How To: Setup Your Nanrobot.

- If you just got your Nanrobot, or are planning on getting one soon, check out this video. I cover everything you need to do to setup your scooter that isn't covered in the manual. We'll go over which bolts to tighten and how to get out on the road as fast as possible. In my experience , the most common parts to come loose are the bezel that holds the stem on, and the bolt underneath the latching mechanism. If those aren't tight it will result in a large amount of wobble.
I just purchased my own D4+ 2.0. I wanted to let you know that I found this video to be a HUGE help when setting up my scooter after unboxing. Many thanks for that, and for all of the great content that you have on your channel. I lived in Seattle for a little over 20 years (in Magnolia) and now live in Florida, where we have good riding weather all year round (except for during the thunderstorms, of course). Nicely detailed video, although I'm wondering what would happen if that bolt at 3:56 were to fatigue and eventually snap, would the entire mechanism go with it? Similar to the Kaabo Mantis stem bolt issue?
Exactly. The Kabbo is actually a quality machine compared to this thing. I would never buy a nanrobot again. Watch some more of my videos dated a bit later and you'll see that this scooter broke pretty quickly.
@@GingerOnWheels That is distressing to hear. I just purchased the same Nanrobot. I'm a bit older, so I have no plans to off-road with this scooter. I also purchased the seat with it, so I will be even less inclined to ride it in a harsh manner. I'm hoping that by treating this more gently that I won't have any problems with things breaking.
@@CurtRowlett you'll probably be fine. But always be sure to check every nut and bolt unless you've loctited them personally. Bolts rattled out of my d4+ all the time
@@GingerOnWheels Thank you. I've already gone over every nut and bolt. And I've purchased some loctite, which will be my next bit of maintenance. Again, I'm not a speed demon on any of my scooters, preferring to keep things reasonable, while sticking to smooth sidewalks and paved trails. I'm hoping that will help.

Boosted Rev is a bit more expensive, but I've heard its built like a tank. The Ninebot max might be an option for you?

@@gekkoutai what's your budget? What do you consider "cheap"? Cheap scooters are in the $500 range but will probably not be sturdy. How tall / heavy are you if you don't mind my asking? How much range are you looking to get from your scooter per ride?
My suggestion to you is to do few months of research, i’m in the process of buying a scooter myself but a lot of them fall short in my requirements in what I need but I do believe by next year the designs will be much better, realistically you’re looking at paying $1500 if you buy direct from the manufacturer or over 2000 retail for a sturdy long-lasting scooter
What light and iphone grip do you have?
I've already got those same handle grips on my D4+ 2.0, I noticed that my actual bars weren't on center as well one of the grips hung way off the end while the other nearly lined up.
What type of loctite did u use?
I showed the tube in the video. Use whatever locktite you want but make sure to use removable locktite on anything that youd like to remove later down the road or else it'll be permanently stuck onto your scooter.
What's a gimble??
Its a little gizmo that automatically levels your camera to reduce video shakiness.
Would be cool if you included how to setup the menus etc to get the speedo matching GPS speed etc.

What about the speed and mileage with your weight? I seen a lot of videos with this one I want but no one mentions stuff like, "it went 34 miles on a single charge with both motors at 140lbs.

ordered a d4+ 2.0 but Nanrobot mistaken send me a D5+ 2.0. Not regret one bit and not have to deal with the handle bar issues.
I'd say in the grand scheme of things that you lucked out. I've heard much better things from D5 owners overall.
Thanks for the no-nonsense, informative video. The D4+ is well lit and the audio is 1st rate. The box is too heavy to lift on my own, so, I gotta wait until tomorrow to assemble it. Thanks to you, I'll be up and running safely after charging it up.

How do you take the stock grips off?

The grip tape you bought, was it for skateboards? I wanna put a custom graphic one on my future d4+ but I think the deck is too wide for it.
Deck is near perfect width. I used custom skateboard tape.
Deck is 9" wide... it's a very common skateboard grip tape size
@@JPARKERZ28 sorry , yes I should have clarified. I'm using standard size skateboard grip tape, but with that custom red metallic grip.
What scooter would you recommend that is comparable to the d4?
Turbowheel hornet I think would be similar. Or if you have money, dualtron spider. Ewheels has great support.
D5+2.0 for $1380
I have a problem with the pole be destabilized meaning it rocks back in forth any ideas on how to fix it

Don't OVERtighten. Just enough so that the red latch is nice and snug.
