My experience: when I used Etsy ads with low cost, around $25, I had almost no sales. When I put budget for my Etsy ads up to $500, I had great success with sales. However, the revenue compare to Etsy fees and ads cost, put me -$1200, even though I had 5 sales daily. Even though I tried to limit ads only to listing, which sale. So, yes, disappointing. Looking to try 4th Qtr, if the same, close the shop. For new sellers it is struggle, no with sales, but Etsy fees and ads costs.😊
This means Etsy makes money with the Ads and with your Selling fees? Its will be much better to pay a monthly fees like in another platforms but you can stress-free selling.
1:1 ratio is what I personally use. Ideally, 2500 by 2500 pixels I start with on all of my photocards and I'll adjust to lower quality JPEG if the photocards are above 2MB. Etsy does accept other ratios for photocards, I just prefer the 1:1.
Do you happen to know what happens with an old unused (for a few years) shop? I sold masks during pandemic then didn’t pivot and let shop die. Can it be resuscitated or should I opt for new (which potentially comes with a temp bot shutdown)?
I had a shop that I opened in 2017 and stopped using a few years back and decided to list back again recently and it’s seemed like everything worked smooth and I had a few sales already. They did reserve my funds for 90 days again since it had been so long since I used my shop.

I prefer offering a return and exchange policy, having one also increases conversion rates. I think it's good to offer one for at minimum of 14 days past delivery. Thanks for watching!❤
For POD there’s really no point unless you’re on a cruise with no wifi. Lol I can handle pretty much everything from my phone. Handmade stuff I imagine would be difficult to do that.
