"Third Uncle" from Brian Eno's Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy. Performed by Doug Hilsinger and Caroleen Beatty, this CD is a 2004 remake of Eno's 1974 classic album.
Hilsinger on drums, bass, guitar, pedal steel, sitar guitar, glockenspiel, melodica, autoharp, percussion, background vocals, treatments; Beatty on lead vocals and handclaps.

This is absolutely incredible!! I really love how near the end the bass starts doing something different to the original but actually so amazing that it should have been in the original.

Yeah, I think the cover benefits from being slowed down. It makes it sound different enough to be interesting. I think covers that try to beat the original at their own game tend to fall short.

totally agree. i am hearing it for the first time as i write this. I've been an eno fan for 40 years and the bahaus cover is the only one i knew of. really liking this interpretation for putting the song in a new context.
