Now that Kyle has basically said that JGR said that they didn't want him anymore mid-2022, I wonder what would had happened if Kyle had stayed at HMS or gone straight to RCR.
HMS: 6 titles Kyle and JGR: 2 titles I think HMS still won that deal. 5 titles for Jimmie, and one for Chase. 2 for Kyle, but he has had 4 different crew chiefs now at JGR, while HMS kept mostly the same crew chiefs over that time, so HMS retained talent at engineer and crew chief, as has Gibbs.
And in other ways not. Hendrick would probably have wanted to kill Kyle for that stupid stunt in the truck race that got him parked for the rest of the weekend.

I love Kyle, but they're missing a key part of this. Rick and Joe BOTH wanted Dale Jr. He was the hot free agent. That was the guy that Gibbs and Hendrick were both going for him, and when Rick signed Dale Joe got his second choice.
I wish Kyle could have stayed with Hendrick. Rick Hendrick just got tired of Kyle tearing up his equipment and he started distancing himself from what a Hendrick driver should be. It's a shame he got let go. I really liked him on the team, he has amazing talent but I wish that he could have gone about things a different way and Kyle could have stayed there. It's one of things that I don't really care for Kyle for, he couldn't make it work at Hendrick and then he goes somewhere else and out-classes his replacement Dale Earnhardt Jr. by miles. But I also am angry with Hendrick for letting a talent like Kyle go.
If he had kept Kyle and the 2011 Texas truck race situation happened, I think that would’ve been the end of it right there, mr h would not have put up with that like Gibbs did

Yep I’m also a big HMS fan but I also feel that Kyle is one of the best NASCAR drivers out there that goes without all the due credit deserved. Yea he’s got a hot head but I think it’s been obvious how that has changed over time by the maturity of marriage and becoming a father. As a driver he’s aggressive, highly aware of his cars limits and drives it to its max, he’s knowledgeable of every tactic, and knows what his competitors moves are going to be to make his block or move at the right time. You can observe the feelings and compassion he has in his past interviews, human traits not covered by the media.
I have a question. When a owner is going for the owner year end championship and has 4 teams, is it like a race horse owner that has 4 horses going for the Triple Crown, if an owners 1 horse wins the Kentucky Derby, he's going to make absolutely sure 1 of his other horses does not win the Belmont.
If nascar races are won on communication between the driver and the team to be successful then why is there a lack of it between team managers and car owners ?
Roush, penske were bigger. But i could see rcr shelling out then, CGR too. Gibbs only had tony & bobby for a bit. But this was tony's unhappy un successful days plus denny was new and they had jj yeley in the 18
I remember KB throwing a hissy fit and leaving the track (Texas I believe) during a race and Dale Jr getting in that car and loving its handling. Hand that boy a tissue!
One of the few mistakes that Hendrick made getting rid of him. He would have won a lot of races for Hendrick obviously but Joe Gibbs smart man jumped right on them and signed Him. I'm not a Kyle Busch band I don't really even like him but I respect what he's accomplished.
Cade Crede : he pushed his girlfriend at the time in a fit of rage like the spoiled little punkass that he is and she fell and fractured her arm. If he's anyone's kind of man,i feel very sorry for you. He's a little boy with a big fragile ego.
IMO, it was real stupid of Hendrick Motorsports to keep Casey Mears and cut Kyle Busch. Imagine what a formidable team Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Kyle Busch would've fared for Hendrick? Dream Team is not a strong enough term for this.
I don't think that Rick liked hot heads. Kyle acts like a self serving clown when he wins, then whines like a baby when he loses. Don't forget about his attitudes after races giving interviews, whether it be out on the track or in the media center. He's been short and snippy with them when he finishes second or worse. Also, back in 2005 or some time close to there, Kyle got pissed after crashing in a race and left the track. The team fixed the car and Dale Jr. drove the car to finish the race. If he didn't act like a spoiled brat he may still be at Hendrick. It's the same reason why Jack Roush said enough is enough with his brother and dumped him. They got tired of being Kurt Busch apologists, the teams exact words.

if you're a fan of his personality, you might reconsider some things in your life
Can Coach Gibbs be any nicer? He's such a cool guy!
Everything joe gibbs touches turns to gold. Coach Gibbs is AMAZING!
Gibbs is a sellout
He's good at making gold plated turds, yes.
@@JJA1987 Joe Gibbs is a national treasure.
You are incredible with your interviews, man.
I met Coach Gibbs at the Super Bowl in Miami last year, what a nice man, an inspiration!
Big Nascar fan from Italy
Ciao Italia 👋
Kyle and Kurt didn't grow up spoiled kids and I think he hated that arrogance from them guys so he kicked their ass. Always loved the drive in Kyle Bush.
Great post, Graham. Those boys put their lives on the line every track. I've spun out a few times in my Alfa & Trams Am. My favorite story is from my friend, Tom Curren when he said, "You know you're alive when you're going 180 mph backwards!" :^) All the best, bro! I pray all is well.
Now that Kyle has basically said that JGR said that they didn't want him anymore mid-2022, I wonder what would had happened if Kyle had stayed at HMS or gone straight to RCR.
Great interview, what an amazing superstar Gibbs found in Kyle!
Kyle Busch is the reason JGR and Toyota have the positioning they have today. If he had stayed with Hendrick, another would be the story.
Gibbs is
Great
Busch
Is
Baby.
Good riddance! Hendrick Motorsports has ZERO tolerance for whiny D-Bags
HMS fired Kryle Busch and RCR damn sure didn't want him either. His stint with JGR is currently shaky as well.
HMS: 6 titles
Kyle and JGR: 2 titles
I think HMS still won that deal. 5 titles for Jimmie, and one for Chase.
2 for Kyle, but he has had 4 different crew chiefs now at JGR, while HMS kept mostly the same crew chiefs over that time, so HMS retained talent at engineer and crew chief, as has Gibbs.
Mr. Weeter not sure how much you are aware of NASCAR or current days but Jimmie has won 7 championships. 7, not 5, 7.
@@palmerstubbs4067 he’s talking about after Kyle left.
Kyle left, HMS kept Mears, good trade, Dale Jr, no championships, Martin just got older,
We do not know the inside baseball of hendrick during 5 in a row period.
Best move Hendrick ever did.
Dumbest statement ever written on You tube!! Congrats 🏆
Kyle Busch became more then Rick Hendrick ever expected
And in other ways not.
Hendrick would probably have wanted to kill Kyle for that stupid stunt in the truck race that got him parked for the rest of the weekend.
Funny how some people in the comments say how much they dislike Kurt and Kyle. But they still watched the video and commented on it. Dale Sr. said it best when people dislike you they give you the most attention.
Dale was a man while Kryle is a punk
It would be wild if he was still at Hendrick Motorsports more championships and wins
More fights, more chaos, less unity, more torn up race cars, less sponsors...
To clarify less sponsors...
How often do you see Kyle in a car with a sponsor that isn't a household name that can risk being associated with the most polarizing driver in NASCAR?
lol. It's like JG being sponsored by Dupont for so long... they didn't have the competition to worry about.
JJ... Lowe's had competition from Home Depot... that worked because not many people despised Jimmie if they weren't fans.
He’s never been able to control his mouth. Never will.
His ego is greater than his driving abilities-and his driving abilities are fantastic. Just saying.
Fast Toyotas helped a lot too.
Hands down, he has matured and frankly he is the best!
He's not matured stop BSing
Define mature.
Some drivers just don’t work out on certain teams like Joey at Gibbs.
Wasn't the main reason Kyle was let go was to have a seat open for Jr? Kyle is a better driver but Jr brought in sponsors and merchandise sales
Worst decision of Rick's career was keeping Casey Mears over Kyle Busch.
@@pinkdiablo4448 And it was the best decision for Kyle's.
The real reason was Kyle got wrecked and he walked out on the team and the crew fixed the car but Kyle was already gone and jr stepped in the seat
@@lilc94 and no one has touched his almost entire crew from last year leaving him because they got tired of being blamed when he wrecks himself by himself
@@lilc94 I think that bothered Rick as he had to face the sponsors during the race and after.
Joe Gibbs knew Kyle would be a legend.
Yes, he just didn't know that Kyle would be a very good racer, too.
Hmm! Okay guessing Kyle should be smiling because it seems that his career really took off joining JGR! 👍🏼
Love him or hate him, Kyle Busch isn’t fake
Why he's my guy,
Joe Gibbs sure does love it.
At least he went to another top tier ride right away. Unlike Kurt who had to work up the rankings after being released from Penske. Phoenix Racing(2012)-Furniture Row Racing(2012-2013)-Stewart-Haas Racing(2014-2018)-Chip Ganassi Racing(2019-present)
Kyle's maturity probably would have developed faster if he went through what Kurt did. But it worked out in the end for Kyle
I remember seeing KB all alone in a bar at Indy the night before the Brickyard, after he was dropped and persona non grata during that time. I couldn’t believe he was in that position. He was clearly so talented and going to be a champion. What a career.
Lol I’m gonna be that guy...you are full of shit lol...Kyle Busch wasn’t going to be at a local dive in Indy the night before the second biggest race of the season. He was dropped after the season was over...and you don’t have to make up bull shit lies on UA-cam to convey your point lol...not even going to into the age factor he wasn’t even 21 when he was fired.
Did you get his autograph
Kyle Busch is the closest you've got to a Dale Sr type of personality. Yet, all the Dale worshippers hate him for the same reason they love Dale.
Word
Dale Earnhardt didn't whine. Everything out of Kyle's mouth is whining.
As much as dont like Kyle Busch in any way. This is a good interview.
Without the move to JGR and Matt coming in a couple years later, I dont think Kyle would have done what he's done.
I hate him with a passion but he was going to win in anything he was in
Kyle was Putting down W’s & Picking up 🏁🏁🏁🏁 no matter where @ or whom he was driving for.
But, Scot is right, too... Matt, another Iceman, was able to work with Kyle... and not clash heads often.
I love Kyle, but they're missing a key part of this. Rick and Joe BOTH wanted Dale Jr. He was the hot free agent. That was the guy that Gibbs and Hendrick were both going for him, and when Rick signed Dale Joe got his second choice.
Jr sure wasn't like Sr.!
Jr was closer to Rick and Ricky always wanted Jr to be at Hendricks.
@@chuckd.7048 - I’ve always hated that people automatically assume a son/daughter should be exactly like their parent. They’re not!
And Kyle is way better than Dale jr
@@GoDawgs18 nope Jr is far better than overrated crybaby Busch
The other person who seems to have a passion for racing as KB does, and does so any chance he gets, is Kyle Larson.
I agree with u but he gotta save face =/
@@JeffWeselyan Aw yeah I know.
If he had kept Kyle and the 2011 Texas truck race situation happened, I think that would’ve been the end of it right there, mr h would not have put up with that like Gibbs did
Hey Hendrick has done better without Kyle so I’m not complaining
Hendrick is a few words a time man. He don’t have time for KB, just not MR. h’s style
Mr h should be in jail where do you think he was in 1997 hint at home with a ankle bracelet.
Kyle is the most talented driver in today's NASCAR he knows how to get the most from his cars and pit crew
Chase Elliott seems to be doing a good job also
yeah thats why has yeah 2 wins in over a year and a half he is trash
The rich dudes have ruined racing
Who's the rich dudes?
Kyle and Kurt weren’t rich growing up
KyBusch is one of the Toyota wheelmen that I've wanted to give respect to besides Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin.
haha love that number 18 ...and watching him in the busch series and trucks series also ...dude can do more in 1 weekend than most drivers will do there entire career....
Including pissing people off.
When Kyle raced for Hendricks he'd be racing good and his wheel would fall off or some other dumb pit stop mistake...
Happens more at jgr lol
Been an HMS fan all my life. But I gotta admit, Kyle has my respect
Now that’s what I like to hear.
@@natural-born_pilot Loved that spin he took from Kevin in the play offs and Kevin lost momentum and Kyle just put the power down following the 360.
NASCAR fans will miss this guy when he retires whether they realize it or not
No they won't
Toby Richardson like a case of the black clap. Spoiled little prick would have had his ass handed to him by real drivers back in the day!
@@pgh1all1 yes you are right my favorite back in the day would have kicked cryles ass dale sr
That's what happens when you are a liability instead of an asset
Hendrick kept Casey mears and got Dale Jr over Kyle lmao. Rick wanted to sell more T shirts instead of winning more races with the other cars.
Worked out pretty good for him
@@tylerepperson4381 not with JR. Case Elliot yes.
Coach Gibbs is a awesome guy
Got to like that Joe Gibbs
I’ll forever be A Richard Childress fan for hitting Kyle in the mouth.
Amen to that 👍
Hold my watch...
Amen
Really? I thought it was chicken s___ as he didn't let Kyle get out of the car.
And what young man is going to fight back with a grandpa?
I have a question. When a owner is going for the owner year end championship and has 4 teams, is it like a race horse owner that has 4 horses going for the Triple Crown, if an owners 1 horse wins the Kentucky Derby, he's going to make absolutely sure 1 of his other horses does not win the Belmont.
Not if he has any sense. He's beholden to the sponsors on those cars to TRY to get them into victory lane as well.
So he goes on to kick Chevy ass in a Toyota
Kyle Busch, your arrogance attitude is why HMS got rid of you. I still can't comprehend why NASCAR tolerates your crap.
His release born a great career. Major Talent. 18 👏👏 my car. !
Cryle is NASCAR's most overrated no talent bum ever
KFB is one of if not the most talented NASCAR driver/drivers in a long time. He can drive....
Makes no sense that they’d drop Kyle for outbursts but hire Kyle Larson who had the biggest public outburst in the history of the sport
If nascar races are won on communication between the driver and the team to be successful then why is there a lack of it between team managers and car owners ?
Does anyone know the other teams Kyle could’ve went to? When they said the took less money to go to Gibbs, who offered more? Maybe Roush?
He had already been at Roush
Roush, penske were bigger. But i could see rcr shelling out then, CGR too. Gibbs only had tony & bobby for a bit. But this was tony's unhappy un successful days plus denny was new and they had jj yeley in the 18
I was 4 minutes in until I realized this wasn’t Jimmy Johnson interviewing Kyle.
Would of made it to NASCAR Hall of Fame as a Crew Chief as well
So should Mr. Gibbs😡
I remember KB throwing a hissy fit and leaving the track (Texas I believe) during a race and Dale Jr getting in that car and loving its handling. Hand that boy a tissue!
Joe Gibbs is an absolute awesome guy
That’s funny no one else has that problem
Guess Hendrick decided to go with a more mature driver.
Yeah, Casey Mears was such a winner 😂
Him and Jeff never got along so if you don’t get along with Gordon then you are out
No Kyle just a jack ass!!
Kyle Busch will be Kyle Busch as we know Joe Gibbs will always be Joe Gibbs that's awesome 😎✌️❤️🎸🎇😎
At least he understands then
Hendrick let go of both KyBusch and Keselowski.... imagine a team with Busch Keselowski Johnson and Gordon... they would dominate nascar literally
He took a pay cut when he first joined Gibbs
One of the few mistakes that Hendrick made getting rid of him. He would have won a lot of races for Hendrick obviously but Joe Gibbs smart man jumped right on them and signed Him. I'm not a Kyle Busch band I don't really even like him but I respect what he's accomplished.
He pissed off too many Hendrick fans, crew, and drivers with his lack of respect and professionalism.
Nobody knows the real truth....he pushed a woman in the hendrick building. That's why they got rid of him
Cade Crede : he pushed his girlfriend at the time in a fit of rage like the spoiled little punkass that he is and she fell and fractured her arm. If he's anyone's kind of man,i feel very sorry for you. He's a little boy with a big fragile ego.
The driver that kill nascar
It all worked out for Kyle.
He's the way racing use to be.
Once an A** Hole.... Always an A** Hole... Let's Go Brandon !
They got tired of being Kurt Busch apologists, the teams exact words.
jdtractor man Just like a lot of people that age never had a beat down get your mind right in their lifetime. He would have worn several beat downs if he had been in his prime when richard petty the allison brothers yarbrough baker issac etc. Just as earnhardt sr would have. World has changed people dont show respect to each other. Prime example now this is long time ago. John wayne Kirk douglas oppisites in politics but both respected each other in an interview. Jimmy stewart Henry fonda same way after they had a fist fight. Nascar has went down hill and I dont think it will ever be what it once was.At least they continue with national anthem and a prayer though
Tim Richmond.
I like Kyle..if you ain't first you're last!
That’s Ricky Bobby
Long story short: Rick Hendrick didn't, wouldn't or couldn't understand Kyle Busch. But Joe Gibbs did!!!
“Understand” meaning “put up with”
That's where gibbs head coaching experience helped
@@jamesb_53 No not at all. I said UNDERSTAND because I meant UNDERSTAND. HMS fan are we? Or are we just a Kyle Busch hater? Doesn't really matter either, what's done is done.
@@adampatterson5475 Exactly!!! Joe Gibbs worked with a lot of Hot/Hard headed players back in the NFL. So he know's how to deal with people like that. I mean, look at his results with Tony Stewart. And make no mistake, Tony was no sweetheart either.
Like all the other replies are saying, Joe Gibbs was a football coach, he knew how to mold angry young talent into good players. Hendrick was a business man, so he looked at numbers and public image.
Rick chose name over talent. Kyle showed he was the talent and the other guy just showed merchandise sales revenue
They just needed to make room for Jr period...Hendrick fucked up by dropping kyle for jr.just my opinion
Doubt that. They made tons of money from Jr's name and have a solid Xfinity team to scout from which is what led to Chase and Alex.
Nope got Jr a far better racer and person
