 20 of Uplifting, Emotional & Orchestral Trance 2014

- Hello everyone! Please read the description before asking anything (about tracklist, wallpapers...).
To begin I would like to thank all my subscribers for your amazing support on my uploads, I read & appreciate every comment and video sharing! I wish you all the best for this new year, and I sincerely hope you will reach your goals and stay in phase with your own true values, that's important :)
So, a new year begins, and it's time for a small compilation of my personal favorites tracks of 2014. As last year, I decided to make a full 2-hour mix for this top 20, and share some of the tracks I liked and listened the most during this year. Those tracks are all released in 2014 on labels (except one unofficial remix which is a free release but is so good that I had to include it here). The real ranking begins at n°5, the other tracks have been numbered a bit randomly. For my Tune of the Year, I hesitated between the last 3 awesome pieces of this mix, and I finally chose the one that gives me the most positive feelings. But really, those tracks are masterpieces and the ranking is not fixed, just enjoy the beauty of music!
Most of the tracks are orchestral trance, I hope you won't take it as a narrow-minded point of view because I'm a very open-minded person. Trance (and music in general) has so many diverse styles and I like many of them, but for me emotions first, and this style is the best to make me feel emotions ;)
A few words about my channel in 2015. I will try to share my favorite tracks (and maybe new productions of mine if I get some time, motivation and passion to make some) with you as I always did, but I can't guarantee you anything honestly. The labels' restrictions are often high, and I know I won't be free to share exactly the tracks that I like the most (which has also been a bit the case in 2014 sadly). I also think labels are strong enough to make everything on their own, including touching the largest audience by Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud, UA-cam... I still enjoy sharing this passion for trance with you, and I hope you appreciate that, but maybe a time will come and I will have to stop...
You are welcome to post in the comments your personal favorites because I'm always curious to know your taste. I just ask you to respect my choice if you don't agree with it and if there are not your personal favorite tracks & producers here, thanks :)

I honestly don't understand how ArtuR - Flying Martlets (tranzLift Remix) can be missing from most Top X uplifting trance lists. For me, it's not only my #1 favorite of 2014, it's in my top 3 of all time. Anyway, thanks for the nice list, I discovered a few nice pieces in there! :-)
Cool to read that! I will listen to the tune you mentionned, as I remember it was a good one but nothing really special for me, but I will give it a second chance hehe :) and everyone has his own taste so that's really cool for you if you found one of your favorite tracks of all time!
EverFlo Music Trance
Of course everyone has his/her own taste. I don't know about you, but I've been mostly listening to trance music for the past 15 years or so, and after that long of a time you truly get to appreciate originality. Sure, all 20 tracks in your list are great in their own right, and worthy of honorable mentions at the very least, but experience brings me to only notice a handful as being original and/or uncommon pieces which are not a drag to listen to. Too many tracks these days sound like ones I've heard before; the melodies can be original in and of themselves, but the instrumentation and mastering are like a copy-paste from dozens of older tracks. I basically tell myself "this sounds too much like they're trying to ride Andy Bluman's coattails", or whoever they end up sounding like.
I'm not trying to discuss tastes, but merely making a point about originality and "freshness" being important. By the way, I'm also wondering how Love Will Rise Again, by Hoyaa, is also missing from your list! I'm guessing it came too late in the year to get to say "I've listened to this one a lot this year". ;-)
Olivier Labrosse Yeah, Hoyaa - Love Will Rise Again is an amazing track, I could have included it here indeed, it's always hard to make a choice. As I already had his remix of the Gladiator theme, I chose something else ;)
Well, about originality it's also a bit a matter of taste, if you really like a style you won't get tired of it in a short time... But I agree with you, originality is obviously one of the most important things in music. I've been listening to trance for less time than you (5-6 years), and sadly I noticed a progressive decline about originality and quality over the years. On the other side, the most original tracks are not always the best tracks to me, even if I recognize and appreciate a lot when I hear something really fresh and uncommon.
As a big fan of orchestral & film music, this Blueman stuff combining trance and orchestral is great to me. It doesn't mean I don't like other trance genres, I like a bit of everything actually if it sounds musically good, not distorted and not overcompressed. For me the essential part (except originality) is the emotional side and the melody, all the rest is important but comes after. The tracks I put here gave me chills, but I can understand someone else can get tired of this style because our taste, sensibility and way to listen to music are different. And I also agree that too many orchestral trance tracks (a big majority actually) are generic, lack originality and emotion.

Interesting selection. Some of which I had forgotten about. Always nice to hear someone else´s top 10 or top 20. Love the number 6th one and the picture of russell crowe with headphones on haha !! Good selection, definitely more orchestral in style than my top 10.
Hehe yeah the Airzoom track I like it a lot, even if it's similar to Pachelbel's canon, it's full of feelings. I didn't upload it because many others already made it before, but you can be sure I heard it a lot ;)
I have to check your top again, I remember some tracks but I still had not taken the time to check them entirely. Haha yeah the Russell Crowe picture with headphones is epic :D

So I've heard the whole mix now! Really really beautiful tunes, and I also love your mixing this time, looks as if you have put a lot of work into this video mate ;)! When I read your description I see this "Those tracks are all released in 2014 on labels (except one unofficial remix which is a free release but is so good that I had to include it here)". At first I thought it was my tune, but then I noticed that he's officially released haha! It was the Hoyaa Remix, and yes it's a wonderful version from this Hans Zimmer masterpiece! Overall I really love your choice here, your place 1 is a emotional tune from SoundLift and this makes me really happy because he is one of the few producers after all these years, still continues with his style and he has never changed it. He has not become mainstream, and this is what I love so, your place one is also my place one! I also like the tune from Paul Rigel. New World, of course he is good, and in my eyes his tune "Giver Of Life" is much better then his Ushio tune, but this is just my taste. And of course my big favorit here is this "Fly To Paradise" tune, man, I love this guy, he makes just amazing tunes hehe :P!! Haha! Thank you so much for this gift my friend, I never thought that I can hear one of my tunes in your best of year mix, that's an honor! I must also say that this tune is really something special. I think he just describes all about me, my whole style is written in this tune, and this is what makes him so special. Of course I want to make much new tunes this year, and it makes me happy to know that I have such a loyal listeners like you =D!

Yes, making such a mix always takes some time. "Fly To Paradise" definitely deserved to be here, I just love your style and this tune symbolizes it as you said. With the time, I spend less and less time on UA-cam but trust me, I will always take the time to listen to your productions ;)
Agree with your words about SoundLift, he is a real musician and he understands music in a way that we can be sure he will never become mainstream, and I think he has an interesting personality moreover. And with his new own label he will be totally free to express himself and make exactly what he wants. "Giver of Life" and "Ushio" are equivalent for me, I know "Ushio" doesn't work for everybody, but for me it's very emotional so that's why it's in the top 3.

Why no Emanuele Congeddu? Hmmm I'm sorry to say that but I don't get many feelings with his music. The problem may be his style, and also the excess of compression in his tracks (maybe because the labels require it too...). That kills the emotions and makes the tracks pretty messy in my eyes, they sound too "noisy" and "metallic". They are not bad (pretty good actually), but this problem really bothers me. That's a pity because he makes good melodies, and I'm sure he has great producing skills and he wants to give emotions to people (which I always respect), that just doesn't work with me...
