If I had a painting I thought was a genuine Monet worth 2.5 million dollars I certainly wouldn't be looking to sell it to a pawn shop, I would sell it through a fine art auction house. That should have been a huge red flag.
Even I can see that it was not a Monnet. There are art students who do “in the style of” much better than that. The guy went to a pawn shop to try to get $300 or $5000 out of it.
@@trorisk
You're a big expert huh?
@@imadbasayev8541
Not an expert at all but I am a fairly enlightened art lover. On average, I go to an art museum (modern, contemporary, classic, etc.) between 2 and 3 times a month.
Seriously right? Even things that live under rocks know a painting like that needs to go to Sotheby's or somewhere similar. Having it show up at a pawn shop smells like staged bullshit to me.
@@imadbasayev8541 My answer was deleted... I am not an expert but an enlightened amateur.
“If it’s real are you gonna shut up??”
“Probably not”
Haha gotta love the old man
R.I.P The Old Man 😢
I laughed a little too hard I need my coffee
5:02 News Flash: Nobody sells Monets at pawn shops.
Well, obviously not nobody.

Or do they!?
Dude really thought a 100 year old newspaper could retain its fresh off the presses look.
Right? Like that paper would've had faded ink, yellow paper and tears from over the century
When the word “canvas” isn't correctly spelt in the valuation document, that’s quite a red flag😂😂😂😂
It was "solidily" on a casual "canvass". Wow!! The signature looks like a really good forgery, which the expert confirmed when he said it's not a real Monet.
Ironic comment, since on this side of the pond, we don't use the word "spelt" 😂😂
@@kevinmach730 Yeah you do. Spelt flour.
😂😂😂
To be fair, I could see the "art world" spelling things differently like that to seem more classy than the plebians below them.
Of course you’re going to take a Monet to a pawn shop.
not just that, it needs to be Rick's pawnshop, the one from the TV show 😂😂😂
Well if it means you get to be on tv then yeah
Rick - "show me the Monet"
Seller - "show me the money"
Sad.....
It’s the best pawn shop to take it to
The baltic amber cracled me up as soon as he said "with a tarantula in it" come on my dude 😂
The customers don't realize that they're getting an appraisal whether they like the deal or not... Dude had 350 dollar shoes, and was mad that he couldn't PAWN them for 200? Just sell them as a collectors item?
"Cory, why don't you take it home and hang it up to remind yourself not to be so damn stupid"lmfao
Either gotta get rid of the gun or the wife😂😂😂 I hope he don't get rid of the wife now 😂😂😂
It doesn't even make sense that the insurance company would pay out on something that wasn't real. After they heard the company paid out, how could they still doubt if the coin was real?
Danny the mechanic handled it real cool. (Even though I know he was not happy)
He had 18" on the chop shop dwarf... Some people just can't help but ending up prematurely 😵
"I got some Labron signed shoes"
"I'll pay you 5$ to get that shit out of my sight."
I have a Manzel Brown's authentic jersey.. Any one want it?
That guy saying they need a better mechanic LOL Thought Danny was gonna kick his ass the way he was looking at him.
⁰🎉0⁰😢
Yeah that face said “I’m going to kick your ass if you don’t take that back right now” 😂
I had a Pete Rose baseball card when I was a kid. I wasn't trying to collect them though. My grandmother threw it out. She said it couldn't be worth anything because the guy was a criminal.
Probably shouldn't tell her how much a sealed copy of Mike Tyson's Punch Out goes for then($1,700 over on ebay).

ikil
@@TheHeroWTF The comment had nothing to do with video games.
@@MakeItTooBigToRighis Grandmother said wouldn't be worth anything due to Pete being a criminal. Tyson was a former convinct. Just saying a video game that he was involved in was worth something.
The slow clap from the old man was priceless❤😂
so if the insurance company paid out for the coin....wouldn't the insurance company own it?
only if the payment was because they took possession of the coin.
@@corberus3119what if the person wants the original coin back bc of sentimental value

Life of Brian. One of the funniest movies I have ever seen.😂😂😂😂
Appraiser says its worth $350-$400, and he asks for $600. What a dunce.
Yea, as if pawn shops are the collectors who would pay the top dollar for it lmao. People are always dumb about that. They hear the value and want that much. Take your ass to an auction
I went from a plastic recycling story to this, from one scam to another.
If the insurance paid for the loss, then the coin now belongs to the insurance company
First thing I thought.
That's not how that works.
The owner can buy it back from the insurance company, but yes.
Not exactly. You either pay the insurance company back, or you give them the item. If you don’t do either you’re breaking the law.
That's exactly how it works.

" I either gotta get rid of the gun or the wife"
Bye bye wife.
Gun gets rid of wife tbh
Quote of the century “I gotta get rid of the gun or the wife” 😂 you could do one with the other or both 😂
Funny, they have an "expert" for everything and they all get there in 20 minutes, and they work for free. Oh what a wonderful world isnt ?
That's because it's all staged. I'm sure you suspected that anyway
Yes, that's extremely funny. BTW, they close the shop when filming these episodes, and the deals are pre-selected. Keep enjoying the humor, though!
The filmed transactions are planned
Mmmm...
😂😂😂👍👍
Guy selling that motor was on that shi 😂😂
dead ass the dude was high it looked like lol
One shekel wasn't the weekly wage, it was the daily wage. And 30 pieces of silver was the amount people had to pay if they killed someone else's slave. Not a coincidence.
Now... the doctor who had owned the painting was really well off, but he had to borrow money from this guy?
He wanted all His Money in cash, before He croaked
I agree lol
My thoughts exactly
*(**10:33**)* - Dude started tweakin' when they didn't want to buy it lol. XD
When the wife forces you to walk over to a pawn shop to sell a $75 flintlock pistol. 😂😂
Get rid of the wife. Big mistake
I mean atleast that should make it mentaly easier for him to get rid of the pistol 😄
Future business model:
1) Buy rare/valuable but cleaned coins.
2) Bury them in my garden for a couple years
3) Profit!😅😂
You wouldn't get patina by burying it.

As soon as i saw the close up ( 7:26 ) of the Elvis contract it was obviously a copy.
Apparently I'm an "expert"
Yeah, we don't need a bigass magnifying glass to figure that one out.

if you're trying to sell genuine authentic old artworks that ranges in millions
pawnshops aren't the best option to sell it.
throw it in auction houses that'll do.
i like how all these youtube titles for this show implies a Jerry Springer styled confrontation
Isn’t Mona Lisa supposed to be in an art exhibit behind some really high tech vault that’s bullet proof ?
Monet didn't paint the Mona Lisa 🤦♂️😂
@@122Rosco well aware of that
Blinkey seemed shady with the rusty Porsche engine
Was probably pulled like 10 years ago and sitting in his yard since then under a tarp. People always think shit holds its value and they don't store it properly, then they finally get around to dealing with it and turns out time and the weather got to it. Must have seen it a dozen times.
The guy selling the le brons sounds like dr Phil 😂
The old man slow clap... hahahaha
Heres the deal. You got something highly valuable and you touch it with your bare hands? WTH!!!
It's crazy how someone can reproduce a painting to that high a standard
Looked like a paint by numbers to me.
Probably was just done by someone as an art school project to get the "feel" of that style.
Happens all the time believe it or not.
"Well brother if you get a good mechanic they'll telll you what to do." - Shyster
"Well "Brother", I AM a good mechanic."
“Dammed Ricky you should offered .5¢ on that coin, and be more careful on what you buy”
I know nothing about antiques but even an ignoramus knows you should never clean anything before selling it. That's plain stupid. If the supposed owner's cleaned a coin the alarms should go off... how did this idiot get ahold of that piece of history?
If they bring a good mechanic 😂
engine seller kept blinking rapidly making me blink lol
I studied Art my whole life. I knew right away
pretty sure anyone knows right away, even if they dont study art their whole life
That's terrible. He should have given him $2000.
All so staged
Doesn’t make the show any less entertaining
Its literally a TV show come on
@@ActionJacksonForever kinda does.
but all so good😍
Almost like it's a TV show and not reality , weird
I like your editing skills! 👏🏻👍
The old man slow clap on the first one took a piece of Rick soul.
The dude looking to sell the engine looked like he was freaking out with his blinking.
I thought Danny was going to knock old boy out trying to sell a rusted out Porsche 911 motor. That got pretty intense.
i love when people say "mint condition" while touching it with their bare fingers.
Get rid of the gun or the wife I was given that choice get rid of my motorcycle or my wife. I still have my motorcycle.
I was given that choice once... get rid of my dog or my girlfriend said she'd leave.
Took my dog fishing yesterday... we had a blast!
👍🏾
And it sounds better too.
Cool I got rid of my husband & got a cat
Why would he buy a gun without getting authentic paperwork for it?
gift of gab of the person who sold it to him and stupidity on his part for falling for it.
How about checking the database before you buy it. 😂
Tell the wife you got money 😅
You’d put a monet up for auction at a legitimate auctioneer
You mean you wouldn't just carry something supposedly worth millions it into a pawn shop, bare and unprotected?
I remember that car Engine episode. That guy knew it had been in water he was blinking so much the count knew he was Lying.
Dude with the engine looked like he was tweaking with that blinking
I hope my ex-wife did not lose the Mona Lisa 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Bought from a student gallery in OR.
Beginning forgers have to practice somewhere...
I could tell immediately that the Elvis auto was a copy.
Of course, that's why you're on YT making zero dollars an hour for your wisdom.Makes total sense.
We just got back from a Mediterranean cruise. I had these at Athina near the Acropolis & the Plaka in Athens. They were delicious. Now that I’ve found how to make them, you can be sure I’m going to enjoy them again.
First guy was nervous and wanted the money fast.
elivis presley contract when he says its a copy bro i could of told you that by looking it from my phone 😂😂😂
Nope call in the $100 an hour expert
Every item here was "planted" by the producers so the "home audience" can play along.
Proving that was one of the thirty pieces would be one hell of a job :D first you would have to prove any of that shit happend (already impossible) and go from there
Mona Lisa ?
This idiot thought that Monet was Mona Lisa. Never watching his videos again.
Expert car builder vs junk yard owner. Who would you believe?
10:30 another red flag the eye blinking 😂😂😂
Joe Rogan has almost convinced me to get these earless headphones
Wouldn't the insurance company tbat paid out on the coin claw it back??
Expert: so these shoes seem authentic but they're not worth more than 400
Pawn shop: I could give you 200, maaaaybe 250 for it since we have to make a profit here
Customer: I will not take less than 600 even though a professional expert just assured me you could never sell it for that much yourself
These people lmao
There are never that many casual shoppers in a pawn shop
Twitchy seller with a Porsche engine
Danny thinking internally "yo man get the f*** out..."
Brushes white powder off the front of his shirt.....they should have pulled the spark plugs, stuck in a borescope and checked the cylinder walls.
Not only was that guy on hella drugs I'm 90% sure, that engine was something he found in a garage he broke into 😂
I just saw his blinking as a nervous tick that he was lying.
Are the voiceovers really necessary??
He has it to claim fair use, even though it's not.
Why do I have to use sunglasses when I look at Ricks head ?

Danny Koker LMAO
13 percent of interest per month? DAMN, that's like over 330 % per year, does sound like usury, but I guess if people are desperate enough...
It's cheaper than the pawn shop in my town. They charge 29%
Rick KNOWS they made MILLIONS of THOSE specific coins allllllllllllll the way back then ? 🤔
It's called knowledge. If it's a small value coin how many do you think you'd need in an entire empire for about 200 years? 50? 1000?
"get rid of the gun or the wife"
Not a hard choice there in that situation. But clearly he has to have a history of bad choices seeing he did marry her in the first place.
"The gun or the wife"... obviously the WIFE has to GO!!
I wonder how much the insurance company paid for the coin?
Wonder how many brush strokes are on the mone't
Pawn stars set me up for failure in a real life pawn shop
It's a genuine zeegler, paid for with struple. 😂😂😂
I live all the people saying it's staged. They know it's a TV show right?
Right? It's pretty common knowledge that these are dramatized after hours for the show.
Why would he try to sell a freaking _Monet_ of all things at a pawn shop in the first place?
Who’s going to walk in and buy a shekel for more than $1600? Who?
To catch plagierism, you can mix with different types of metal and different types of isotope. In fact you can do this for all products. I think i got the idea from one of tom clancy novel.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love watching Pawn Stars and their Experts
If I had that coin, I would not sell it.
If the insurance company paid for the coin, real or not, why isn't the coin considered theirs?
Always call an expert.
It's ashame you can't speak you own mind on this without getting banned ....you know exactly what I mean
It’s crazy how people think so many things are real and worth so much money smh 🤦
COIN - Compensated - Meaning THEY PAID it secretly and claimed it as the other guys insurance 🤣
Fun fact: Dr. Ferdinand Porsche's first production car was electric.
10:13 Thats gotta suck that the seller actually had a real and authentic engine but just because of improper storage ...
Still didnt excuse him trying to undermine the Auto expert
LOL. Monet did not start the impressionist art movement. That would be Manet.
It cannot be older than DIRT.
That coin belongs to insurance company then.
I mean they found out the sheckle was insured and reimbursed for. Insurance company would have authenticated it before insuring.
