Why were the tunnel Segments brought by truck from Brisbane and not built in Sydney ? Seems that was a expense that could have been avoided and why wasn't rail considered to transport these segments.
It doesn't seem very environmentally friendly to be making concrete tunnel segments in Brisbane, then sending them by truck to Sydney. Oh, the irony of not using rail for transportation.
"Tunnel excavated materials have been identified for sustainable reuse as part of future construction at Western Sydney International Airport". Some of it has probably been used to level/landscape areas of the current airport construction, and the rest is being stored onsite, for later use on the expansion of the airport. You could get in touch with them and ask. This isn't "top secret" information.
Sorry, but that was a very dull documentary. Not a single shot of a TBM. There are a thousand examples on YT of how to showcase big engineering projects.
No where near as good as the high capacity double deck Sydney Trains & these single deck ugly privatised Metro's only have 3 carriages & not even compatible with other Metro they built in Sydney. WHAT A BACKWARD STEP & WHAT A JOKE. Should have been built as 8 car double deck Sydney Trains.
i admire your skill in blending entertainment with education!

I'm sure it will be lovely. But it's still Western Sydney and it'll still be a shi*thole.
