#Victrix #ps5 #playstation #unboxing #review
I bought the Victrix both because of the price and because of the modular design and it's the best choice I could have made.
The back paddles being completely remappable is a god send to let me play when my tendonitis flares up. Hell I even grew to prefer that method of play for action games since my response time is faster and it's so much more comfortable. The only time it trips me up is when I need specific inputs since I forget which button is which but that's more of a goldfish memory issue than anything.
I've actually been able to play games again and the light weight only helps me there.
Happy to hear that!
If you get an adapter you can even use it with the switch. Its the controller that actually does everything.
I think for me, the biggest turn off to the Edge is that I heard that Sony did almost nothing to resolve the infamous drifting issues of the standard PS5 controller. Being unable to fix the (significant) drift of my current controller was the impetus for me to shop for an upgrade. From that I have heard, the Victus has some pretty good durability against drifting (I hope that is true). Also, I have heard that Hall Effect sticks are going to be released anytime now that can easily be swapped onto the highly customizable interface of the Victus, with no need to completely dissemble the controller or buy an entirely different model.
For anyone who plays xbox regularly on an elite controller this is probably the closest cintroller I've found to make it feel more seamless when switching to the PlayStation.
it feels smaller than a regular xbox controller, but has the same shape
the hall effect sticks for this controller are now on their website
Awesome!
I personally have an edge controller, it’s great ngl. But the battery life is so short, it’s not a problem for me since I play close to my monitor and ps5, but definitely consider the battery life
The edge worth it for stick drift?
@@aidanchristopherson9384 No, it isn't. The Edge will still get stick drift and you'll be paying $25 every few months to replace the stick modules. It's a f'n ripoff, don't do it.
Great review. Appreciate the honesty
I like how the paddles are built in, so they don't break in 15 minutes lmao
"When playing fighting games..." - shows Streets of Rage 4. LMAO
SOR4 is an honorary fighting game
The usb dongle would actually better and have less latency issues. That’s why high end headsets use a dongle instead of Bluetooth. Bluetooth is going to be a slower connection and have latency issues more often. Not trying to hate, but using the dongle over Bluetooth would be a plus for competitive players.
Fair enough, we just need more ports on the console for this to be a pro.
Would this work for the razor wolverine aswell? I notice latency issues when I’m using Bluetooth
I was about to comment the same thing too. Any wireless competitive gaming mouse or keyboard (oxymoron I know) will have a high speed dongle and only include Bluetooth for convenience sake, not competitive sake.
@@NomadFlair that's understandable. I think for the price they could have had both Bluetooth and a dongle. I just know if I was as competitive as I used to be back in black ops I would scoff at any Bluetooth controller trying to position themselves as competition worthy.
@@flous4146 if it has a dongle yes. It's more reliable and faster than Bluetooth. If it doesn't have one you're stuck with Bluetooth since it's not something you can add on.
Only thing I dont like about it is that it has no vibration feature
Another issue with the Victrix Pro BFG is the high input lag at 8ms which is very poor for a pro controller. Victrix has also locked out the ability to overclock/increase the polling rate which almost every other controller has. Bizarre choice to release a high input lag controller for competitive play
That’s great information man - thanks for sharing
This controller is strictly designed for competitive first person shooters I should know I helped build it great review btw :)
Fps need fightpads???
That's strange you say that. Considering the victricx is exclusively marketed towards the fighting game community.
Also. Victrix is also a company that started making fight sticks /arcade sticks. I doubt you were involved in production or design considering you are unaware who this is marketed towards.... that being said it can still be used for other games but not designed to do so.
Can you put both sticks at top instead of bottom?
@@QuickMadeUpName you can. :)
@@tommeesheppard7827 interesting thanks
Not having 4 paddles make the Edge a non-starter for me. Just ordered a Victrix after looking to make sure replacement stick modules are available.
Oh, and not having the mic, vibration, or adaptive triggers is a positive for me. I very much don't want those features to be active basically ever on my controller and turn them off on my regular dual senses
Brooo same here, seems like there’s few of us that actually don’t care about these features😂 after a few hours of watching reviews I settled for the victrix and bought it today cuz of the 4 paddles and the Xbox controller layout is more comfortable for me. I would’ve went with the dual sense edge but it has only those 2 paddles and it’s $40 more expensive but with those extra features. Imo it is not worth the 2 paddles compared to the 4 paddles on the victrix. Plus I’ve heard of stick drift only after a couple months and the paddles breaking after a few months because they’re magnetic on the dual edge
How are you liking it so far? Thinking of picking one up myself.
@@xkollx I returned it within a day because its buttons were too clicky for me, like the mic would pick it up and also it felt small and would start slipping. And also the trigger buttons felt lifeless cuz I’ve gotten so use to trigger haptics from ps5 controllers 😅 but the buttons were really good and in a good place on the back. But I’ve seen a lot of like 3 months reviews saying the joysticks have completely stopped responding and no parts to replace it… I’d get it but your gonna have no haptics, and the high risk of breaking because of the reviews and it honestly didn’t feel good holding, just felt like pure plastic. Plus there’s no vibration
@@xkollx and if your curious to what I think you should buy, I don’t think any controller out there is a good option considering all the reviews or just how the controller is designed. Like the Wolverine is expensive and the buttons on the back r literally out of normal reach so they’re useless. The edge only has two back pedals and is $200 plus a good amount of reviews claiming the pedals broke or stopped working properly after a few months because they are metal or magnetic. If one was on a huge discount, I would probly pick up the edge just because it has a lot of features and at least 2 pedals ig is enough for someone that isn’t really pro player. I work at Walmart so I got a 30% discount to use this month so I think I might just pick up the edge 🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@E-swaggzzz4What extra features do DS edge have? Remappable buttons? At triple the cost of a regular dual sense and smaller battery? Really?
What's your honest opinion of the longevity of the back paddles? I got the Naicon previously and those couldn't handle repeated pressing or pressure and one of them just snapped off, so I had to go back to a scuf paddle one.
The build is weak overall, the paddles aren’t too bad tbh
I just bought a victrix bfg and after testing it a few hours I can say this is not a controller you want to use for fighting games if you use the 6 button layout fighting pad. The problem with this controller is that the 6 button layout (fighting pad) is positioned on the lower right of the controller instead of the middle right. That means your right thumb needs to awkwardly move further to the left if you want to press the square or x buttons. My right hand was aching after 10 minutes gameplay because of the awkward button layout. The biggest problem though is that you can't map the R1 and R2 triggers to other buttons if you are using the 6 button layout. That means you have two R1 and R2 buttons, so the extra two buttons on the 6 button layout are just pointless. I really can't recommend the controller if you use the fighting pad.
Nice 👌
I've seen some people use it like that and do well with it but I agree the button placement was too awkward for me. Wish the buttons were all shifted more to the right
amazing review!!
I’ve had the edge for 5 months, my pet dropped it 3 times, I dropped it twice, on a carpet. It’s done, got the blue light of death or whatever, it’s pretty fragile to. Just picked up this Victrix, gonna be wrapping it in bubble wrap after each use lol
Edit: I returned the Victrix within 14hrs and got my money back. I have small hands, and the victrix was to small for me. Even though it has four paddles and my fingers were constantly in contact with all four at all times, it was just uncomfortable, everything about it was uncomfortable. Not worth it, in my opinion
So you rather get another edge ?
@@steven5096 yes, I’d settle for the edge.. if you got the money though I’d buy a 4 paddle scuff…but not a custom controller, scuff is known to fuck those up, just by a pre-made one if your gonna go with scuff. The edge is pretty dope though, clean and really easy to get used to
Bruh I got big ass hands and the victrix felt fine, more on the bigger side. That’s crazy to hear it felt small in your small hands🤣
Yeah Man I bought it today and am returning it tommorrow - I hate this thing omg - I went back to my ps4 to avoid using it - it is the most uncomfortable controller - like the astro controller or like any other similar designs. I'll get the dual sense edge when I return it. Then A Cronus Zen so I can just use my DS4 instead of DS5
@@whisper1776 yo let me know how the dual sense edge is plzzz, people been saying positive and negative things about so ig it’s a hit or miss. Also I also returned my controller 😂 I hated how clicks it was and didn’t like the non adaptive triggers cuz I’m so use to them from the regular ps5 controllers
1:01 It's just funny that Street Fighter is the only six button game in that list
Which controller do you think is best for 2D platformers/beatemups etc? I refuse to use an analogue stick for those games and the standard ps5 controller d-pad is absolutely horrendous.
I still use the edge
Can you change the stick of the left side of the controller? I'm pullong it up but it's not coming out, the one on the right side came out super quickly
Question I been playing cod since idk like 2006 and I been playing l1 r1 should I switch to rt lt? Since it adjust or l1 r1 is still the way ?
I use the same atm
I got this roller and it’s good and all but one thing that really made the price not worth is that it would not register my inputs like on Fortnite, I tried doing 90’s and the floor would never place and I don’t know how to fix it 😊
The DSE made my hand cramp up after 20-30 min. I sent it back if not for that I think it’s the best option because of the stick replacement although we shouldn’t need that when Sony can solve the problems themselves lol
i thought i was the only one who has experienced hand/wrist pain from holding the duelsense edge
I might get it... thanks... the white one is up for pre order
Thrustmaster Eswap S has way more precise thumsticks but it doesn't have 4 back buttons
If u change the moduailes before u turn on do u have to recalibrate
I search a Controller with Xbox Layout but many people say Its Bad
Is it possible to change the right joystick and make it higher?
Did u even watch the video lol
Will this work on Xbox with the chronus zen?
Anyone have problems pressing the paddles by accident in a shooter game. Thinking about picking this up. Thanks
Anyone thinking of getting the dualsense edge should know the sticks are just as bad as the base controller; they are only supposed to last for about 400 hrs of playtime. Thing is, despite the fact that you can technically replace them, you likely wont be able to because the stick modules are pretty much always out of stock.
Victrix, however, will be getting hall effect sticks this year, so drift will not be a problem really at all.
hall effect sticks out now on their website
Would the it be worth it for £138.99 vs £209 ? And i belive its sony thats stopping 3rd party companies putting vibration and mics in ect, razer doesnt have it too and thats £250
That’s a much better price - but for Warzone - I may just go for the edge. Anything else then the Victrix
@NomadFlair not going to lie I mostly play eafc and single player games, would I be better off spending 138 ? It's hard to tell without holding them, I have a rajiu sat in my draw, so mad at Sony for not allowing us to use ps4 controllers
disapointed features didn't list hall, yet another stick that will die or need replacement of thumbsticks. When are we going to see ps5 /xbox controllers with hall ?
I’m waiting for this so bad
Victrix is getting hall modules this year
@@voodude1074 thanks for the heads up
@@watchman1015
the hall effect sticks for this controller are now on their website
WIRED or USB cable better?
What if I can get the victix for $110? Would that make it worth it
do the analogs feel similar to ps5 controller?😊
I just ordered mine today
I just bought one for my PS5 since my default controller starting having bad drift issues. I set up the controller physically to better match a PS one. And to test it, I played Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodwars in practice mode. After programming the back buttons to match the triggers and bumpers, I ran around in the game. Went up to an npc and pressed square button to feed on him. Well immediately after feeding on him, my avatar shot him dead! I didn't push any trigger buttons. In the game, that results in a penalty for 30 seconds where all players can see you even through walls. If I was playing in LIVE mode, that would be a real bummer! So my question is: Did you experience that in games and how can it be prevented? I want to like this controller (since it cost so much lol) and I don't want to have to take it back to Amazon. ---UPDATE: I adjusted the triggers so they weren't quite at the minimal trigger squeeze mode, based on your tip. I think it helped. Haven't tried long term.
Should I worry about stick drift?
You can buy hall effect sticks as an upgrade for like $40.
best ps5 controller
Dope controller
This more of a pc controller it’s not really suited for ps5 in my opinion. It’s a decent controller
I'm here bc I bought a PS5 Edge Controller... Biggest waste of $200 I've ever spent. Still gets stuck drift, and I have to spend $25 every time I need to replace a stick. I'm f'n over it. Playstation is ripping customers off with these PS5 controllers. I get stick drift to the point they become unusable in about 3 to 6 months, every time. I've been through about 5 controllers, and sick of replacing sticks on the Edge. Give me something that won't take a shit. That's all I'm asking.
I’m releasing a video tomorrow on another pro controller - you can check that out if you want
@@NomadFlair I bought the Victrix and am honestly enjoying it. The triggers are super sensitive tho, but thats not a deal breaker.
Hi, can to play ps5 game?
Yes this is compatible with ps4 and Ps5
I pefer lightweight cntrl do gonna cop right now lol
2.4 wireless is much stable than bluetooth
After watching both videos i think im betting on the Edge
I agree bro!
I am going to be honest I got this controller and was super excited - I literally cannot stand using it - it's terrible and uncomfortable
Prob best fortnite controller out there, the only problem with these pro ps5 controllers, is that if u dont use the backpaddles for crouching (or not using r3 or l3) ur gonna get stickdrift pretty rapidly😂 Sony are so greedy, insted of making hall effect controllers, getting more buyers than ever, and the best console company by far, they want to sell us 20$ joysticks every third month😂
I got it
Nice one
I was on the fence about buying this or the DS edge. If the build quality feels so poor id rather go with the edge and not feel like i just bought a mcdonalds toy. Low Battery life w/ a 9 ft lockable cable aint that bad.
It doesn’t feel poor quality like a McDonald’s toy, I feel this guy was just bashing it cuz he feels biased towards the DS edge. Plus it’s got 2 extra paddles going for it. It’s just light weight and I think he was just misunderstanding that for poor build quality
Not a fan this and the scuf feels cheap and poorly built
What about the DualSense edge?
DSE just seems a lot better, I heard that the victrix was selling for 60-70 a couple months ago before it got popular
This controller was never $70 lol
@@NitroCigarette it was… why would I lie about that. On Amazon first release it was 60-70.
@farhan70 man is on something this controller never sold for 70 dollars lol you must have been seeing another controller from the company or something
@@jimmy564321 it was it was £70 which is like $85, why the fuck would I lie about that 😂😭
@@farhan70 No, it was never $70. I know this to be 100% true because when it was announced I highly considered buying it because I love Victrix's fight sticks but ultimately chose not to because of the price and no replacement parts made available.
Just got this controller solely for fighting games today !And wow it’s accurate!! Even better you can choose the depth of the trigger pull so I’m able to barely push down and get a good response! Easy to button map too , good grip and love the options to configure to your play style.. if you’re into fighting games and play ranked- this is great cuz no rumble , accurate d pads and inputs - coming from ps5 dual sense- my fingers hurt after hours of dialing inputs . This seems a lot less harsh on the thumbs making it just more fun to play for longer periods of time.. Great review!📺🫡👑💯🏆
Hi, can you map 2 button together (like X and O) on one back button?
No, only one. Thanks
@@NomadFlair then this pad is useless, there are better solutions
@tonybucks5709 Why would you ever map two buttons to one back button?
@@LUTTILYStreet fighter tekken King of fighters i think
Dont buy it, it breaks down really fast
Yep 👍
