As a Christian, I had always been fond of using my voice for the glory of Jesus Christ even though I am not a gospel artist. It was mid 2000s and i had just come back from University. I was hungry and eager to produce for someone else who wasnt me. This song was recorded in myy bedroom in my parents house & i remember the computer was in pieces.
The motherboard sat outside the casing, the harddrives were on my bed headboard and the soundcard was on the chest of drawers. My older brother Delani was kind enough to lend me his studio microphone which i brought down with me from South Africa. Geez....I had to hustle to buy a phantom power box so that it could power up the microphone. I didnt even have a keyboard to play the piano ad produce with. I used the programs Reason, FL Studio & Cubase to create this song and his album.
Despite all these challenges, we were able to produce this timeless gem of a song. That clock we we sitting in front of was the clock that used to be in central Harare on top of the food outlet called Sammy's (cnr 1st & Nelson) opp OK. My dad was an antique collector so he bought this Big Ben clock and it was at home in Mt. Pleasant. We organized to shoot the video on a shoestring budget with Tau and oddly, my mum was like "your little brother MUST appear in your video..Lol....my little brother Anele is the one riding the bike in the video. The white Corolla belonged to a very good friend of mine Brian Madamombe & thats what we used to play the music from.
These are all memories that i can share with you as i still breathe....Thank you Tau Nzira for being a part of my journey...thank you to you guys for making this song SUPER GREAT....Enjoy...Ayeye!!
