    1.Clean your filters with filter cleaner every 3 to 4 weeks.
    2.Balance the water PH/ALK
    3.Adjust Calcium Hardness
    4.Shock the tub with 1 Tbsp of Chlorine Concentrate (99% Di-Chlor)
    once a week or one Tbsp after heavy use.
    5.Use MPS non chlorine oxidizer 1Tbsp after every use of the Hot Tub.
    6.Change water every 4 to 6 months

      Why would the TDS be at 1500 in 3 to 4 weeks and need a water change? Do you have hard water? If so, use a calcium pillow to remove the minerals with your fresh fill. No reason to drain any spa that often.

    I change the filter after each time the Spa is used.
    Another tip is to drop a couple of Tennis Balls into the Spa. Its an easy way to remove the surface film.
    Chuck your filters and Tennis Balls in the washing machine and re-use.

    Hello there, I have the st moritz lazyspa, my chem connect chlorine adapter plugs on the side and I have to run the bubbles for 30 mins for filtration, when it's doing this is it safe to put the foam remover in? Cause on the leaflet for the bottles for the ph reducers it says to not mix chemicals 🤷‍♂️ dunno if that means just while your mixing them in a measuring jug or in the lazyspa itself

      That got me thinking☺ you should be able to do it, but will need to screw end caps on the inside of the tub intake and outputs. I think the water will drain out without end caps, but another idea could be to run longer pipes to the pump so you can put it somewhere either out of sight or locked. I use Bromine instead of chlorine, it’s better for hot water and doesn’t irritate your skin and eyes as much. You also don’t use as much bromine as you do chlorine. I have a pool company near me and they gave me a test bottle to put water in. They told me when I get my hot tub (it’s coming today) to fill it up and bring the bottle of water in and they will tell me what chemicals I need and more importantly, how much. This way I won’t buy stuff I don’t need.

    Great video. Have you had any issues with E02 error? We have had our spa a week now, Palm Springs model, and when we start the bubbles the E02 error comes on. We have been keeping up with chlorine daily and cleaning the filters. We tried troubleshooting from Bestway but a bit of a waste of time as made no difference. What we did notice was that if we run it without the filter but keep the housing on the error occurs but if we remove the housing it doesn’t. Could removing the rubber flaps help? When you look at the water flow in and out there’s a lot of air intake with bubbles on and the housing but that stops when the housing is removed and the pipes are full of water rather than with gulps of air. Any advice greatly appreciated.

    • @fiveminuteman
      @fiveminuteman  4 роки тому +1

      E02 is water level or in your case air is entering the intake pipe before going through the pump. Are all filter water pipe fittings secure on the egg pump? Did you use the rubber washers as well on the fittings? The only other thing is a faulty egg unit, but that's unlikely as you can see excess small bubbles.

    • @stuartdyas7782
      @stuartdyas7782 4 роки тому +1

      5 Minute Man all connections are secure. We have a replacement egg coming this week under warranty so fingers crossed. The flow is fine until we put the filter housing on which is why I wondered if the rubber was preventing enough water to flow in when the bubbles are on. Anyway thanks for the response.

    • @fiveminuteman
      @fiveminuteman  5 років тому +1

      I found adding granules a real pain so thats why i switched to tablets. I didnt worry too much about acidity/alkalinity after switching. Clearwater describe the tablets as following "Clearwater 1 Kilogram Multifunction Mini Tablets are an incredibly simple way to maintain clear and hygienic hot tub water. The Multifunction Mini Tablets treat your spa water in a number of ways. As well as containing chlorine, which kills bacteria and other bacteria, by disinfecting water, the tablets also contain an algaecide solution. Many hot tub owners only use algaecide when algae has invaded their hot tub but water treatment tablets are a fantastic way to defeat algae before it has become visible to the eye. Another benefit of the Clearwater Multifunction Mini Tablets is that they contain a water clarifier. Some debris and particles that find their way into water, such as dead skin and algae, are too small to be trapped by the hot tubs filter system."👍😉

      You'll probably need to shock treat the water to clear it. This kills any organic growth and breaks it down. I've been reading up on it as we got our spa a few weeks ago and needs doing. Some places say do it weekly, some say every 2-3 week, it saves changing the water every week or so. It's done with chlorine or a non-chlorine treatment. The chlorine shock is done by adding chlorine so it's 20ppm, (please check this though) then waiting for it to return to normal levels. (which could take a few days) Using the non-chlorine treatment method means the spa can be used again a lot sooner. I've just done mine for the first time tonight so should be crystal clear in the morning. I used the non-chlorine method as this is quicker.
      This link will tell you more.
      www.lay-z-spa.co.uk/blog/how-to-shock-dose-your-spa/
      I just noticed the chlorine dose shown on their charts is for their chemicals, check your bottle for shock dosage.

    Great video - thanks for sharing the routine with us. Am I correct in assuming the filtration pump stays on and connected continuously regardless of use, and the heater is switched on before you use the spa to bring it up to temperature and the bubble jets are obviously only on when you're actually sitting within the spa?

    • @fiveminuteman
      @fiveminuteman  5 років тому +1

      I managed to just run the filtration pump during the day so off at night, but this depends if you are using it in th evening or not. Depending on where you live the heater can take time to bring water temp up to 25-30c so this can take a couple of hours. Bubbles are basically on demand. It's a great bit of kit and soon I will have mine out again. Get the floor tiles so you have some insulation and also keep the cover on when not in use.

      So in the UK look to about £50 per month extra on your electricity bill. Make sure you have foam tiles underneath and at night always put the cover on with an additional bubble wrap type cover over top of water. Temperature drops are normal depending on ambient temperature outside this can vary.
