Interesting video. I am glad there are people who are willing to do the research and take the time to do these "Filming Locations" videos. RIP Tania Mallet (1941-2019)
Tania was just 23 years old as she shooted this movie. She was so young... And now she is dead since 5 years. It's incredible that this brilliant movie has been made a whole life time ago. And she went from movie making back to modelling. Became a mother and grandmother. Time really flies... RIP dear Tania Mallet.
What a great comparison video. Thank you for making it. :) Around the same time as Goldfinger, the Swiss Army filmed Wehrhafte Schweiz that showed off their impressive firepower. So it makes sense that Goldfinger attacked Fort Knox rather than a Swiss fortress.
Now look here.(Monty Python type Major talking) To knock off Fort Knox required the work of 1 insane Englishman, lots of north Koreans, a Chinese or two, the American syndicates and a squadron of Lesbians. They (would) have defeated the whole 3rd Armored division , if successful .Wehrhafte Schweiz . What was that? Some business bankers on skies, vicious attack Bernese hounds, and 2 Saab jets? Ehh? Sorry , just had to. Teehee!
Fascinating video, thanks. The garage is now a hotel I believe but they have retained the forecourt roof. A few years ago I rode my snowboard down to the back of the garage but had no idea then that it was the film location.
Just returned from a trip to Italy. On the way back drove over Furkapass to see James Bond scenes. Wished I'd seen this first, would have helped to identify where those scenes were shot. Thanks for posting this, and the time and effort in producing it.
Really well done! I always wondered where Auric's factory was located and have spent a number of trips on the Furka Pass rubbernecking - looking for that sawtooth roof. Hah! You have solved the mystery. Vielen Dank!
Many many thanks for posting this. Your film was extremely informative and will be of great help for my own trip to Switzerland where I plan to see these locations for myself ............... and after I purchased the silver DB5 (obviously). Thanks again.
Yeah. You can't even see it from the road anymore. I remember sitting in the back seat of my dads car and was amazed to see the glacier from the road driving by. That must have been in the late 80s or early 90s.
Tolle compilation (Respekt fuer den Aufwand an den Poster - Anreise/Filmen/Editing/Mixing) und ein schoener User Kommentar! Vielen Dank fuer diese Beitraege.
Another big thank you for making this video! As a huge Bond fan, Furka Pass is one of the my top destinations while driving through the Alps. I am doing a 15 day road trip through Western Europe this July, and plan to spend 3 days in the Alps. Hope to eventually post a few pictures and videos as well.
Interesting to see the present day scene at 5:14 at the Furkapass whose river has nearly no running water like in 1964.Was it a different time of year that the river would be dry that the scenes were shot?
On the contrary - the accompanying soundtrack is just awful and has absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to a 007 movie. Apparently you've never seen one.
I've driven the Furka Pass many times and know that hairpin where Hotel Belvedere is. I even remember filling up at that gas station on the road entering Andermatt. Those roads are better on a motorcycle though.
Although interesting to watch this hurts just goes to show how everything changes as the years go by and the once beautiful is all gone. And that also means everything about 1964.... Connery old man now all the bond films and there bond elements never the same.. locations and the world etc
amarsbarr tell me about it my friend I hate to watch these quote on location videos where filming took place I watched the first one was about Rambo this guy when ton location in Canada where all the Rambo scenes were shot he went to those exact location certain things changed or maybe do floods or whatever conditions but he pretty much he pretty much covered all of the scene that was shot in Rambo that's what I hope to do when I get enough money to go on location one day
Okay, Geschmackssache.
Wow, how much neater and cleaner things looked back in 1964. It has just gotten really crowded and a bit tarnished since then, but that is a worldwide phenomenon. The metal light post / sign post and the oval flower bed with the short wall around is at the filling station has not moved a bit, only the pole'"s color has changed from a great yellow to a boring white.
This is really interesting. I wish I would have known about this scene at Pilatus. In my aerospace career, I worked with their engineering and called on them form the states. Good memories of Stans. Good food to.
Great Video with perfect positioned shots!! Any plans to do a remake with a 66 Mustang or On her Majesty´s secret service with a Cougar 50 anniversary ?
Has anybody else noticed that at 4:57 the concrete bollard to the left of Sean Connery has been broken and yet, when Tilly Masterton shoots at Goldfinger and Sean throws himself to the ground, it is repaired. I've seen these films so many times and never before noticed it.
It is not broken/repaired. The shot of the bullet impact is simply executed from a differenc camera position where the broken pollard can't be seen, because a different frame was chosen. The following medium long shot from below the car also shows Connery closer to the car than where he was standing before, at the moment of the impact. When going down (shot from above), he is 3-4 meters away from the right fender; when nealing (shot from below), he is beside the car. These "things" happen all the time in movie making ;-)
That's funny.... A few days ago YT presented me a 2023 locations comparison. So it would be great if someone hacked together a 3-way comparison : *Original vs 2011 vs 2023*
Absolut genial.
Thank your, very nice comparison between then now! Great job
Thank you Sir... appreciate you took the time...!!!
It's always great to see the "then and now" location shots from these classic movies. Thanks for posting!

Nice work! I was at Pilatus Werke so many times. I need to go where JB were sitting and watching :-)
Yeah, this was a great experience !!!
The hotel in Andermatt still has a Sean Connery room. Left like it was back then.
These places are still there in 2020.
Thank you for posting. Well done!
Thanks for your time mojoman !!!
Hello,
thanks for the movie about Goldfinger. Great nostalgie !

Danke für die Mühe!
So well done! Thank you!
Kool,thanx.Love this NOW and THEN!
Great job! I would like to visit the Switzerland Goldfinger places! This video will be very useful!
Super gemacht. Sehnsuchtsort seit Kindheit. Vielen Dank.
Sehr cooles Video, Respekt für den Aufwand!
Danke vielmals !!!
What a great comparison video. Thank you for making it. :)

Sehr Gut! Sind auch gerade in der Schweiz! Vielen Dank fuer das tolle Video!

What a fantastic video. Thank you for this!!
Great video, always wanted to go there and one for the bucket list, thanks for sharing.

Geil.
Danke Danke Danke ;-)
Wahnsinnig toll gemacht! Absolut geil! ++++ !
nice.. and great music !
Thanks, Oli...
great work! Best video on the Swiss Goldfinger locations 👍
Thank you so much... I really appreciate your words.
That is so cool, thanks from Florida.
Danke fürs Hochladen.
2:25 + 2:31 Compare how the Rhone glaciar has reduced! On 2:31 the glaciar is no more visible... Global warming...
Yeah. You can't even see it from the road anymore. I remember sitting in the back seat of my dads car and was amazed to see the glacier from the road driving by. That must have been in the late 80s or early 90s.
Amazing how the sites remained almost unchanged after half a century. No overdevelopment despite its a rich country.
This was really 👍. Post more..
Thanks a lot...
My favorite bond film.
Tolle compilation (Respekt fuer den Aufwand an den Poster - Anreise/Filmen/Editing/Mixing) und ein schoener User Kommentar! Vielen Dank fuer diese Beitraege.

Looks like the glacier is no longer there. Snowfields change with the season, but not so much with glaciers !! Climate change ???
Thank you. I've always wondered where those scenes were filmed.
Guter Bericht.
Wow nothing has change or praticly. Awesome video
Very entertaining, thank you.
Bravo! Wirklich toll gemacht!
A great Job. THX!!
Interesting to see the present day scene at 5:14 at the Furkapass whose river has nearly no running water like in 1964.Was it a different time of year that the river would be dry that the scenes were shot?
Great Visuals...and the accompanying soundtrack is spot on.....Cheers From Ohio
On the contrary - the accompanying soundtrack is just awful and has absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to a 007 movie. Apparently you've never seen one.
Einfach großartig!!!
Incredible to see how much the glacier behind the Belvedere Hotel has receded.
2:55 The glacier behind the house is gone...😢
CHF1.94 for a litre of diesel in May 2011! And I thought today's price of CHF1.55 was bad!
Terrific video. Very interesting to see the then and now.
I've driven the Furka Pass many times and know that hairpin where Hotel Belvedere is. I even remember filling up at that gas station on the road entering Andermatt. Those roads are better on a motorcycle though.
Sehr schön gemacht- ich mag solche Drehort- Videos. Habe kürzlich eins von "Die Brücke" gemacht. Aber nicht so aufwändig wie Deins.Toll
Einfach super !!!!!
Grüsse aus Enguera, Spanien.
Sehr gut gemacht, danke!
Danke!
What a cool thing to do, thanks, wish I was there
The shot of the blonde by the silver car then panning over is pure Bond influenced !
Koll choice of music for the soundtrack. What is it? Thanx.
So cool!

That's interesting. I thought it was amazing how little everything had changed!
Absolutely the opposite! What doesn't hurt, what brings me joy, is how much today looks like 50 years ago. Did you watch the same video as I did?
Switzerland is losing its European pristine culture. And that may be irreversible!
Fantastic❤️❤️❤️please the adress where Sean was on your feet in Furkapass
Thank you Roberto... as soon as you reach Andermatt in Switzerland (Gas station) drive the "Furkapass" starting in Realp and you'll find it all ...
@@beetleworx Thank you
so much, my dream is reach this location. You are so kind to answer my question. Best regards from Italy
@@robertoperugini7137 You're welcome... looking forward to visit new locations as well... there will be a time. Greetings from Germany.
Recalled my memories
Tolles Video... Und ebenfalls aus Kreis GG :-) Viele Grüße aus Golle .-)
Love your video and the music! What soundtrack did you use?
@Brook Fields Thanks alot for the information! Very helping.
hey, gleich nebenan. guck ich mir nächstes Wochenende mal an :-)
awesome job guys!!
Check out the pine tree behind the wall in Andermatt how it's grown since 84.

Thanks Nice Video. By the Way also very high petrol costs in 2011 08:50
Thanks a lot !!!
great stuff !!!!
Great Video with perfect positioned shots!! Any plans to do a remake with a 66 Mustang or On her Majesty´s secret service with a Cougar 50 anniversary
?
... sold my Cougar recently, sorry :-) ... but "OHMSS" is on my list. Working on a location video of "The great escape" from 1962 at the moment.

Is the Hotel Belvedere at Furkapass still open? Several internet sites in 2016 listed it as closed.
Closed indefinitely, sadly it has been declining for a looong time.
Name of the song?
Awesome job by the way !
Great! I like to do the same...I remembered the movie when I drove from Interlaken to Italy thru Furka Pass in 2000
That's funny.... A few days ago YT presented me a 2023 locations comparison. So it would be great if someone hacked together a 3-way comparison : *Original vs 2011 vs 2023*
