- Jeff interviewed a number actors who had roles in the classic 1990 movie "Back to the Future III" during the "Back to 1885" event held in Columbia State Historic Park.
Colt .45 salesman actor Burton Gilliam speaks to Jeff about his start in acting, how he was picked for the film, his opinion of Michael J. Fox (Marty McFly) and Tom Wilson (who played Biff and Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen).
He also speaks to Marvin J. McIntyre who played the undertaker in the film and Bobby Bennett, Fox's double for the film.

I absolutely loved this video! I loved the conversation between you and Burton! Just you and him chewing the fat. He’s so happy telling you about the movies he’s been in, directors he worked with and the actors. He’s just freely telling you all these tid bits. I have been fortunate to meet many celebrities in my lifetime. The impromptu chats are so memorable. I have loved Michael J Fox since he started out. He is so brave fighting this disease! Not afraid to show the public the progression of the disease. Jeff, thank you for this awesome video and the wonderful chats. Such a great fundraiser for Michael’s foundation! Hope you and Sarah have a wonderful week!
I'm going to pin this comment to the top because I liked it so much! Thanks so much! I really enjoyed my interactions with all the players that I spoke to here! Great bunch of people all the way around! God bless Michael J. Fox, too! Have a wonderful week!
Burton Gilliam made this video! I loved the rest, but the Blazing Saddles actor was a GREAT surprise. Like the fan who travelled from California, I would have travelled far to see this if I could have. Love the BTTF series. Only wish they'd gotten one of the main cast - especially Fox, since his foundation benefits
Yeah I wish some bigger players were there, especially Christopher Lloyd and Mary Steenburgen. I understand why Michael couldn’t be there!
He still seems pretty sharp for 85
What a great, fun episode! Enjoyed every minute. Felt like I was there too.
Perfect! Thanks!
This was a treat Jeff!
Again, it was great to meet you last week at Railtown 1897.
Rest assured, the number 3 locomotive will ride again. It is getting its 15 year boiler inspection, and new boiler tubes.
I appreciated getting to meet you in Jamestown! I think I was a bit shocked to see Engine 3 gutted for repairs. I was hoping it would be in action for the weekend but it was not to be this time. Maybe in the future! Keep me apprised of the Craig Breedlove vehicle!

Will do.👌
this was one of my favorit places to go when I lived in Cali.
Thank you Jeff for taking us to Columbia, California. It is a quaint old town from the middle of the 1800s. It reminds me of Old Town Auburn, California. All these towns participated in the Gold Rush. I remember the Back to the Future movies but since Michael J. Fox came down with Parkinson's disease, I feel bad about it since my Grandfather passed away from the disease.
I've been laid up recovering from bleeding because I take Warfarin and I had a vein open up so I am catching up while resting in bed. Please give my very best regards to Sarah and your son.
This is soooo coool, would have loved to be there. I love Back to the future triology ... 👌👌👌👍👍👍 Awesome video too ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks so much!
Thanks for revisiting back to the future again Jeff I remember your first video about it
Hope you enjoyed it! Thanks!
My wife is friends with Chris Darga who was a klingon in Star Trek, a viking in Capitol One commercials and several other commercials, like Aflac, he was the baker in The Mask and played parts in Seinfeld and Criminal Minds and many other roles in film. He’s a very, very accomplished artistic painter and sculptor and has an awesome sense of humor. This is a great video Jeff! Thanks!
It’s always fun being around celebrities!
This is one of your BEST VIDEOS EVER Jeff. And what a tribute to Michael J Fox & cast. Thanks Jeff for the memories.👍👍👍👍👍🤠🇺🇸
I really love the comment, sir! With much appreciation, Jeff
My family made it on History Hunters! In the background of 13:51 😁So bummed I didn’t recognize you while there that day! My son kept telling people about the show History Hunters we watch since he recognized the areas you’ve been to from previous videos. Another great video Jeff!
Oh darn! Sorry we missed an encounter! I guess there was too many people to spot me. I did get recognized by about 10 folks who stopped to say hi. Sometimes I get stopped walking down the street or in the grocery store! Lol. Thanks so much for being fans of History Hunters!
Home run Jeff! Great video! We're huge fans of all the Back to the Future movies. This was FANTASTIC!
Awesome! Thank you! What was your favorite part?
The reenactments and the characters, also the interviews you did with the actors, heck Jeff - I liked it all! @@jbenziggy
Man thank you for recording this celebration! Bttf is my favourite trilogy and I love all the people you talked to in this video! Specially the cold 45 guy ! He seems so nice and I loved his delivery in that scene!!! And the Buford Tanner impersonator was great too! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! It was so much fun to be a part of! Loved talking to Burton on and off camera. Such a wonderful man!
It’s funny that you posted this video today. Back in May I spent a weekend with my brother and his wife in Columbia for their Columbia Diggins Tent Town 1852. We stayed at the City Hotel. I had a funny run in with the gentleman dressed as the sheriff that you talked to. Last night I turned over to INSP and Rage At Dawn was coming on. The opening scene I recognized the Wells Fargo building and the shops across the street. Thanks for doing this I will pass it on to my brother.
I trained the volunteers for Diggins
@@idiotglee if you know Steve Gay and his wife. He’s my brother and they were involved in it.
Wow! Two of my favorites! I have not seen Columbia since 2016. And the festival of Back to the Future! Wow! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it, Nichole!
Great interviews w the cast of characters. Very fun to watch. My late brother had property above Columbia and visited often in the 70's. Town looks even better now.
I appreciate you watching! Thank you!
Wow ❕ that was fun and most entertaining 😁 Great episode and interviews with the actors and photographer. It's the next best thing to being there! 👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it, Wilma!
Such a joy to see on a Sunday Morning!
Sweet! See you next Sunday on History Hunters!
Thank you for doing the Movie Trains. Engine #3 is my favorite and it started with climbing on the locomotive in Beard Brook park.
I crawled around on that train too way back in the 1970s!
I'm going to put off watching this until tonight. I'm going to need to kick back with some popcorn and Red Vines.
Thanks for the post, I'm sure it's going to be entertaining and informative.
Take care and be well. 😊
Please do! I think it’s a good one!
LOVED this HH vid!!! FANTASTIC fix for the week! GR8 job Jeff and so much fun I'm sure!!! And to get to meet the actual actors!!!! So cool!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! It was so much fun! I had an absolute blast talking to the folks there and goofing around with the undertaker and Mad Dog Tannen!! The icing on the cake were the interviews with Burton Gilliam, Marvin J. McIntyre, Bobby Bennett and the cinematographer Dean Cundey!
OMG!!!!! This is the best video that I have watch on your channel. The interactions with the celebrities the info that you talk about but the way you had fun doing it. Jeff, this was a VERY funny and lighthearted video. Thank you for doing it.
Wow, thank you! It was as fun to be there as it looks in my video!
This was a fun video & seeing some of the actors !
Lots of fun !
I really enjoyed the day up there! So much fun!
What an absolutely wonderful fun video Jeff, well done! When I noticed earlier in the week it was one of your longest at 41 minutes, I had to wait until I had the time to watch in one go. So glad I did. Such a fun way to end my Wednesday. Thank you sir!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much, Wayne! Your message is always very supportive and I always appreciate your input! You seem like a great guy!
This was AWESOME to see!! Thank you for doing this ❤
Looks like a fun day you had there love Back to the Future and Blazing Saddles. Really enjoyed this episode Jeff, thank you.

wow…. That was so cool! Well done Jeff. And it was great watching you having a great time.
Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate your comments, Robert!
Awesome video, Jeff! Great to see the two actors that played the gun salesman and the mortician.
Loved this one. I went to Columbia grammer School, you pass it as you come into town. I went to Sonora High School. I live in Atwater now, but I still have family and friends there. It's always fun to see home!!
If I had my choice between Sonora or Atwater I’d pick Sonora! 😜
Great video....and longer too.....loved how you managed to talk to so many members of cast...and have a laugh as well...can't wait for next one
Glad you enjoyed it! I really appreciated being able to interact with the players from the film! Highlight of my month!
Thank you for another great history lesson.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was great. Very colorful characters. Including yourself,Jeff.
Thanx.
Great episode! I enjoyed it totally. Great you got to interview all those characters. Thanks.❤
The event was wonderful and I had a great time and getting to speak to the players in the film was really over the top for me. I really enjoyed doing this video for you all.

Cheers 🍻. Watching. Look forward to this episode, the Back to the Future series is one of my all-time favorites..
You did a nice job of capturing the spirit of the event and now that I have seen myself in your video I know for sure that I was there.
I know you really had fun with this one.............fantastic! I loved this!
I did! It was total fun for hours! I especially loved interviewing for four players from the movie. I went in not knowing what I was going to encounter, but I was very pleased at my opportunities that day! Thank you so much for watching out for the comment!
Loved this vlog Jeff. As a HUGE fan of the Back to the future movies I really enjoyed watching this. I hope Michael j Fox was able to see this or know about it.
I had a feeling those photos from a couple of days ago were leading into something fun! Glad to see so many History Hunter fans!
I’m a big fan Back to the Future! I saw the 1st on at the drive in (which is no longer there) This looked like a great time!
I had an absolute blast talking to the folks there and goofing around with the undertaker and Mad Dog Tannen!! The icing on the cake were the interviews with Burton Gilliam, Marvin J. McIntyre, Bobby Bennett and the cinematographer Dean Cundey!
The best ever episode Jeff!
Wow! I truly appreciate the fantastic response, Michael! Have a great weekend!
Great nostalgic video. I love hearing from the supporting actors and Dean Cundey and getting more insight in the film. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
My wife and I enjoyed the video and we both love all three of the Back To The Future movies
They are among my favorite movies! Glad that you liked my experience there!
That event looked like so much fun!! What a great effort everyone went to to make it a success. Beauford especially nailed it! So impressive! Fantastic upload, Jeff!
Thanks so much!! Yep the guy playing Buford was spot on. He said it was his first time doing him too! Talented dude!
Holy smokes Jeff this was such a funny video! Very much appreciated. I love Columbia State Historic Park
Fantastic! I know I will carry memories of this event until the rest of my life! It was fun and I thank you for being a part of it on video!
Thanks for sharing your experience at Columbia State Park.
Thanks for watching! It was certainly a very fun event to attend and I am glad that you enjoyed watching!
Hi! This is such an awesome video!! Loved Back To The Future 3. It is one of my favorites too. It looks like you had a blast!!! Very, very cool! Love the actors you were able to meet too!!
Thanks so much!! It was a total blast of fun!
Wow, this storyline was not expected. Very well done. Great casual interaction and interviews with the actors.
I'm going to be visiting Columbia tomorrow 9/20.... sorry I missed this event but I appreciate you doing this video... thanks
Have fun on your visit! You will probably be able to figure out where all the events took place from our video! Enjoy!
What a great time you had there. It was awesome some of the people knew you. I take it you got at least the one autograph. This was fun to watch.
Yes, I was offered a signed photo by Burton and I have the signed cloth tape measure from Marvin J. McIntyre!
Loved it! Big fan, thanks alot for sharing.
Our pleasure! Thank you so much for enjoying this experience that I had last weekend! It was a very fun event to attend as you could probably tell.
Wow love the wagon and the autos of yesteryear , wish I rode in one thinking put loud maybe some day ❤ thanks for sharing Jeff
Thanks for watching! The stage coach always runs in Columbia, Andrea, so maybe you can get up for a fun visit!
Love these longer videos! :)
Maybe because I was younger when I watched the movie….I never realized the actor for George McFly was different! I think I may have assumed they just used footage from the original movie. Quite amazing!
I didn’t know the switch either until I researched Jeffrey Weissman! Thanks so much for the nice comment!
Thanks again for sharing Jeff
My pleasure!! so glad that you watched and I hope that you enjoyed this one
That was fun. Thank you!
"Hey boys! How bout a song? Camptown ladies sing this song........."
I'm glad he's still around.
Great episode! visited there several times.
Loved seeing the undertaker!!
Loved your questions Jeff!!
He was definitely a kick, that’s for sure!
Memories, and to a brighter future y'all!
Yes, thank you! May life be sweet and enjoyable for you!
Hey, that's me at 29:00 at the shooting gallery! SUCH a cool event!
You were pretending to shoot right? Lol. I didn’t see any projectiles flying. Lol
@@jbenziggy that's right. My gun was just a replica and didn't have any projectiles.
Looks like you had a lot of fun. Great video. Nancy
It was a total blast. In the 1980s and 1990s they used to have a film festival up in Columbia and Jamestown and all kinds of celebrities would be there to sign autographs. Unfortunately they are all passed away and I’m talking about people like Ben Johnson, Dale Robertson, Harry Carey Jr., Denver, Pyle, Iron Eyes Cody, George Montgomery, Buck Taylor, and many others. This event totally reminded me of those great times.
Love Back to the future. Great video
Fun stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Our pleasure! It was fun to be there so I hope it was fun watching!
Yes i am a huge fan of all the Back to the Future movies 🎬 ❤️
Great to hear! Hope you liked my video!
Great longer video that I really liked.
Good to hear!
Good people good cause awesome to see actors and love to see other people enjoy history hunters content
Thank you!
Great episode! Nice to be recognized by the characters in the film. Everyone seemed to be enjoying you. Interesting people to be so dedicated to the film and of course MJF. I hope they raised lots of money for the cause.
Did you have any sarsaparilla? I remember getting it at eight and again years later with my spouse.
I appreciate the really nice remarks! It was such a fun event, one I will long remember! As far as sarsaparilla goes, nope, didn’t have any on this trip! Too busy shooting video! Lol
Very cool thanks for sharing!
You bet! Thanks for watching!
I'll have to look for this event next time they do it...looks like fun.
I'm a fan of all three movies and always will be
They are great, aren’t they?
Loved this coverage and Paper Moon is one of my favorites! How many autographs did you come away with??
Only two! Marvin let me keep the signed cloth measuring tape which he signed. And Burton pulled out a photo which he signed for me!
What a great video and event. I have loved the BTTF movies since watching BTTF 1 in the theatre in 1985. Wouldn't it be great if the BTTF 3 Time-Train could be built full size and made to run on the rails 🚂
Great episode, thank you. I think the 1885 movie was my favorite of the three.
Mine too! Number 2 was my least favorite!
great video LOVE THIS MOVIE
This movie in the series is my favorite!---As soon as I heard you say "parade" I started to get an anxiety attack, until my subconscious realized there were no bands, & by the time of the gunfight, I was relaxed & truly enjoying this encounter! (I was in the band for many, many years, & over time, I was watching the lines in the bands that passed me by on the sidelines, & I would get all choked up, in public, at how good everyone was looking. I can't even watch the Rose Bowl parade...sad.)
I’m glad that you gave this video a chance to prove itself. What is it about bands that give you anxiety?
@@jbenziggy Feeling like proud Momma when all those youngster were marching in step, playing so well. Look at those lines, verticals, AND those diagonals. I want to bawl like a baby. I haven't been able to control the emotions for a lot of years. I graduated in 1969 with so many wonderful memories of half-time shows, parades, even an East-West Game in SF one year.
'Fandango '...one of my favorite films...
Is this an annual event? Never heard of it. Great episode as always Jeff, looks like you had a good time.
It could be a reoccurring event or every other year. They do have a website that might tell you. Just Google Back to 1885. Glad you watched my video!
Back to the Future Love movie DVD 📀 my favorite one fan Big Bet Cast 💖💖💖💖💖💖⭐️🎶
I also believe they are very humorous and entertaining films. They also get you thinking about the concept of time travel, which to me is still an impossibility and forever will be.
Such amazing FUN❣️
That was cool! Wish I was there.
I haven't been up to Columbia in a couple of decades. I should plan a drive up there.
I ❤ Columbia
Awesome
Best video ever!!!⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟
Wow, thanks! You flatter me!
Great video
Thanks for the visit!
Great episode, LOVE movie and TV episodes, but where is Sarah? We miss her.
Sarah will appear in some videos I am working on! It's nice to hear you say that you miss her!
Thanks!
Thank you so very much for your generosity! It’s much appreciated!
Hangin’ out with the Undertaker!! ⚰️
Very cool!
I love your videos can you talk about or do a video on Leslie coffelt who protected the president of United States at the Blair House that was my great uncle
Did you see this years ago where I mentioned him?
ua-cam.com/video/rT75JQpCUqU/v-deo.htmlsi=p-8QTioM2-pooJ1d
dang wish i would have been there
Wow, that reinactment was cool
god how I miss the 80s life was so much easier back then now old age is creeping up on me and life is so boring now 😑😩
Very nice.
Thank you!!
Maybe I didn't catch it, who played Doc at this event. Was it the stunt double as well?
Some of the main cast attending might have attracted a bigger crowd and more money for the charity 🤷🏼♀️
Is this an annual event? I live in Virginia, and my wife and I love the Back to the Future movies, and her father was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's.
I believe they have this event every so many years so I am not sure if it's annual. They do have a website and Facebook page so just search for Back to 1885. Sorry to hear about your father-in-law's diagnosis. I hate these diseases and you can lump dementia and cancer into the group. Blessings to you and your family. PS Are you a history teacher (judging by your UA-cam channel handle)?
Ha. MARVIN ..... HELLO. FANDANGO.... NO WAY.... I FORGOT. THE UNDERTAKER.... SO AWESOME... GLAD YOUR WELL .
He was quite a character when he interacted with me, and I really appreciated his sense of humor!
It’s a bummer they’ve decided to retire this event. I hope they bring it back for 2025!
There's a strong desire in the community, even among some of the actors, to keep this tradition alive. Some things are currently in the works for 2024.
@@bytes311 good to hear!
I feel awful as I have never seen a Back to the Future movie…I will rectify that now after seeing your great film…By the way I live about 8 miles away from the old Delorean car factory at Dunmurry/Belfast.
I think you will like the trilogy. I recommend starting out with the first one to become acquainted with the characters and the concept before watching the other two. I consider the last film, the western, to be my favorite!
@@jbenziggy Thanks Jeff I will give it a go…
Can anyone tell me why Glover refused to take part in Back to the future part two and three..?
According to the story, Crispin Glover requested one-fifth of what Michael J. Fox was earning for the sequels. Instead of agreeing, the producers hired another actor and used Glover's likeness in parts 2 and 3 without compensating him. Glover sued the producers for using his likeness without permission and won.
@@bytes311 That's what it was was it..! Thanks
