So jealous of the awesome drone footage! Great video guys. So glad we finally got to meet and even better, run a race together. Looking forward to working together in the future and seeing what’s possible when we bring our talents and creativity together! Keep inspiring and strengthening this incredible community!
Thank you my friend! Great meeting you out there, and nice job on your finishing time. You smoked us! And yes, future collaboration(s), definitely a must. More to come!
Sorry we missed you! And thank you!! Hope your prep for Palmerton is going well, good luck at your race, and have a great time! It doesn't look like we're gonna make it out to Palmerton this year which is unfortunate. Hope to see you out on the course on the next one. AROO!
Hi I’m thinking about doing this race may 5th but I will be doing it alone and I’m a little scared I will get lost. Did you find that there was always another runner somewhat in front of you that you’d be able to follow? Thanks!
Great question! To be 100% honest, there were a few spots where there was no one around but the two of us, and there were one or two spots where the trail was marked pretty poorly and we got off trail. We weren't lost for long, nor completely alone for very long, but that was the full picture of what we experienced. We don't want to dissuade you from doing the event, as it is really nice out there, we just want to give you good information.
It was a nice change of pace. Going from the obstacles to just running, I would suggest the longer distances (21k and up), it makes it more of a challenge. We'd do one again.
Thank you my friend! We got sort of lost out there a couple of times, we couldn't easily see some of the trail markings. Did you have the same experience??
@@OCRKings oh yea, the top finisher passed me twice cause he took a wrong turn and there was a particular uphill spot where I stood and couldn't see any markers in either direction. It was like it was under-marked in the technical bits but on the straight flats there was one every 20ft lol. With that many trails criss-crossing, a mostly good job though.
Agreed. That was right in the beginning, it was full of rocks and water, and went on a downhill angle. Most of the people were slowing down at that point, but since Damer and I had just done the supper muddy NJ race, we had recently run in similar conditions, and decided to speed up. The shoes we had are great in that stuff and speeding up helped get us out of the early bottleneck of runners. It was cool to see different terrain and conditions out there, wasn't expecting that. We thought it might all just be cleared and packed down trails. Not so, and it made it more interesting.
Damer approved! Have been using these thru 2022 and still loving them. Great on obstacles like rope climb, felt great during the Dallas ultra, and were good underfoot during that recent mudfest in NJ at our sprint... Mack might not be totally sold on them but is still wearing them (for now) - and it would be insane if we both actually agreed on something like footwear!
Thank you! And yes this was something new for us. I guess Spartan has had trail races for a few seasons, but this is the first time we went out and did one. We'd do another one, it was fun. It's also something that we do every weekend, running on the trails, but here we ran with a great lot of other people. It was cool.
We are really lucky it's the two of us out there. The trail race is ok to do alone, but it is way better with two or more, especially when you get lost out there and can't find the next flag/trail marking. There was a lot of that going on with the later stages of this race.
You know what would have been better - a bunch of people sitting around talking about how other people did the race... Just kidding! WTF would anyone want crap like that? Good job getting out there boys!

WOW! Awesome guys, now I want to run one of these!
Thanks, and you should!!
Kinda weird not seeing any obstacles! Looked like a great day and run. Great video as usual!
Thank you! And yes, it was beautiful out there, a great day for running!
Also kind of weird not seeing these two dirty at the end!
🤣 Cleanest we've every been after a race!
I was there too! I wish I would have seen you guys. I love your videos - in fact I'm watching some now to prepare for Palmerton lol.

I'm going to be there on the 4th doing the 10k if you wanted a buddy! Not sure how fast I will be but doing it for the adventure!
beautiful video guys, looked like a great day for running
Thank you!
Very cool. Always wanted to give those a try.

for "just" running, you got some really great shots there! happy to run it with ya'll!

Great camerawork and really beautiful backdrop there!
That day was perfect in everyway. Made the camera work easier than many of our other races!
That rocky section early in the vid… oooph… that requires so much concentration to run through. Looks like a fun course though
That part was actually more like mile 11 to 12. And it was a bit tough

Are you both running in the Inov-8 X-Talons here? We need a 2023 shoe update from Damer - have we found the golden ticket?

Would you ever do one of these again?
This was an enjoyable run, but we wouldn't rush to do another Spartan Trail to be honest. Could just go out and run this trail for free.
So... wait. All trail? Nice. Fun. Great job. And you did it all while holding a camera on a stick. Awesome. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Cool. I occasionally get to the mnt bike trails in our area and run them. They don't like it but it helps. Good training.
interesting, hadn't considered one of these
Neither had we until this year. It's worth checking out.
I wish I had a runner friend that ran my pace. I have runner friends but one of us is either much faster or slower

didn't even know Spartan did these
Yep, you should check them out, especially the half marathon
You know what would have been better - a bunch of people sitting around talking about how other people did the race... Just kidding! WTF would anyone want crap like that? Good job getting out there boys!
Doing is better, yes agreed
no obstacles eh?
Nope!
Liking the different/new camera stuff boys!
Thanks! More to come!
I like the new adventures and new avenues to explore. Keep it up guys!
Thank you! There are a lot of adventures to be had out there. Stay tuned
