It didnt become a problem until about 10 years in our marriage where it became more of an obsession and something he wanted to do in almost all his free time. Unknown to me he developed a shopping addiction and was spending thousands a month. There was a gambling addiction too that he kept secret. He had credit cards and identification in this personas name.He like to take his persona out gambling. He was becoming a bit psychotic, he wrote several checks from himself to himself.All this was found out when he became ill with cancer and could hid what he was doing any more. He was embezzling from his company to support these addictions.They found out and fired him and filed lawsuits against both of us. All the this was exposed. He was more angry that he got caught than any real guilt or remorse for what he had done to his family.
