- In This weeks video we are installing shed power into these 2 sheds however one shed is not the most well built and is a bit rickety as you shall see from the video and there's a potential its being taken down and re built so I would have to to re install this work , Aside that this job was really nice and overall finish of this job is very good and I'm happy with the isolation switches that gives it that extra touch.

Personally I would of clipped the cables at high level on the shed walls and then dropped down to the sockets. I get that it’s only a shed, but having them loose like that makes them prone to damage.
It’s all a learning curve, keep up the good work.

@@AdamDunlopElectrical Yes, I would agree with the comment about clipping at the top and coming down they are out of the way of getting damaged by items being stored also those panels have thin wood braces I would be wary of weakening the structure.
I hope this job was not too far from you as what you have to consider is that is three visits and each visit costs you money to get there.
Agree, would have dropped down in conduit. Would have put in noggins for sockets also and stainless steel cable ties with conduit. You are good to show your work as that’s how we all learn. I would not run those t and E horizontally like that again. Someone will put something heavy on it and will drag it down. Cost is important but customers also need to trust you to recommend a good job. I would be very slow to do a shed without conduit or poor man’s trunking, high level with drop downs. Thanks for video. Good stuff Ad!. One suggestion is to consider fitting wireless linked optical smoke alarms in the sheds if they're charging ebikes etc. Cheers
Could have done a catenary to shed 2 to avoid those concrete panels. Also as above not a lover of the low clipping.
Sadly that install looks like poor DIY. T&E when run at that height is prone to damage such as from garden implements or just general occupancy.

i always clip high level & drop down in conduit to sockets switches etc. kids can pull on them cables ? not your best work mate
Totally agree but as a young lad he will learn better cable management. That’s the beauty of UA-cam video,s that he will get constructive criticism so his learning curve will be steeper
Hi Adam nice job mate no criticisms here but was the sheds fed of a spur in the mainhouse? and why have an Isolater at the back of the shed? you know that shed will be rammed soon and that will not be accessible think i would have placed at the front by the door above the double socket. thx keep up the good works
People are going to use those horizontal cables to hang stuf on,... poor cable support there Adam.
Definitely should of talked the customer into going for conduit in the shed. Looks pretty awful the Twin and Earth on show. Why didn't you cover the SWA coming into the shed behind the back board?

The cust requirements are 2 S/O and a light and switch, they do not know how it should be installed or configured, the electrician then needs to make that judgement and quote. Dont lower your standards to do a cheap job.
Hi.tuff. is a tougher cable ...and there are some tidy cleats and banding out there...also makes a better seal in a stuffing gland...and can handle quite a knock...swa to shed .. changover to hi.tuff
Looks good, i think i would have gone for a 6mm from the house to a 5way board then 2.5 to the second shed with some galv conduit for the cables so they dont get caught or damaged, You know that cable will be used to hang stuff from
I would have run the cables along the top studs and dropped them down to the sockets, don't like the look of it going across the walls.
U probably strengthen the shed up putting them dwangs in4 the skt pal

Don't see them as negative, the lad can do good work, but if everyone tells him he's the best thing since sliced bread, he'll never learn, now is the time he actually starts learning, he can only get better if he takes comments / suggestions onboard

The best back boxes are Deta, They're ABS, 20 years garentee, the ones Adam used are plastic, probably appleby, which in that location won.t last a year.@@kevinpaterson4859

Good stuff. I would have definitely gone for conduit horizontal between sockets and chucked a saddle on each stud. Little bit more work but worth it.

Maybe, just all not very nice and neat like you said with the cables flapping about. Also the iso switch for shed one looks faulty and hole drilled for swa is about 3 times too big, unless glory hole size was on the spec? Other than that, enjoying the content. Good effort

why didn't you bring the two swa's through behind the backboard at the same level. If the customer told me not to use conduit or trunking, i wouldnt have done it. would you run twin and earth up someones wall in their living room. just because they wanted a cheap job. I'lld say its more vulnerable in a shed. Whats the maximum support spacings for 2.5mm run horizontally, you can ofcoarse lift the fence panel out and from the neigbours garden lift the cable off the ground and fix it properly.
It’s a shed you nob, not somewhere they’re living in every day. If they don’t mind seeing the cables up to them.
Nothin wrong with what I did and I’d love to lift the fence however if I did I would be greated with the neighbours shed so no luck 🤣

@@bobcat9754 it’s double insulated and run through the joists no different to a loft, we’re in the real world he said he couldn’t get fixings in as the sheds too thin. Guessing in your loft all the cables are in galv tubes covered by afdds 😅 and I’m a spark an industrial one 👍👌
Top job Adam. I totally agree with you on the shed build quality. New sheds are expensive and very poor quality. I built a new wooden shed recently and regret it. I should of spent extra and brought a plastic one.
Check out table D1 of the on site guide for cable spacings. Could have possibly inserted more 4x2 timber and clipped to that between the uprights or take the cable up along the top and down for each outlet.
At the beginning we are all eager for work but i have found when someone wants a cheap jobs its best to walk away, either you're not happy with the work of the customer isn't.

Everybody will do the job differently. If your happy it's done to the best of your ability and the customer is happy with the job. Then everyone's happy.

Come up and along the top bit of timber and then drop to to sockets so you can clip correctly and guarantee they are secure. Anything catches them cables they will get stretched or worse yanked out. Live and learn mate! You can't improve by getting it right all the time! Everyday is a learning day!

A few observations, not criticisms at all, I’d have taken the supply for shed two out the back wall next to the feed in for shed one rather than running it up the inside corner, I’d have raised the floorboard panel up to cover the hole(s) through the shed wall as it’d look neater, then either used conduit for the sockets or clipped the t&e along the top of the wall and brought it down to each socket rather than stringing across (for the sake of a couple of extra metres of cable), my OCD would have made me put isolator for shed one on the left and finally, you should have used some flexicon somewhere, for old times sake 😂 Otherwise, a cracking job! 👍

It’s OSB, as used in the structure of many buildings these days. If it’s the correct grade it’s fine.
Most sheds are crap these days
When I got my shed wired up sparky wouldn't let me use the none ip rated items I bought he told me it all has to be up rated and went ahead and fitted them

@@bobcat9754aviary has IP rated sockets switches lighting and sub main from house goes into aviary to garage board, however its my shed for storage I just wanted normal lap sockets installed had them all there for him to fit but he insisted it's got to be up ones as sheds can get wet in his words so persisted on more IP sockets
Best thing I ever got done electrical wise was to get an electrician to run power to my shed. 👍🏻 Made certain things so much easier.

Nice job here bringing the modern world of electricity to those sheds and let us all remember that people do some very strange things in sheds that are best done with the doors tightly closed 🙃

Any reason you didnt use one (or a couple of) LED battens in each shed? Would provide a better distribution of light and fits a bit more nicely on the beams. Even (heaven forbid) a couple of LAP items. Being in a shed, one of their IP65 battens are actually quite well designed.
Personally i would have tried to get top and bottom entry consistent between each of those double sockets, one is up and one is down which looks a bit strange to me.
Mind you it is just a shed so perhaps I am being picky!

in a wooden shed with no extraneous parts no gas or water pme earthing is fine.
