Unrealistic game - doesn’t have an immense pile of grey model shame 🙂↕️ Edit: lawd in my head I was like “I can be painting my minis…. Or fake building and painting minis in this game….”
Ooh! I have a recommendation! If you enjoyed this, you should check out Last Call BBS - it's a bit of a weird collection of games/mini-games and one of them is assembling mech figures a bit like this, but it's a bit more involved and captures a bit more of the fiddly-ness. Plus you get to paint them yourself too!
I've been waiting for someone to make a game like this based off Last Call's mech building game. Only things this one is missing is the paint and tape mechanic, which I absolutely loved doing, and the pinstriping.
Highly recommend Last Call BBS as well. I got it just because of the gunpla minigame (though the rest of the game turned out quite fun as well). Hopefully they polish this game up a ton, because the demo felt pretty lackluster in a lot of areas.
Snipping all the bits off in advance - AKA the Lewis Brindley approach to Warhammer that made Ben's day. (Also, I want to see pictures of Tom's recent gunpla hobby escapades).
this game could be kind of neat if the models were 3d and posable to a background afterwards, this is pretty much "assembling" a flat jpg on a cutting mat as background
Reminds me of the model-building bit in Last Call BBS but less fiddly. That's a good or bad thing depending on your preference but I think I prefer this game a bit more.
I absolutely recommend you paint your gunpla tom if you're enjoying the straight builds. Custom paint jobs are great, especially alongside scribing and kitbashing them together.
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1653 YOOOOOOOOOOO Saw this game the other week and thought it looked really cool, now a fantastic surprise of seeing Tom give it a go and happy to say it is indeed even better :D, I love these types of games, and having a Gunpla one is super duper :D I do hope Tom returns for the full thing, perhaps some Super Chill, just such a great time I do Gunpla myself, and normal model making, and gotta say both have their ups and downs and I love doing both. I love the freedom and intricacy of normal Model Making, but damn if I don't enjoy the nice easy sweet going of Gunpla, like a building break, thanks to the limited paint and no glue needed XD Also, another plus is the articulation of Gunpla, alot more freedon there. Although, when I can, I try not to glue parts of normal models so I can still move them, the amount of vehicles that require you to glue the wheels, my god, just let me Vroom the damn thing XD 2:20 didn't notice the Paper goes under the parts at first, so thought he had one of those chest heads XD ATM I am running off an A4 sized mat, so you ok now, make do XD, would kill for an A2 like Tom has 9:24 The great and mighty T-Rex Bot XD ha ha ha (Time to see how it eats it's food) Such a magnificent technique Tom has developed here XD, very Cheese indeed, but it seems to require a bit morte skill than it looks. I tried it myself with a model I am having particular difficulty on, and sadly it doesn't seem to be working, do I need to do more rubbing, or a bigger pile, does anybody know?
So is this going to be a full fledged version of the mini game that was in Last Call BBS, little bit simpler to access with more accessible tools and custom colour options. I fell like Tom would enjoy rummaging around on the other games inside there as well...
Suggestion for a video: Blue Prince (demo). Think "rougelike house exploration escape room" You can currently explore for 4 game days and there's plenty to discover (I've even started a new save to explore things I didn't have time to)
If you’ve really built model kits you’d see that this game has some rough edges when it comes to assembling parts, with some actually not even making sense and therefore becoming difficult to find which goes where, and the gameplay essentially boils down to waving that piece around until you hear it click in place
There is in fact a 3D model builder game that really just goes by the name Model Builder, and it covers a wide range of kits but sadly, mechs aren’t the focus and as far as I remember, there’s only a total of two mechs in the game
Just for information, this game uses AI generated art, the creator uses AI-gen tools to create the "models" and then manual pull them apart to make into the game.
Hasn't this been out for a few months? I could have sworn I saw something like this way back when you did the one where you're fixing and repairing wooden toys and stuff like that cuz I was trying to look for building games like that and I found this one
the creator of this used AI art and then wasnt honest about it. No original art in an Art Game, Mecha and gunpla are all about the amazing mecha artists, both 3d and 2d. They also fully ripped the idea from Last Call BBS. 0/10 never support
me: Stares at pile of unbuilt gunpla boxes.
also me: I think I'll watch this Tom video of building digital gunpla.
My backlog is also haunting me
i need to save up for another p-bandai haul i think... i havent done gunpla in a year

Gundam kits do actually come pre-painted! Or rather, the sprues are made of coloured plastic, just like in the game 😁

That's exactly what I was thinking of!

Thanks a lot for trying the game and happy that you had fun playing it. On the current demo version you have kitbash too 😉
Is there any chance of adding something where you can actually paint the models yourself instead of bucket filling them?
@@Cow-Moth-With-A-CRT-Head thats beyond my current skills.
@@DonPachihonestly turbo based
Love building Gunpla Mechs, putting them together like Lego feels so good
Same, its a shame i don't really care for the gundam itself. 😂
Snipping all the bits off in advance - AKA the Lewis Brindley approach to Warhammer that made Ben's day. (Also, I want to see pictures of Tom's recent gunpla hobby escapades).
You’ll have to join Tom and lewis on Gunpla Tuesdays!
This really feels like it should be super chill. Just relaxingly watching Tom putting mechs together.
this game could be kind of neat if the models were 3d and posable to a background afterwards, this is pretty much "assembling" a flat jpg on a cutting mat as background
Idk why but "now if I was a neck" really got me
I could watch so many super chills of this while I build my Black Legion army

I loved the Gunpla building game in Last Call BBS and have been looking for a full-sized game about it! Thanks Tomask!

Tom's-a-sorting-algorythm-and-you-get-to-listen-to-his-inner-monologue-as-he-brute-forces-his-way-through-his-tasks simulator 2024.
Loved it. 10/10
This made me want to see you build Gundams like kson
this seems like a prime "superchill" game
Looks like a pretty amazing game! I haven't built models of anything in a long time but it looks like fun. Well played.
Tom confirmed Ork Mekboy when it comes to building miniatures.
I love sitting next to my pile of shame watching a man play a video game about finishing models.
I agree that there needs to be a pipette/colour pick tool
*heavy gundam breathing noises*
Digital gunpla?!
they can't breathe - they're robots, silly.
10:11 But purple is your favorite color, tom!
“I didn’t know if you’d recognize me with the red arm”
Mechs, or what I'd be if God wasn't a coward. There's no foreseeable reason why it'd be a bad idea for us to look like 1:38. Nope

Stumbled across this channel. Got so excited! I know that voice! Subscription achieved.
I wonder which Gunpla Tom has.
Probably the HGUC RX-78-2 Revive, maybe a Strike or Freedom.
Whats yer fave gundam my dude? im a sucker for the old mass produced ones like the Zaku 2 or the Tieren. Just some basic af chonky bois

Tom makes gunpla!
Tom Gunpla building stream when 👀
This feels like it should've been a 3d game. Maybe a VR game? Feels a bit odd to assemble them in 2d.
There is in fact a 3D model builder game that really just goes by the name Model Builder, and it covers a wide range of kits but sadly, mechs aren’t the focus and as far as I remember, there’s only a total of two mechs in the game
"codpiece, nice"
Mandatory Algorithmic Comment Because We Love Tom xx
Hey tom Sol cesto had updated the demo, can play longer and other cool things, its been pretty good fun.
love ya and ya beard.
Just for information, this game uses AI generated art, the creator uses AI-gen tools to create the "models" and then manual pull them apart to make into the game.
Source is the creator themselves admitted it on Twitter.

There's a new creeper world ixe level for next fest. Play it ANgOr
the downside of this game is that the mech model designs look REALLY AI generated.
i think they are, which is dissapointing even if would be free.. its a creative hobby
It is AI-generated, the creator confirmed it on Twitter.
*3 mins in and my Warhammer 40k fingers is itching*....... ahh well, guess im back to painting.
Ugh the "Infinite Craft" strat. Pile every random piece in together and smoosh them all around until you win. Effective but really unsatisfying.

This game use AI generated art and the developer keeps lying about it on their social media and steam page. This is actually against steam rules
