Sir, I need your grammar book smashing grammar. How can I get it in Pakistan ?
Thank you nice explanation
Hi,I thought model verbs only showed, possibility, ability, possession and obligation,if this is true how can it show tense,if it dose can you demonstrate please.
I can dance. I could dance. (Both show ability. One is present. One is past.) Also, "will" is classified as a modal verb. It is essential in showing tense.
Thank you for your reply. This is crucial to my understanding the infinitive because you have said it is one word but you are showing two to make the point, dance is present but can and could are causing a comprehension issue.I thank you Grammar monster for your input.
Thank you! now I got it 🙏🏼
Thanks a lot ❤
Thank you for the information 😇😇

He does not like me....if does is finite verb then like is what?
"Like" is the main verb. Do not confuse finite verbs and main verbs. A finite verb tells you the tense. A main verb gives the meaning. A main verb is usually a finite verb, but not when there are auxiliary verbs -- the first auxiliary verb is usually the finite verb.
Good question!
