Lssj100 Same. I was bummed when they didn't bring back Campbell after Underground 1 & Muska after Underground 2. Least we had Stevie Williams in Wasteland and the others before Skate killed the series, then vanished
Kareem rules! He really is a street hustling/skateboarder. He is very professional when running his company's, and is a positive role model to young kids, but doesn't promote his street smarts and thug up bringing, he is positive to the future. Same with Fabien Alomar, those dudes are street hustling thugs at heart. He's always been one of my favorites. Has never changed in 20 years
I remember being 7 years old and watching this. He snapped a board at a skatepark that they had opened up and he gave his board to me. Kareem, I’m black and white and the area im from, they used to say black people don’t belong on a skateboard so from the bottom of my heart I wanna thank you. I looked up to you and still tell this day I look up to you man. Thank you kareem
Skateboarding has evolved. You sound like one of them old ass people stuck in the past that bitch about music too. they be like " 90s music was the best " like shut yo close minded ass up, shit changes
true, i feel like people skate, but they dont skate, tey skate because of status, but when push comes to shove they arent doing work to get better, they just do basic shit and hype that up so they dont have to put forth effort and then they can just smoke weed follow trends and drink, ever see those stupid fucking hipster niggas on instagram that have dyed cheeto hair and shit with fucking digi pink camo and clown shoes slo moing popping out of a 3 inch nose grind? thats that type of shit i hate, its like fucking frat boys that skate
Ken Kaniff You mean the weird hipster look of it? Ya I agree, skaters nowadays look like the posers they clowned for years. Kareem Campbell, Chad Muska, and Stevie Williams gave skating a hip hop/rap flavor.
Destrie Go fuck yourself. Skaters when I was growing up in the late 90's to the late 00's would beat your ass. Skaters nowadays look n act like the nerds from Big Bang Theory, Sorry but looking like your mommy dresses you was and never will be cool
I think it's in Norway.. someone told me they have a single word that means "longing to return to an idealized version of the past which never really existed"
Kareem was the dude back then, it sucks that City Stars went under. Kareem basically brought P-Rod & Mikey Taylor into the skateboard spotlight with Street Cinema.
the young guys will appreciate this. Prod when he was 15yrs old. i talked to a kid the other day who didnt know who kerry getz was!!! crazy, but you young guys keep it going. amen to the new generation of shred.
Back when the economy was doing well. Bet none of these individuals have empty cases like they used to. Because In my line of work I sure damn know well I have seen the decline. Didn't even know Kareem was from L.A. Muska with that old hippie style. Salaamu !!
I was blown away when I was a kid that Kareem was a little Dogtown/Venice kid and the big kids we're JulianStranger & Natas and co.. Those connections are interesting.. I made it to 1:44 Kareem.. thanks for memories homie..
@rpe11 Not really, its just a website now, last 411 was about 2004/5 and last vid was 2008 I think? Think OnVideo was supposed to replace it or something but that was also scrapped I think.
oh word? I didnt know that city stars is back. i heard that axion was back but i wasn't sure i he was still running it. I guess that answers my question. but damn how i miss these days of skating. who remembers Shortys Fulfill the dream!?
Muska looks like a cross between Hulk Hogan and david Lee Roth. Looking sporty Bro. You fn goofball! Your moms pearl white Escalade looks sick. Thanks for the laugh. Damn I needed that :)
The collection-we gonna shine, it shows all the song names at the beginning of the video, but good luck trying to find them, im pretty sure you can only find them if you somehow get a copy of the street cinema soundtrack
yeah they did have a good team. i wonder what most of them are doing nowadays. is Brandon Turner and Peter Smolik still in Sk8mafia? I dont see them in videos as much. But damn, those were the good ol days
Spitter Griffin that’s dope bro I remember being too hard headed to ask any of the pros for an autograph back then. I was that Butter little kid that wanted to be better then them not like them.
yeah had a couple of their decks from the first run of boards that came out in 09, their alright. and Axion is coming out with soem good shit, I actually have the KCK remakes. I remeber that movie, its a damn shame they dont make boards, they had a great team too.
yeah you're right. i started early 2000's. a couple of my favorite videos were Birdhouse The End (which everyone in the video killed it!!!), Shortys Fulfill The Dream and Guilty, Rodney vs Daewon 1 and 2, and Es Menikmati! back then it was just skating and hammers! now its more like trend skating and fashion. u know what i mean? like they point out tricks to make it popular. like front foot catch tres, or 3 shuvs, blah blah.
city stars is back, their filming for street cinema 2, and reems been filming here and there, theres some recent clips of him, axion is back too, but kareem isnt running it
Kareem was my favorite skater back then. But I noticed he didn't show much skateboarding when stuff like this. More talking and being flashy. I didn't notice it at the time because he was my favorite skater.

Back then you hit up the streets with your crew
"you don't have fun, then it ain't worth it" well said Kareem.
The funniest thing is, that when I played Pro Skater 3 all the time, Chad and Kareem were pretty much the ONLY characters I used.
Lssj100 Same. I was bummed when they didn't bring back Campbell after Underground 1 & Muska after Underground 2. Least we had Stevie Williams in Wasteland and the others before Skate killed the series, then vanished

Bro! Look how young Paul Rodriguez is! Holy shit. This reminds me of my childhood in the 90s. I think I'm the same age as Paul.
He single handed ruined many of our dreams 😂...thinking at 15 I can make it pro, comes a kid making gnarly shit switch... one of the best
Kareem rules! He really is a street hustling/skateboarder. i miss this era of skateboarding, probably just because it's what i grew up with but still, it feels better than all the whack shit going on today
Skateboarding has evolved. You sound like one of them old ass people stuck in the past that bitch about music too. they be like " 90s music was the best " like shut yo close minded ass up, shit changes
I know what you mean, these days are pure whackness compared to the 90s
true, i feel like people skate, but they dont skate, tey skate because of status, but when push comes to shove they arent doing work to get better, they just do basic shit and hype that up so they dont have to put forth effort and then they can just smoke weed follow trends and drink, ever see those stupid fucking hipster niggas on instagram that have dyed cheeto hair and shit with fucking digi pink camo and clown shoes slo moing popping out of a 3 inch nose grind? thats that type of shit i hate, its like fucking frat boys that skate

For some reason watching old skate videos always makes me sad in a way. Good times I guess.
I feel every bit of that.

Back when the economy was doing well. Bet none of these individuals have empty cases like they used to. Because In my line of work I sure damn know well I have seen the decline. Didn't even know Kareem was from L.A. Muska with that old hippie style. Salaamu !!

People werent obessed on style, or steezyness, it was really on how much footy and what tricks their were doing, everyone would skate spots 20 deep, now everyone skates their "training faculity" they have. this is before street leauge, dew tour, maloof etc was around it was jsut tampa am, slam city and xgames. Back then you hit up the streets with your crew
