Rainbows are just refractions of light. The light is decomposed of different wavelengths (frequencies) in the so-called EM visible spectrum. Any kid in middle school can reproduce the light refraction experiment and it doesn’t have to be a dome shape.

It's the refraction of a lens, itself, where the vapors in the air do it in nature. As long as you're able to refract the light to divide into a visible spectrum you can get the effect. Prisms do it. Crystals. Etc. Its just light refraction. It's curved because of the angle you see it. Water drops create a circular rainbow (but it can't circle around ground so its an arc). No need for flat earth.
