- In this video, I take a broken and beat up Traxxas T-maxx and restore it by simply cleaning and thoroughly going through practically everything on the truck. I hope you enjoy this video and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out on all future projects!

Tmaxx transmissions have an internal clutch that engages with rpm. It's normal to spin like that without the driveshafts moving. The 2.5 would cog sometimes when taking off from a stop becuz of this internal clutch. The single speed conversion and remove the reverse gears would fix the cog issue but it doesn't hurt anything the way it is.
Bought a used t maxx 3.3 did just about same as you did
"I'm just going to scrape off the heavy stuff first"
Why didn't I think of that before using a gallon of isopropyl alcohol
Looking back on this, I should take some of my advise from this video. Ive started to get complacent with my cleaning and now also go through a gallon of rubbing alcohol 😅
Cool keyboard!!
It wants a 3.3, nothing else
If the piston wasn't burnt I'd be surprised.
