People forget DC has never had an upset pulled off against him which is amazing. Not even Jones can say that because Reyes basically pulled off the upset and Matt Hamill technically did. Honestly I thought what happened to Stipe against Francis was going to happen to DC against Rumble. I picked DC in the first Rumble fight but I was pretty sure he was going to lose the 2nd fight to Rumble in Buffalo but he won easier. To beat Rumble twice when Rumble was knocking out everyone doesn't get enough credit. Although I didn't think Volkan could beat DC I did think he was a dangerous opponent because at that time he was called "no time" since Volkan was finishing people faster than Ronda when she was at her best.

DC's height 1.80 and he fought against taller opponents.
If he stayed only at HW he could be truly the GOAT in UFC.
I don't think, that Jones can beat prime DC at Heavyweight.

@@ZyroSugar In Wikipedia, it's show 1.80, but if he is real 1.75, this mean, that he is same height with Khabib.

Fedor has better striking and the fastest hands in Heavyweight, while DC is stronger and has better wrestling. It'll be close, but I see DC take it with difficulty.

Probably one of the better post fight displays in UFC from that fight between them. I wonder why this came up as a discussion here. Because of Gus announcing his return to action. I was pretty happy about that when I found out the other day. The way he announced it sounds like he's ready to write a new chapter. And it's great that it comes in line with Jones move to heavyweight. Hope the third time's the charm. Hope he can finally get gold. I was thinking bout that not too long ago and kinda salty about it that he couldn't get it. That he couldn't beat DC or Jones. Things will be different this time.

I still feel bad for my neighbours. As a Swede these UFC events usually start at 04:00 in the morning and end around 06:30-07:00.
During this fight when Alex just remained in the clinch eating uppercuts I was shouting like a fucking idiot for him to get out of the clinch lol. I still dont understand why the fuck he just stayed there, ...Twice. He wasn´t stuck, stuck. And I feel that sequence really changed the course of the fight.

Alexander Gustafsson arguably gave both Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones - two of the greatest athletes in sports - their closest and most difficult fights when all parties included were in their prime years. Just goes to show how many factors are at play when even the most talented of contenders can fall short.
