Stunning ! Will be in SF in 3 weeks time. Am planning on visiting ALL the spots you recommended, being a foodie and wanting to travel off the touristy areas 🙏💛
I first came to SF Chinatown was around 1940 after I passed immigration inspection at Angel island then my dad was waiting for me at SF Chinatown it was new year's eve at Grant Avenue I got a mouthful of confettis !
We have just started watching your videos in Manchester, UK as we plan our trip to San Francisco later in the year. We love your videos. Best we have found and have us excited about our upcoming trip we are putting together. Watched the Napa video and now we’re watching this one!
We're leaving for San Francisco first thing in the morning from Manchester, UK. First time visiting the States. Thank you for your video. Can't wait to visit China Town.
I’ve lived is SF Chinatown for a few years back in early 90’s. I live in south California now and I really miss eating all the real yummy Chinese foods and dim sum. 🤤🤤🤤
Just discovered your videos ! Great content and narration! My husband and I are going next May to celebrate our 30th and have a 20 day road trip plan. your videos are exactly what we need to plan our trip! Thanks for sharing!!!
@@TouristtoLocal Yes, their baked bbq pork buns are some of the best in the city. Also get their scallion buns, beef shumai, pork shumai and sesame ball. But their baked bbq pork buns are a must!
Nice video. I agree with the noodle shop..one of my fav. I lived in Chinatown since 78 and been through the ups and downs. Unfortunately, it's been more of downs (lots of unique places closed down such as Dragon Papa with their dragon beard candy) There are plenty of hidden gems. By Me Boba (next to the Fortune cookie with their unique Taiwan milk tea); Delicious Dim Sum (Stick rice dumplings / Shrimp Dumplings); Yummy Bakery. Little Swan is known for the Durian flavored crepe cake, I think Lady M is better down at Mountain View. Unfortunately, a lot of younger generations prefer to venture out to Sunset or drive down to San Mateo for food now.
Oh god, I felt full just *watching* you guys eat the dim sum! You know what would've been great to go along with it? Maybe some Chinese Mai Tais over at the Li Po Lounge on Grant street! Pretty strong though. I've heard that one is amusing, two you'd better have 911 on speed dial, and three your next of kin. Anthony Bourdain loved that place!

I really enjoyed Chinatown last time. Ate at a restaurant called The Peninsular because Prez Obama had eaten there.. It pretty good but next time i'll visit Chong Qing. That spicy noodle soup looked really good!! Great vid. "Like"
From a native that is Chinese American - quit spewing nonsense. Chinatown is Chinatown - you're going to negate the historic significance of the neighborhood as an immigration hub where great things came from? Clement street has more chinese stores and restaurants yes but that isn't a chinatown. Clements origins came from a mix of Chinese and Russian immigrants in the Richmond district but that one strip of land is by no means a Chinatown.
That's where I go all the Time to get Dim Sum, the flavors and consistency is irresistible and irreplaceable 😁🍤🥡🥘🎯, I like the chicken flavor, tender and unique flavor, most people are more attracted to the most popular selections, but order the chicken and the pork flavor both. A lot of steaming stuff if good too.

There are tons of trinkets for sale on Grant Avenue and any kid would LOVE to shop there!
So much to look at! We love it!
6:32 wrong order. you should get the Baked BBQ Pork Buns instead of those steamed bbq pork buns. Their baked bbq pork buns are incredible!
Guess we need to go back!

Wonderful video, thank you. Crimes against Asians is up 300% since the pandemic so please be kind.
Glad you enjoyed it! Stop Asian Hate!
It doesn't happen this often in Chinatown since there are lots of Asian people there
Arm yourselves out there. Tourists beware.
