Wright seems to me to be consistent with integrity and focusing on what he sees with both a better microscope and telescope and paints a clearer picture with both. God certainly is inspiring him, imho.

Wright has been right because he is not basing his theology on present agreed upon parameters, Wright is much higher, brighter and righter than any other theologian I know, and that is really something, There is no mystery here. He is a Man of God - Stephen Wilcox

The old perspective resonates with me. The new perspective does not make sense to me. Did the speaker say the new perspective denies justification by faith alone? If it does, then the new perspective is a heresy, which should be rejected completely.

No, he's saying that there are some NP scholars who do that. And that some don't. The NP itself doesn't require a changed belief on justification. All the NP does is say the restoration of God's kingdom order is his primary purpose and that saving individual people is just a subset of that. The Old P. believes that God prioritizes individual salvation. As Wright says in "After You Believe", obeying God's commands in this life is very important because it trains and conditions us for life in the restored kingdom. Works don't save us. But they are what we are being saved to. Not to our happiness. Paul said "We are [God's] workmanship. We were created for good works in Christ." We weren't created to be happy forever. We are created to do God's work. That's what we will do forever in the new kingdom.

Tim, the faith of Christ is the way the KJV and the NET translate Rom.3:22 and the HCSB also translates it this way as an alternate reading.

Like you said, koine Greek is precise in some things but it isn't in other things. This verse can be translated "through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ" or "through trust in Jesus the Messiah." Both are valid.

Justification by faith alone is just a very guarded and revered protestant idol.

You don't do works TO be saved; you do works BECAUSE you're saved!
Does Wright believe in Calvinism? Jesus died for ALL; not the few. If he reads D.A. Carlson, he is a Calvinist.
Also.. so salvation is not central to the Gospel? Dangerous grounds. YOU DON'T GET SAVED BEING IN A COMMUNITY. IT'S INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNTABILITY.
"Scholars can sometimes think too much". - Best quote by Tim!

I don’t think he’s wright, despite of his name. It seems just be human made theology.

It is a "both/and" scenario. Of the four solutions offered, it seems the "1) sins forgiven and 2) spreading of the covenantal community" is the best choice.

A roman view. Wright is leading people into the swamp, the sinking sand of roman catholicism.

I find Wright's supercessionism is too imposing and off-putting.
