I was lucky enough to have stayed at the Disneyland Hotel a few times as a kid in the 80's and 90's. Some fond memories include the remote control boats and cars, feeding the fish at the koi pond, paddle boating around the marina, the nightly dancing lights show, watching the Disneyland fireworks from the balcony of our room, waterfalls that you can walk behind (got "lost" one day playing hide and seek here), and the UNDERWATER arcade! Great times!
Back in the early 90's when I had my AP we would go to the hotel for drinks at the bar and have dinner there (best chili ever) or the Monorail Cafe. Sometimes we would play with the remote control cars or rc boats in the lagoon or go ice skating before going back to the park. Too bad it's all gone. Thanks for stirring up memories I had forgotten. Good times!
Provost Park Pass I remember they had games on an elevated platform but I don't think I would call it an arcade. The hotel had more games inside and to me that was a proper arcade. My friends got married in one of the garden rooms next to the wall with fountains and lights and swimming carp because of the amount of time we would spend just walking around the hotel grounds.
Great job Chris! I stayed at this hotel on my first time to Disneyland a long time ago when I was 4 years old. It was really fun at the time. The monorail water slides look really cool. Love your channel a lot and I feel like a Disney Pro already.
The working cats have done an excellent job eliminating the dive bombing/attacking and pooping birds, the Norwegian rats and field mice. They have medical, housing and are well fed on top all that. Mostly spayed and neutered, kittens are adopted out if they arrive. Perhaps worthy of a Provost Park Pass video.
Thank you, Dive Bar Casanova! I thought the one puddy he saw was worth more than just a passing, "hey, there's a cat" mention! You're right.....a special vid on the cats would be great---how many, how/when did the collection start, etc. Maybe even meet a few of them up close!
Disneyland is small city and nature park too. Lots of different birds, bugs, lizards etc. My 10 year old granddaughter was trying to catch a green Beetle flying around in Galaxy's Edge. Chewbacca joined in to try and catch it!
They had a 99 year lease and the Hotel was very profitable for them. Plus, they had kids who really enjoyed Disneyland and the Hotel. There was almost a sale in 1973 but the terms could not be agreed upon due to stock fluctuations.
I actually preferred the Wrather owned Disneyland Hotel over the Disney owned hotel. I really liked the architectural style with erector set motif and palms. I stayed at all the towers at one time or another. I really liked the Marina Tower (Fantasy Tower) and had a top floor room there once. The Sierra Tower (Adventure Tower) was pretty cool too. Also stayed at the Bonita Tower (Frontier Tower). One of my favorite memories is looking out at my top room balcony and seeing the Rocket Jets and Matterhorn and other park landmarks in the distance. And of course the massive Parking Lot too. Back then, the coolest thing about the hotel when I was a kid is that you got to take the monorail to and from Disneyland Park. Now the monorail is more tied into DTD. Anyway, I love your channel and am now a subscriber.
These videos are excellent. I’ve stayed at the Disneyland Hotel once and the Grand Californian multiple times. Also, the Disneyland cat spotting is great. I saw one once in line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Love your videos! I learn so many cool things from you guys. Just discovered you three months ago! I live in SoCal and need to go Disneyland badly now with all my new cool info!!!
When you uploaded this yesterday, it was my 21st birthday! I’m watching a bunch of your videos this morning and I enjoy what you’re talking about! I’m a new subscriber
Thank you! I had a wonderful day, thank you for finding such interesting facts! I've never been to Disneyland only Walt Disney World! I'm actually going to be in Disney World in January of 2019!
A big thing overlooked was “Dancing Waters” which was located where the movies are shown. As a child of a single parent, going to the hotel was a much cheaper way of getting the Disney experience. And Dancing Waters was a part of it.
I loved your video! When I stayed at the Disneyland hotel, back in 1976 there were bungalows in the pool area, and that’s where we stayed. Nice but I would have loved to stay in one of the towers. Thank you for taking me back to my dream place.
Another benefit to staying at the Disneyland hotel is that if you buy anything in the park, you can have it sent back to the hotel so you don’t have to carry souvenir bags all day at the park or get a locker.
4th Like 👍👍👍 Neat video, I didn’t know about that extra hour when one stays at the Disney hotels. Enjoyed this video but I was anticipating that enthusiastic “woohoo” though I think this particular video didn’t call for the “woohoo” ☹️ oh well next time...smell u later alligator 😉👏🏼✌🏼
I used to not like your videos but now there really entertaining. I like looking at the cool stuff and the facts that you bring along at Disneyland I wish my family could afford to go. Also u should make a video of your favorite things at Disneyland, California , or the hotel.
I love watching your vids because I am wanting to go to Disney land and when I do go I love to know all the fun facts to tell all my friends whilst walking through the park Also you are so funny and I love your editing
I remember as a kid my parents would take us to the Disneyland Hotel to enjoy the different festivities that happened at night including the Dancing Waters.
Re-Watched this classic secrets revealed as we scoot scoot down the I-15 for my hubby’s birthday weekend at the DLR and our stay at Disneyland Hotel 😆😆😆 so excited!! Thanks for all the fab content, Chris seemed mellow in this video 😂🤣we love your zany personality ♥️♥️♥️
Cool vid Chris. We are staying just down the road at the Sheraton in August but we will be visiting both the hotels to eat and drink and get some pics. Is the pool open to outside guests for a fee? I think we are going to book Steakhouse 55 for a meal ! We hear top end of Downtown is going to be closed off for hotel development is that going to stop the monorail use from that end back into the park? So excited get there ! Great vlog again m8 🤘🏽🤠🤘🏽
I don’t know how I missed this video!! But I loved it as usual! Chris your Awesome! You too Amanda! I can’t imagine your going to be able to make videos like these while your in Florida!! A bit much! I can’t wait for you guys to be there! Rest up!!!💗💗💗💗
I miss the Disneyland waterfalls. They were so beautiful, you could literally walk between them, under them, it was really refreshing during the summer. But ever since California had its drought season, I think they got rid of them, now all that’s left of them the koi pond.
Love your videos! My family and I are getting ready to go to Disneyland in May. We are undecided if we go all out and stay at the Disney Grand hotel or Disneyland hotel. Do you have a video hotel vs hotel? What's the best one for small kids?
There use to be an awesome but simple water and light show that use to happen behind the lawn where they show movies. You can see the wall where the show was at the back of the lawn.
We stayed there prior to the removal of the waterfalls. That was my favorite part of the hotel grounds. Second was the outdoor showing of Fantasy Waters (I think that was the name), where they would have an outdoor light and water show near the pool area. We would grab some popcorn and settle into a lounge chair and watch the show while relaxing at the end of the day. Do you have any videos of the waterfalls?
Great video! So many things that I didn't know about the Disneyland hotel! Hey, when you first showed the grassy area where you said they show the night time movies, was that wall in the back a remnant from the old Disneyland Hotel Fantasy Waters show? That is so cool if it was! You should do a video on the history of that show. My parents used to take us to see it on a regular basis when I was a kid because it was free. I miss it! Look it up on UA-cam if you're not sure what I'm talking about. There are videos of it.
Provost Park Pass yes I do but in my free time I LOVE to study up on Disney and Disneyland! Thank you so much for replying to my comment it made my day keep up the good work!!
While the parents were throwing back a few drinks at the bar by the monorail we would head to the under water arcade, it had the only Star Wars sit down video game in town. The 80's
So, wandering cats and outrageous lines for Peter Pan. Sounds like Florida 🤣. Anyways, great vid. I just wish it was less money a night to stay on property.
When I was little the monorail used to have a stop at the disneyland hotel. When I returned in 1989 they had remodeled the pools and moved the monorail stop out to the road. I'm not sure if that is the current downtown Disney stop location.
It would be great if you did a video on the Paradise Pier hotel, we are staying there for our Disneyland vacation in December. And it would be fun to hear about info about Disneyland at Christmas time. And I also love the comment below about a video about the top special Disneyland souviners :). I love history and trivia, your videos are so fun!
Next time we go to Disneyland I definitely want to stay at a Disney hotel, but until then I do have a trip booked to WDW where we're staying at the Port Orleans Riverside resort. Wife is a huge Princess and the Frog fan so booked the Royal room that has references to that movie and other Disney princess movies
Ha ha yeah. Even better is that while she does know we're going on a trip. She doesn't know where. Christmas will be the reveal, but I think I'm going to keep the hotel a secret until we get a baggage tags, and then keep the actual room type a secret until we show up there
So real quick update. Pinocchio’s workshop has been gone for a year. Disney moved the fitness center there for bigger space. As of now Disneyland hotel does host lawn games where you saw that red buoy.
My Favorite Hotel. Its So Beautiful and Cozy. My family have stay at all the towers.I Love the Wall with all the Souvenirs. Its a couple of steps from Goofys Kitchen. I do miss the Monorail dock at the Hotel though. That was along time ago.
I wish I had watched this helpful video before our first stay and I appreciate the Disney optimism, but we were not told any of these things at check-in even with a club level room. The mobile check in didn't work this year, so I did have the chance to ask a human at the front desk a few questions but I guess you have to know what to ask. They could simply direct you to or hand you the events calendar with pool/waterslide times and maybe dining options, etc. Here is some additional info as of 2022: - waterslides close at 6p (this isn't much time if your room is ready by checkin at 3p - ours wasn't), pool closes at 10p and the water is now heated to 80F (wasn't during pandemic) *these will likely close for the rest of the day (not just 30 min) if there's thunder/lightning - you can only go to the pool at the hotel where your room is located, we heard people who had stayed at all the Disneyland hotel options say the DH pool is the best for kids - for any character dining (ie Goofy's kitchen) should get a reservation as early as possible (opens 60 days in advance) - if you want anything shipped to you during your stay from outside Disney, the mail room is closed on Sunday and you likely won't receive it (ever) so have it sent sat/mon or somewhere else - you can enjoy hotel amenities and parking the day of checkout up until midnight! they will hold your luggage for you - just ask - they do offer a birthday gift box and balloons for $150 (+ $10 delivery fee), which I let them know is prohibitively expensive for most families. This is currently a pilot program and limited to 4 in the entire resort, so reserve very early. Unsure if there are other options for weddings, anniversaries, etc. - Early entry to the parks is now only 30 min before park opening (starting at 7:30a) but this is a fantastic way to avoid lines!
This was extremely helpful! I haven't stayed there in years and to see how it has changed and the tips you provided has given me a new bucket list item. Could you do a video on pin trading?
Love your vids didn’t know some of the facts but I New about the building and the owning of them but I didn’t know about the thing on the side of the rooms the photos are really really cool love your vids can’t wait for more and I’m your #1 fan do another Disneyland video I didn’t know about goofy’s kitchen or how tall the towers were different rooms love your vids bye
I actually did that magic morning thing last year and was sad cuz I wanted to ride pirates which was one of my fav rides and couldn't cuz they didn't open New Orleans square or frontier land that early so I spent it waiting around till opening and I stayed in the Marriott hotel down the street from there to avoid the high pricing of the hotels also I think that monorail slide used to be captain hooks ship slide years ago
We always stay at this hotel and do the E-ticket club!! Free breakfast every morning and snacks all day? Yes please! They cater to you like royalty. Plus the extra magic hour is always the best part! Never wait in line again! I can’t imagine going to Disneyland and not staying here :)
Now it is the moderately priced resort. With that being said, I actually prefer staying here over the Grand Californian as I feel it is more family oriented than the Grand.
you should make a video about disneyland transportation! i'm visiting the park for the first time this summer and would love to see a video on the topic! i'll be staying at one of the disney good neighbor hotels, and am curious about how to get from the hotel to the park! also, i think that you should include the tram because i never see it in any videos and have no idea how to get to it! thanks, and keep up the great work on your videos!
Do they still have the koi fish pond? I remember getting to feed them as a kid back in the 90s. I’m sad to hear the marina is gone. The paddle boats and RC boats were a highlight of our stay.
thats very cool you seen one of the Disney cats. Isnt their something like 300 cats that live on Disney? Out of all the hotels they have near Disney which one is your fav?
Goofy a kitchen is awesome! Me and my family would always stay at The Grand Californian and one day out of the vacation we would go to Goff’s kitchen 10/10 would recommend!
I wish I can go there 😂🙌🏼 It looks so cool especially with all the facts u present and uncover for us!!
It is fun Especially with Pixar pier!
I’ve been to Disneyland and dca but when I went paint the night was still there and Paradise pier was there so I went 2 years ago.
disney: lemme but the hotel
oil millionaire: no
a few years later
disney: *buys oil millionaire*
There used to be a golf course there. My Mom played there quite a bit. Probably back in the 1960s
Just stayed 2 nights in the fantasy tower...Worth ever penny....great video. thank you.
What a great video. I just stayed at the Disneyland hotel last week.
Nice of you to help the kid out.👍

Could you make a video about the top 10 souvenirs to buy in Disneyland?
Amanda, you get to go shopping! You're welcome! :D
Love that idea! 🌹💕
Ahh what a great idea!! DISNEY SHOPPING SPREE! I owe you. ;)
8:20 That particular cats name is Tink. when we stayed. I got to know a few of the cats there. my favorite is Sammy. he's a very fluffy black cat..
I stayed at the Disneyland Hotel several times back in the 1960's and 70's when Wrather owned it. It was really nice then.

My husband and I worked there in the early 2000s. We still love to visit our hotel. He worked engineering and I was at the bell desk.
Yeah any time. We still have friends that work there.
Thank you Chris!!! Super cool to see the different towers the wall is now in my bucket list want to go see all the people who have stayed!!
Found your channel this week and love it. A suggestion for a future video is the top 10 drinks at Disneyland
Provost Park Pass It's definitely divine inspiration
Yes yes yes!! If there is anything I love more than Disneyland food... it's Disneyland drinks!
Whenever I watch your videos I feel like I’m back at Disney and I love learning new things about it.✨✨thank you
These videos are excellent. I’ve stayed at the Disneyland Hotel once and the Grand Californian multiple times. Also, the Disneyland cat spotting is great. I saw one once in line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
I love the Disneyland cats, we saw three in one day once!
It all started with your video about bathrooms... i saw that maybe a month ago and I've seen i think 15 videos more since then. I'm hooked!!!!
Provost Park Pass that makes me happy to hear!
We love your videos and hope to see you Sunday morning. We have a HUGE surprise that we are going to be streaming LIVE for!
Love your videos! I learn so many cool things from you guys. Just discovered you three months ago! I live in SoCal and need to go Disneyland badly now with all my new cool info!!!
Yay so glad you found us!!!
I actually got glance at a wedding and the carriage walking back from the Adventure Tower from the DVC orientation, 'tis was magical!
When you uploaded this yesterday, it was my 21st birthday! I’m watching a bunch of your videos this morning and I enjoy what you’re talking about! I’m a new subscriber

I miss the Dancing waters show!😢
Been waiting for this for a whole week I found your channel about 2 weeks ago and watched all your videos in one sitting
i did andi cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another benefit to staying at the Disneyland hotel is that if you buy anything in the park, you can have it sent back to the hotel so you don’t have to carry souvenir bags all day at the park or get a locker.

He should have over a million subs
Thank you so much. What a great compliment! Spread the word about us and maybe we'll get there one day!
Co-host Amanda I hope you do and I will 😄😋
Provost Park Pass You will one day I just know it!!!
My family and I stayed here in 1986 on our family vacation to Disneyland. Great place.
Great video! Suggestion for future video: show the concierge area for the Disney Hotels 😀
My friend got married at the Rose Court a couple weeks ago. The wedding reception was held at the Sleeping Beauty’s Pavillion. It was magical! ✨
I used to not like your videos but now there really entertaining. I like looking at the cool stuff and the facts that you bring along at Disneyland I wish my family could afford to go. Also u should make a video of your favorite things at Disneyland, California , or the hotel.
Staying there is on my bucket list!!
Love the story of how Disney acquired the hotel.
I love watching your vids because I am wanting to go to Disney land and when I do go I love to know all the fun facts to tell all my friends whilst walking through the park
Also you are so funny and I love your editing
I remember as a kid my parents would take us to the Disneyland Hotel to enjoy the different festivities that happened at night including the Dancing Waters.
Re-Watched this classic secrets revealed as we scoot scoot down the I-15 for my hubby’s birthday weekend at the DLR and our stay at Disneyland Hotel 😆😆😆 so excited!! Thanks for all the fab content, Chris seemed mellow in this video 😂🤣we love your zany personality ♥️♥️♥️
Can't believe you were just celebrating 1k and now at 4k, awesome!
Wow, I meant 5k, haha, even better!
Cool vid Chris.
We are staying just down the road at the Sheraton in August but we will be visiting both the hotels to eat and drink and get some pics.

I think we are going to book Steakhouse 55 for a meal !

Rest up!!!💗💗💗💗
Excellent video! I definitely appreciate the tips! I hope to stay here with my wife and kid one day!!
Haven't even watched yet, this channel has been my new favorite disney channel to where I actually hit the notification bell
Provost Park Pass thank you!
Provost Park Pass will there ever be a PPP twitter or instagram in the future?
I miss the Disneyland waterfalls. They were so beautiful, you could literally walk between them, under them, it was really refreshing during the summer. But ever since California had its drought season, I think they got rid of them, now all that’s left of them the koi pond.
Another fascinating video! Plenty of cool secrets and special effects in Trader Sam’s, not sure it’s a whole video worth but still very cool!
Provost Park Pass it’s a beautiful day here, pretty cold at the moment but sunny. Looking forward to hopefully getting back to warm California soon!
Yes Thank You for this! Great job Chris as always!
I remember seeing you recording a few bits for this and wondering later "I wonder what ever became of that guy?."
Love your videos! My family and I are getting ready to go to Disneyland in May. We are undecided if we go all out and stay at the Disney Grand hotel or Disneyland hotel. Do you have a video hotel vs hotel? What's the best one for small kids?

There’s me again! When I walked pass you 🤣the Gray Sweatshirt that literally me! Man it’s been 2 years sense I saw you
This video was the final push for choosing this hotel for our trip in a few years. Very informative but still loads of fun.
We stayed there prior to the removal of the waterfalls. That was my favorite part of the hotel grounds. Look it up on UA-cam if you're not sure what I'm talking about. There are videos of it.
When I was working there as a bartender, they called the towers, The Bonita, The Sierra and The Marina. I worked there from 94 to 04.
Ha ha. I really do have some great stories. I could write a book on it. LOL. I do miss working there.
Also, great video! Brought up so many memories.
I would love to chat with you sometime.
Sebastian Smith , my husband and I worked there too. I was at the bell desk from 2000s to 2003.
You should do a video discussing all of the rumors/myths/urban legends about Disneyland/California adventure, and which ones are and are not true
Great Video every Wednesday when I get home from school I always look forward to watching your videos. Keep up the great work!!
The 80's
I remember that arcade. It was my favorite arcade ever!!
So, wandering cats and outrageous lines for Peter Pan. Sounds like Florida 🤣. Anyways, great vid. I just wish it was less money a night to stay on property.
Aw me and my husband took our engagement pictures in that gazebo ❤️.
I would really recommend The grand Californian Hotel, in my opinion the best Disney hotel
And it’s the most expensive!
Another great video 💕
Definitely the highlight of my week 💕
Also, do you know about the ultra themed rooms on top of each tower? The mickey suite, big thunder suite, adventure land suite, etc.
New to your channel, and loving it. As an Eastcoaster the explanation and walkthru at the DLHs is extremely helpful.
When I was little the monorail used to have a stop at the disneyland hotel. When I returned in 1989 they had remodeled the pools and moved the monorail stop out to the road. I'm not sure if that is the current downtown Disney stop location.
I love your videos!

So fun ! Thank you !
When you pointed out the place that they play movies is where the dancing waters show was too.
Christmas will be the reveal, but I think I'm going to keep the hotel a secret until we get a baggage tags, and then keep the actual room type a secret until we show up there
Mercurial Moose Sweet have fun
I love your videos! Keep it up!
So real quick update. Pinocchio’s workshop has been gone for a year. Disney moved the fitness center there for bigger space. As of now Disneyland hotel does host lawn games where you saw that red buoy.
Awesome video, definetely subscribing for more!!
Here is some additional info as of 2022:
- waterslides close at 6p (this isn't much time if your room is ready by checkin at 3p - ours wasn't), pool closes at 10p and the water is now heated to 80F (wasn't during pandemic) *these will likely close for the rest of the day (not just 30 min) if there's thunder/lightning
- you can only go to the pool at the hotel where your room is located, we heard people who had stayed at all the Disneyland hotel options say the DH pool is the best for kids
- for any character dining (ie Goofy's kitchen) should get a reservation as early as possible (opens 60 days in advance)
- if you want anything shipped to you during your stay from outside Disney, the mail room is closed on Sunday and you likely won't receive it (ever) so have it sent sat/mon or somewhere else
- you can enjoy hotel amenities and parking the day of checkout up until midnight! they will hold your luggage for you - just ask
- they do offer a birthday gift box and balloons for $150 (+ $10 delivery fee), which I let them know is prohibitively expensive for most families.
There used to be a massive arcade under that marina in the quad and I was wondering if they relocated it or just got rid of it? Asking for a friend.
This was extremely helpful! I haven't stayed there in years and to see how it has changed and the tips you provided has given me a new bucket list item. Could you do a video on pin trading?
Back in the day, we used to go to the Disneyland Hotel and get on the Monorail to go into Disneyland! 60 cents!!
I am so late, sorry.
Still watched though, Love you Chris and Amanda! ❤️😊
LOTS OF LOVE RIGHT BACK AT YA!!!

Provost Park Pass is a t Disneyland or California adventure
At 3:11, what's the name of the song and by who?
Wow, I never knew all this stuff next time I stay I definitely have to check all this out! Thanks!
Thank you so Much! I love your Videos! interesting.
Great video like the new info. Is it true that they have special themed rooms or is that a different Disney hotel.
We always stay at this hotel and do the E-ticket club!! Free breakfast every morning and snacks all day? Yes please! They cater to you like royalty. Plus the extra magic hour is always the best part! Never wait in line again! I can’t imagine going to Disneyland and not staying here :)
We only stayed there once, it's so expensive, but it was amazing! I didn't notice the vegetation changes by tower! Great video!
Provost Park Pass I love Disney, they are simply the best at what they do.
Now it is the moderately priced resort. With that being said, I actually prefer staying here over the Grand Californian as I feel it is more family oriented than the Grand.
Anthony Morella really? Good to hear! Thanks!
you should make a video about disneyland transportation! i'm visiting the park for the first time this summer and would love to see a video on the topic! i'll be staying at one of the disney good neighbor hotels, and am curious about how to get from the hotel to the park! also, i think that you should include the tram because i never see it in any videos and have no idea how to get to it! thanks, and keep up the great work on your videos!
Is the frontier tower the one that has the suites? Cause I stayed in that way back in 2001
you have a new subscriber
Do they still have the koi fish pond? I remember getting to feed them as a kid back in the 90s. I’m sad to hear the marina is gone. The paddle boats and RC boats were a highlight of our stay.
Yay I’m going there in 12 days so happy that I have this video to watch
Yay another video!
im staying there tomarrow HYPE
Pinocchio's workshop has been closed since March 2017.
thats very cool you seen one of the Disney cats. Isnt their something like 300 cats that live on Disney? Out of all the hotels they have near Disney which one is your fav?
If I recall right if you stay at any of the three Disney hotels any gifts/souvenirs you buy in the park will be delivered to your room.
Goofy a kitchen is awesome! Me and my family would always stay at The Grand Californian and one day out of the vacation we would go to Goff’s kitchen 10/10 would recommend!
Maybe Ive missed it but, have you made a video of the round trip on the rail road?
Not yet. We will get to it. 👍🏻👍🏻
